I ordered on 18-09-2013. So I am quite late. So surprisingly I still got the 'announcement mail' that a shipment was incoming.

Seeing as nobody in Europe has got a mail saying their shifter from this batch was shipped, I reckon its either still on the water or it is stick at customs.

So I go to the Fanatec site and am asked to sign in to purchase, however when I request a password to be emailed no email is sent. Anybody else getting this?

The whole package CSW + CSPv2 AND the CSS works perfectly with GT6.

One issue i do have: I have a lot more missed shifts in GT6 than in any other racing sim.
The gearbox then goes to neutral and i have to let go of the clutch, put it back in neutral, press the clutch again AND put the shifter in gear again and let go of the clutch.

Thank´s Paskowitz ! now beginning to get worried !:grumpy:

I ordered on 05 July 2013 and was expecting the goods at the end of August (as was stated on the Fanatec website, about availability).

on 28/8/2013 I received "Unfortunately, we have to inform you that the goods have not yet arrived to our warehouses.
The delivery of your order is thus directly affected and will be delayed accordingly for about 3 to 4 weeks"

On 18/9/2013 I received a mail telling me that "Today, we would like to inform you that by the end of this week, we will be starting the first CSS customer shipments. We will serve our customers on a “first come, first serve” basis."

Of course nothing came "by the end of that week" neither till now.

On 29/11/2013 I received: "Please note that the goods are on the way to our warehouse and that we expect them in stock within the next week" but as I understand this could mean nothing, again.

If so, I'm seriously thinking to withdraw my money back...

I just received this email from Fanatec :

Dear Manuel,

thanks a lot for your order no.623383 and the pre-payment.
The goods will be shipped now to:

now we just need the the tracking number. :gtpflag:

Shifting in GT5 had to be precise with the CSW/T500 and TH8, until I adjusted the shifter settings in the driver on the laptop.
Can the throw of the shifts be adjusted in the driver setting on the CSS?

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/fanatec-announcements-updated-op.203494/page-261 post 7829. I sure hope that wasn't just lip service to sell wheels. That statement is why I went ahead and purchased the CSW. I sure hope we get some clarification on this. Ill be holding off on any more Fanatec products until we get a clear answer on this. No new shifter or rim for me.

This was in response to this post:

I emailed Fanatec to ask about the availability of buying the CSW/CSRE motor block and here is their reply:

I’m sorry, but we unfortunately can’t provide motor blocks for sale.

These motors need to be used for customer wheel’s that needs to be repaired.

Thank you for your understanding

So basically once your warranty runs out on your $550+ Fanatec wheel then I guess they just expect you to throw the wheel away and buy a new one. Just ridiculous. Since these motors are so unreliable they should at least offer to sell them once your warranty runs out.

I inquired about buying just the raw motors then and not the whole block and they have yet to reply and I don't expect they will reply.

fatkrakr but I saw in earlier posts that you could buy third party motors, wouldn´t that solve the problem? Of course It´s really bad that Fanatec promise one thing and when say the complete opposite later.

I believe there is something that may be a workaround to the original motors, but nothing so far that is an actual replacement motor. I know we have a fellow member who is trying to source a suitable replacement, but as of yet has had no success.

I do not get why Fanatec does not just make a Spec2 with a better motor. Hell charge me $100 more dollars. I am already spending $450 and >$1000 on the whole set up. I would gladly pay an extra $100 upfront for a CSW that has a much lower failure rate. I know those with tighter budgets may not agree, but that is my opinion.

I feel for you guys. Its a crying shame.
I couldn't deal with the down time anymore.

9 months now since I have moved on, but no motor issues yet.

I agree with paskowitz, I probably would have ponied up even more for reliability.
Hope you guys can find an alternate power source.

If this ends up being an issue, I can easily provide modified stuff for a few guys right away, but they'll need to pick up some better power supplies too, and will still suffer from fading due to heat if they don't get some cooling added. On the plus side, my original 2 Buhler motors are still going strong after quite a lot of overheating, overvolting and pretty much all-around abuse. I have a decent set-up working for cooling on mine, but it isn't anywhere near ready for a mass production type of thing.

They expect you to send wheel to them for repair after warranty period. It will cost money of course.

It would better that they would not sell anything unreliable. All motors with brushes wear out and need repair. Thrustmaster has gone brushless and maybe they had enough motor failures to come to this decision.

Hey guys!
Just tried out GT6 with a GT3 RS v2 wheel.. FFB set to lvl 10 but the only force I get is center spring.. driving over curbs gives NO feedback at all, there are no bumps, nothing...
Is my wheel broken or is the Force Feedback for the GT3 RS wheel really that bad..?

I'm waiting on my copy coming through the letterbox, should have it within the hour. So I'll be able to test the FFB etc

Yes I realize this. He stated that in his reply to me concerning repairs, but Thomas also replied to me that replacement parts would also be available. That is the reason I decided to buy the CSW, because I would be able to buy replacement parts if there where issues after the warranty expired. I guess for now its not a big deal because all CSW are still under warranty, but that wont be the case in just a few more months. Its not very reassuring when you here that same company reply to a request for replacement parts in this way.
It could also have been just a poor choice of words from support and they just don't have any available. I would like some clarification on the matter though before I spend any more money on this wheel. As I said, after warranty support is what sold me on this wheel.

I will check back on this with turbo S wheel next week. FFB felt weaker or smoother in GT6. Curb FFB was destroyed already by a patch in GT5.(someone complained about wheels shaking in straights and then they just muted it everywhere)

I'd like to help, but my GT2 is boxed up in the attic since my T500RS arrived on Monday, so I've only used the T500RS with GT6.

With the T500RS even on FFB=3 in GT6, I get heavy curb effects and lots of bumps and suspension feel. Driving over the curb in the dip on the first corner at Brands Hatch I could feel how the outside wheels were going over the hump of the curb, it was very awesome.

Got my CSS SQ! :gtpflag:

HOLY CRAP!!! This thing is huge. The base of the shifter is about half the size of the CSW base! In height, width and depth. Wow!

The knobs just in your hand really weigh and feel solid. A solid piece of mass that you shouldn't throw at someone's head or something could go terribly wrong.

Switching from SQ to H and back is really a breeze. So much so I am itching to open it up and look inside how they did it.

Shifting feels much more solid and beefy in the hand. Although there is so much moisture on it due to the package going from a icy cold environment into a 22 degree living room, I just don't dare hooking it up yet.

So far I can already tell this is a league above the TH8 easily, without a doubt in my mind. This quality does make me grumble at the CSW base's motors more though, wishing for a serious motor upgrade kit.

With the CSS it is definitely... well done Fanatec!
Its a product to be proud of so far I can tell. Reliability is something I can't judge (maybe in 6 months to a year from now), but I doubt something could go horribly wrong with this device.
