Good to hear. When you get it... I want video lol. If anything but to drool over.

I will post up an unboxing / set up / review as soon as my CSR gets here either in this thread or it's own. Someone will probably beat me to it but the more the merrier I guess.

Agreed!

Yeh I plan on doing video reviews on some wheels :) and unboxing lol :sly:

so you can

I'm debating between the GT2 and CSR. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the CSR. I really like the look of the GT2. I'm looking at the differences betwen the 2 and it looks like the wireless capability of the GT2 and the updated electronics of the CSR +the dpad diffference. If thats it I'm thinkg the the GT2 may be the better buy. Does that sound feasible? Or am I missing somnething?

I'm upgrading from a PWT thats motor is dying :(

Thomas noted the CSR rim is slightly lighter which means quicker to move. As for the actual base and performance, same thing, just different style rim. I love the Alcantra, but have not tried CSR though, so not fair for me to compare.

Nope. It really just comes down to rim preference Alcantara or race style.

If the Elite wheel looks good to you... You could always just apply 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Vinyl to the face of the CSR; which is what I will be doing.

so are you not getting the elite?? just the pedals...

And if its down to rim style... then go for the one you prefer as they are pretty similar

Thanks guys. I already ordered the CSR Elite pedals. Looks like I'll have to get the GT2 to match it. Appreciate the insight :)

I think so too. I was either going for the GT2 or the CSR (would've loved the CSW...wifey would have murdered me). I ordered the CSR because I prefer a more race looking rig. From what I have read it is practically just an updated version of the GT2 (which is in NO way a bad thing from the reviews I have read). The Elite pedals are a steal at 150.00. I don't have a gaming PC so the CSP seemed like a little bit of overkill since the brake vibration doesn't work on consoles (please, correct me if I am wrong because if I am... I'm changing my order lol).

Yeah the main reason I went with the Elites as well. My thought process exactally.

With the CSR Elite, Thomas did say he will make a GT Rim for it right? If so, then I'll chose the CSR Elite over the CSW. I just love those GT Style Racing Rims!

I know most of you guys are looking at the top end stuff, but is anyone else here hoping for a relatively bargaintastic CSR package?

If you're reading this Thomas, make it happen my good man :D

It would be nice... but i wish for a cheaper clubsport package :)

Nope. Just the CSR (non-elite) and the CSR Elite pedals. I didn't have the guts to ask my wife for $500 for just the wheel lol.

The CSR will meet my needs anyway.

Fortunately my wife doesn't mind me spending my time around wheels and rigs etc :) I'm planning to get the CSR Elite along with the CSP and CSS when they are out as well as the Handbrake.
CSR Elite seems to be the obvious choice since it has different motors driving the wheel, should be more beefy and smooth. I don't see the point of getting the GT2 since you can buy a newer model - the CSR which has more features and better/revised electronics.

If you don't need 360 compatibility then a CSW may be better

I know CSW is better in terms of being able to do more configs - 110 buttons if i'm not mistaken. But one of the reasons i would like to change my current G27 to CSR Elite is because i would like to be able to play GT5, FM4 and PC games such as iRacing and F1 2011 with one wheel and not with 2 or separate wheels which would require more investment and seems pointless.

I would however consider getting CSW in the future since I like F1 a lot.

Not sure about the CSR Elite, or even the CSW having different motors. They are listed as the same series but have DUAL Mabauchi 550 motors. The other wheels use a single motor.

Fanatec may not be using an off the shelf model/who knows but this RS 550PC would likely be similar.

Did anyone mention also that regards the "Handbrake" it looks like only the "CSP & Elite" pedals will be compatible.

It's going to be easy for people to get caught out with this if they decide to purchase the "CSR Standard" pedals or use an existing X360/Logitech set. Im not sure what interest their is for the shifter though?

I wonder why they dropped support for the PC/PS3 wireless dongle as well on the new CSR/CSW range?

We have yet to see the "CSR Shifter Set Mount" for the CSR Elite & CSW as these wheels do not have the chopsticks.

Fanatec:
The comparison chart only lists G25/G27 compatible pedals. Can you confirm please if X360 pedals will still work with CSR/CSR Elite using the adapter.

Is it not compatible with all wheels like the shifter??

Actually CSR E and CSW have exactly the same motors (2 Mabauchi 550 motors in the base and 2 FF motors in the wheel itself). However the electronics of CSW are slightly different as the wheel of CSW is quickrelease and hotswap as well as it misses the XBOX360 parts. The only reason to go for CSW is the F1 wheel and the quickrelease. For me those specs are not critical and therefore I prefer the XBOX360 compatibility over those.

I mentioned a while back when investigating that even "CSP V1 pedals" did not have the connection points either. However Im sure Fanatec could work something for people with the V1 model and replace the mini pcb.

Yes Im fully aware of that but the point I was highlighting was that the motors are the same. CSR only uses one and Elite uses 2. That is one of the differences in the new wheel chassis as is the new fans/cooling that goes with it.

Someone could of read your comment thinking the CSR Elite has a different motor to the CSR or GT2, you with me now?
