I would really like some clarification on this...8 buttons does not seem like nearly enough.

Just look at the wheel rim. There's clearly 8 buttons + (as comparison chart says it doesn't have analog joystick) d-pad which does look more like a joystick.

I think I'm going to wait to see what FM4 is like before I decide between CSR Elite or the CSW. If it's more like FM3, then I'll stick with the Controller. I like to create decals anyway.

That CSW has grown on me through the weeks. I'm seriously considering it with a GT Rim.

EDIT:^ Also, please, all this has been put up in past pages, as well as on the OP. i appreciate your efforts, as well as many others, but please, create a new thread for your website. I know I'm not the first to talk to you about this.

There's a limitation to only 8 buttons because of XBox compatibility. Microsoft forced this on all wheel makers. All Fanatec wheels that are XBox compatible are exactly the same. For the GT2 for example, you have the the 4 buttons on the right, and LSB and RSB on the left, and the other 2 buttons under the D-pad. That still makes 8. You can argue that the D-pad are also buttons, making it 12 in total. This one, the D-pad seems more like a knob (pushing up,down, left, right).

We actually have 10 buttons plus D-pad (4). We will correct that mistake soon.
Thank you...is was driving me crazy trying to figure out why there wouldn't be start/back buttons on it, but I now see them at the top on both sides of the display.

So you had all the info.that I covered in that article... As I did actually read previous posts and didn't notice a few of the things I covered on the article.

It also saves people reading through hundreds of the same posts to find some bits of info. Sorry that you don't appreciate it. And its only the second link I have posted in a week.

It does also take time to write an article, go through the table scouring little details just to write a nice piece that most forum members appreciate.

I don't get your problem. I haven't spammed the thread with links. It is exactly the same as someone posting an ISR video (which are great to watch) the only difference.is that I run the site.
In other threads where I recommend wheels and don't posts links you don't seem to have a problem.

Now stop giving me a hard time and move on.
I don't need.to put a link on this site just to get visitors as the site gets many hits anyway well over 600 unique visitor a day usuALLY 800-900

Adam, if you want to read other peoples posts you will find they too have and are making reference to you constantly linking your site in various threads. Personally Id prefer you join the discussion here and appreciate any input you offer but it is clear your on some personal mission to get people to visit your website. You could easily upload the information etc directly here in your own posts.

I previously pointed out you linked your site at least 8 times within a few pages in annother thread. Perhaps I speak for others in saying well we are aware of your website so your sig should be fine.

Yes that was a while ago when I did post way to many times . But I was updating constantly. I do join in discussions here all the time. The only reason I did a link was when I updated the site. Is that a real crime to you.

Anyway critism taken.

On the cm forums however I do get told to post when updated.

Also look at my post count.then see how many times I have linked and you will see I don't so it qa much as you think.
I will continue to post relevant links when I see fit if that's ok with you Mr. Latte
And I will also continue to join in with discussions.

However sometimes I don't.discuss due to the fact that sometimes one page will have.the same posts said in a different way

A question I have for Thomas is...
Will u allow mods to make wheels?? And would that be difficult.
And is their any possiblity of say an official f1 wheel to compete with thrustmaster with full button functionality :P

Are you wearing girlie panties?
It didnt have to be a big thing, the simple point your refusing to understand is their is no need to link your site to be an active member here and contruibute. Instead by making a fuss out of it I think your getting your knickers in a twist.

What we are joking at is your it seems desperation to attract people to your site and sorry if it annoys you but Id rather read the information and see it directly from the official source than on your site. Maybe you should try to understand that.

Lets keep to topic now...

Read my post above yours LOL ...
The site is not aimed at you. You are well informed and take time.to.read everything possible it seems.
It is.more for people who don't have the time to read every site in the world.
I see you are joking but I am harldly desperate for you to.read the link.

I think you are seeing my motives differently.
But I get your joke and I have/had moved in.

You have PM.

I recommend any further discussion with me you want (and your welcome) regarding your site is done via PM.
Please note I am not the only person here to recently make a point of this issue.

Compete? Doesn't the CSW formula rim have over 100 useable buttons where the TM has a little over 20. ?

Was looking back and Thomas announced on his blog on 16th September the CSR were shipped and would deliver for around the FM4 launch date. So from this we can determine that a month is approximate shipping & delivery time.

Good to see them advertising the Elite even if its not yet ready for PRE-ORDER.

Been wondering what the chances are of the "CSR Elite" shipping out before or on the week commencing October 10th and then hopefully arrive delivered to customers within the 30 days.

As an estimate, but if so it is possible Elite buyers will be enjoying FM4 with their wheels by mid November. This strategy would also allow Fanatec to get in good orders for PRE CHRISTMAS. Much later would maybe "hamper" (pun intended) sales for deliveries prior to Christmas.

I think that's what's going to happen. For what we know Thomas has been on Mass Production of the CSR Elite and CSW for the past couple of weeks now. That would indicate that we would have a larger stock for Christmas time. Where the buyer potential is at it's highest.

BTW I updated the OP.

No. Comparison chart refers, that electronics of CSW allows to use up to 111 buttons. I think if you want to put that many buttons on a wheel rim itself you have to use a steering wheel of a bus not something as small as a formula rim.

For what we know Thomas has been on Mass Production of the CSR Elite and CSW for the past couple of weeks now.

Concerning Elite Thomas said less than two weeks ago that they can start production in few weeks time. So this wheel may still not be in production. Only Thomas knows for sure.

What payment methods are currently available at the moment with Fanatec?

3 camels and your first born.

No seriously. Paypal.
I think if you have a German account you can direct debit your card.

From what I remember mate.

Thomas stated on his blog that most likely the CSR-Elite And CSW will most likely be available for pre-order after the start of december for the community wondering on those wheels. He also said the CSR Pedals(Standard) MIGHT be available before then.

Some were wondering if the Elite might be available come late october or november. Hope this helps!

As for payment terms, I personally used paypal, but I think credit/debit is allowed too.

Interesting, so the new Fanatec CSW will have the ability to go up to 111 buttons? I saw that clearly written on Fanatec's info page but assumed it to be a typo lol. Well we all called it way back many pages ago that wheel has incredible potential. I can see modder's being able to easily use that Quick release feature to prototype new rims, etc

I still see the occasional post whereas yall want the CSW to get modded to work on the xbox 360. But that can't happen I'm afraid. Seriously I wish it were that simple. Thomas explained this awhile back. Microsoft requires their custom XID technology in wheels that work on the xbox platform. If you search the forums for the XID keyword perhaps you can find a much more elegant and accurate explanation written by Thomas himself.

Anyway I better end this post right here because if I were to keep typing I'd just complain how unfair life is the CSW does not work on the xbox 360. Once again this is more Microsoft fail

No it does not. It only has like 11-14 buttons as we discussed a few pages ago. But that matters not. The PC sim racers are still drooling over the CSW f1 rim. Apparently they are more taken by the fact it has the rev limiter on the wheel. Personally, I was thinking it would be better to have a detached rev limiter like in the red bull f1 cars but anyway I can't hate on their logic.

@ bummer :

Yeah your right ;)
Now Im wondering about that direct data port or whatever its called.that was mentioned for the csw with no other info. Surprise clubsport button box?

Ehhhhh sandbox, It's Micro$oft, what can you expect?...................

Let them stay greedy and miss out on the best products for machine. It's their loss really. I mainly am a xbox360 guy myself, but realize the capabilities for PC/PS3, and go, eh, why am I wasting time on the 360 for racing. Mainly b/c of the 30fps limit.

I will give FM4 a shot, and F1 is amazing, so, some good things there. I am going to keep the GT2 for 360 purposes and relish a good CSW!

Btw: random note. After looking @ the specs for the CSR elite pedals and comparing them to the CSP's. There truly is no comparison. The CSP's blows them out of the water, minus the easy inversion set-up. Still look sweet though.

Thanks Spagetti.

I tell you though, it's for this reason I always put off buying anything from Fanatec, even though I'm always interested in the new products they have to offer. With such a big endorsement from both Microsoft and Turn 10, I cant see it being too hard to lockdown distribution from some big online vendors outside of Europe. I understand that offering sales directly saves money for the consumer, but that really only benefits the consumer that doesn't have to jump through hoops just to buy a Fanatec wheel.

If Forza 4 is as good as it looks, I want to have a higher quality Xbox 360 wheel at my disposal. I may have to pass on Fanatec again unless they can offer me a payment method other than Paypal.

Their website accepts cards also.
You click on a link for credit/debit cards if not wanting to use Pay Pal.
My friend ordered a CSR last week .

Fanatec selling direct allows them to maximise their margins and keep the selling price down.

To be honest, there is no hoop jumping. I used my credit card through paypal. I had an old PP account I almost forgot I had. Anyway, even if you pay with a CC it just goes through the PayPal service. I dont even think you need to do anything special, just like you would buy something off any site.

Ok, Mr.Latte beat me to it...
