This wheel hub will definately be is on my shopping list.;)

Looks like fanatec really listened to the communtiy:tup:

A bit of said news too though. Here is the quote from Thomas

About number 2.... But there's no base unit that supports PS4 right now...

So this means no PS4 compatibility for the CSW wheelbase :grumpy:

I still dont think PS4 is such a problem. Firstly there's no game that supports a wheel yet (NFS doesn't) so there's no way of knowing if a PS3 wheel will work at this stage so surely people like Fanatec are just being cautious because there's no way of knowing.
That's my opinion anyway :)

Hope your right Steve.

To be honest i will be ordering the new hub + rims regardless of PS4 compatibilty of the CSW base.

A double quick release system might be an option here 💡

If you mount this QR to the universal hub, you can very easy switch rims:D

Why use such a big QR?
Here's a slim version and cheaper as well. Below 20 dollars. ;)

This latest announcement sure makes it all look better, but with the motor issues I have read about I must say that I will still not be getting one (I guess) which is a shame, it looks really nice now.

I will be waiting for more news on the Accuforce and the possibly upcoming new Fanatec wheel I guess.

At least complaining about the price should stop now, as all those rims themselves cost €/$100 which seems pretty cheap for some of them.

LOL you would think, but over at iRacing there are some hard liners who refuse to stop complaining. I really don't understand how any of this is bad. They seem to want Fanatec to make it so you need no Hub now, and that the CSW should be rewired to accept any rim, quick release, and to play with your junk.

The thing is not everyone that is happy with their wheel will go on a forum to tell the world, so there must be hundreds of happy customers out there racing. I am hoping to be one of them soon.

Yes of course, I am aware of that and I have kept it in mind, but what I read about the ones that are unlucky with their motors I still have to think about it since the CSW system is not cheap. Since I am in no dire need of a system now I will wait until more news comes out from Accuforce and hopefully Fanatec's next high end base.

I too once thought that way Archangel but eventually bite the bullet and couldn't be happier to be honest. Even if something does happen to my motor's there's always Eric and His Awesome service that he can provide.

Plus now all i have to buy is the New base in the future as All my wheels will be compatible. 👍

I really hope they saved the best for last with an updated CSW Base V2.

Either way I think Fanatec have hit it out of the park with this one. Will be buying a csw either way now.

From Fanatec Blog:

Question: Would it be possible to insert the required security chip for the Xbox One in a wheel hub with Xbox buttons to make the CSW base XB1 compatible?

Anwer: Technically possible

From Fanatec Blog:

It says "Technically possible", which doesn't mean that Microsoft will actually allow it. They put the demands on licensing and supply of these security chips after all, so Fanatec has to persuade them first.

Agree but I think in the end it wil be one of us that come up with the possibility to connect CSW and XB1 and fanatec will quietly ride on the wave of that.

Without the electronics its a no go, but...
Sure there might be one of those adapters like on the XB360 that let you connect a G27 for example, but the FFB sucked and you didn't have the proper steering response as the steering wheel emulated a gamepad stick.
So all in all I don't think we will see a proper solution unless a manufacturer has support from Microsoft.
