The only reason to go for CSW is the F1 wheel and the quickrelease.

As electronics of a CSW and CSR E differ a lot, CSW has a lot more features and possibilities. So quickrelease and formula rim is only some of the features. But of course, if you don't play on PC, there may be no use of all the possibilites and features on a console.

Yeh consoles can't have many.buttons at tall.

I think 111 is just to boast about really qa I can't think of any game that may need that many

I don't only mean buttons. Thomas has said that it supports bigger screens and many other options.

I mentioned a while back when investigating that even "CSP V1 pedals" did not have the connection points either. However Im sure Fanatec could work something for people with the V1 model and replace the mini pcb.

Do you know, maybe, whether the CSP V2 are going to be available any time soon? and whether the ABS feedback is going to be available on all platforms?

When I refer to "V1" I mean the first batch of production units.
The mini PCB and the pedals have had minor changes/updates since release.

My own PCB was replaced at one point and I noticed the differences is all. The newer one had the connection and is clearly labelled "Handbrake".

ISR kinda dicked around with this on one of their videos saying this is how they would attach (Tom then getting sly look from Darin) only for him to back track a little saying he wasnt sure. I guess its how they play "roles" on the show sometimes with their teasing/information.

Yes Im fully aware of that but the point I was highlighting was that the motors are the same. CSR only uses one and Elite uses 2. That is one of the differences in the new wheel chassis as is the new fans/cooling that goes with it.

Someone could of read your comment thinking the CSR Elite has a different motor to the CSR or GT2, you with me now?

Yes, I'm now, mate :)

Mr. Latte means electronics under V1 not completely new pedals. V1 electronics theoretically has a socket for handbrake but it is not connected to anything. V2 electronics has a working socket.

EDIT. Mr. Latte beat me to it

Btw, regarding the buttkicker, still have not decided what to get. Iwas planning to get 2 one for each side of the rig. don't know if there is a point in this however...

Do not want to take the thread off topic although...
Im currently doing my speaker/tactile testing for my own cockpit.
I recommed you get a bit of wooden board like shown. Place it on the floor (for testing) and I can gurantee you that excellent results are possible from using 3 tactile units, even with music.

7 Channel Surround and 3x Aura Pro Tactile (1x Left 1x Right 1x LFE)
Having LFE combined with L/R is much better than on their own.
(Temporary setup in shop storeroom)

That looks frightening.

I'm going to try an do something like that with my cockpit too. Though I don't see how it'll work at the moment.

Might not look like the best thing ever, but it surely gets the job done! Also planning on triple screens, Left right and center Buttkickers, Surround Sound, and maybe motion if I decide for a new frame.

...god this threads off-topic.

Sounds fantastic! could you please also let me know which amplifying unit you are using? I'm very interested in this especially if you own the shop :)

Btw, since you seem to be THE specialist, could you please let me know if you know any headsets that work with PC/PS3/XBOX360 and probably are 7.1 wired/wireless. Thank you :)

I think so too. I was either going for the GT2 or the CSR (would've loved the CSW...wifey would have murdered me). I ordered the CSR because I prefer a more race looking rig. From what I have read it is practically just an updated version of the GT2 (which is in NO way a bad thing from the reviews I have read). The Elite pedals are a steal at 150.00. I don't have a gaming PC so the CSP seemed like a little bit of overkill since the brake vibration doesn't work on consoles (please, correct me if I am wrong because if I am... I'm changing my order lol).

Yeah the main reason I went with the Elites as well. My thought process exactally.

Be carefull. While I don't think console games can be programmed to activate the motor on the brake pedal idependently, because the brakes are not connected directly to the console you can have the motor working on console games.

This is controlled by the 'abs' setting on the wheel. As far as I can determine this value represents the percentage of brake force applied. Set it to any value below 100 and the motor will start to vibrate the pedal when you reach the equivilant braking force. IMO this is a very good tool for simulating brake lock up. I'm currently playing F1 2011 and have this value set to 99, this way when it starts vibrating I know I've most likely locked my brakes (you can visually see this in game) and know I need to ease off a touch.

I bet this feature alone is worth the money you spend on CSP, I will definitely buy those.

Will send you PMs guys (later)
Look back through my "Project R" thread for info and stuff if interested.

Im no specialist just somone thats spent quite a bit of time and money experimenting with it.
Perhaps looking to invite Thomas over to "Northern Ireland" here to maybe sometime experience the full setup when its done.

In the future Id like to see Fanatec do "Playseat Price Point" cockpits but reckon if they ever go that route they should look at allowing "Surround Tactile Immersion" to easily be incorporated. Well I've got some interesting ideas from all my experimentation with it.

Weird thing is not one tactile or cockpit company actually utilises multiple independant channel surround tactile.
Its all very community/experimental at the moment.

Oh cheers, all I can say is the project will be an eye opener when done. :)

Motion seems overrated and overpriced IMO.
Its good for novelty factor but I havnt tried all types of motion. Usually its OTT to simulate G-Forces or unrealistic and can produce motion sickness.

It is very popular in the PC community though. I cant stand that bird chirping noise some units produce. I was tempted at one point. Instead now rely on audio and tactile for really puttiing you in the thick of the action.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product... Always. Web tempted to make a rig. Never really interested me as much as the wheels

Astro Gaming is the way to go. I tried out Turtle Beach and Trittons top models...Astro was far better in quality and flexibility.

On a random note from a previous conversation. These are the paddles I am referring to for the GT2.

With these, I NEVER miss a shift, and have complete confidence around any circuit to make my shift. I too had that deadzone shift where it would miss. These come with the GT3RS. I wish they would have originally with the GT2. imho, these are great compared to the stock ones.

Now, for the CSR's, they are attached on the base instead of having to manually install. Also, they are likely much better with no deadzone. But, for those with a GT2, inquire about these if that deadzone is an issue for you as it was for myself. They made a night to day difference for me! I use them in iracing to look left and right since I do not have 3 screen support (yet that is!)

Way off topic I know - But if you are thinking about spending that much for a gaming headset - I recommend getting just the Astro mix amp 5.8, this will make any wired headphones wireless and you can use a seperate mic for chat or find a headphone set with a built in mic. Because the mix amp does have a seperate mic jack you it can be used on all systems (PC/360/PS3-you need chat adapter cable for PS3)

There are far better headphones, as far as sound quality, for around the same price as the Astro headphones which really pale in comparison......FYI.

If all you've ever used is "gaming" headphones the astros/turtle beach/trittons are all a step up from the cheap "gaming headphones" but there are far better options if you want to spend a little more money. Plus if you use them for music or movies the sound quality will be much much better
