I paid mine thru pay-pal...it was taken from my account that moment I click the send button......that no fault from Fanatec....just the way pay-pal is

Same here.

However, I thought that it had been said Fanatec wasn't going to charge customers until their orders had shipped; because of past problems. I guess this either went out the window or doesn't apply to pre-orders.

It's not a "preorder" it's a "filling your order".

What Thomas said in another Thread.

Well, it looks more like a GP2 rim because it is just like that. The FORMULA rim is not our F1 rim. It is a generic Formula style rim. We will have a real F1 rim later with even more functionality.

"Should be shipping pretty soon. The ship is close to port !"

Wtf are you talking about.

...
So my options are:

A. CSR Elite Wheel plus Clubsport pedals and CSR shifter $760 or with CRS Elite pedals $710

B. CRS wheel plus CS pedals and CRS shifters $510 or $460 with CRS Elite pedals

C. GT2 wheel plus CS pedals, CSR Shifter and carbon pedals $550 or $500 with CRS Elite pedals

D. GT2 Clubsport edition $500

I would pull the trigger on option A today if it were available; but from what I gather, they have just gone to manufacturing. I’m guessing that’s a 6 to 8 week process in China with another 4 weeks for export and shipping. So, it looks like end of year for getting it in my hands.

...

My current budget does not allow me to get the CSR Elite wheel, unfortunately. I was thinking about getting the GT2 Clubsport edition, but because I had my eye on the Clubsport Shifter, I don't want to have a set of standard shifters laying around collecting dust later on (I probably can't even sell them). I know the CSS will probably not be available before next year early. If I were to get a wheel now, I'd get the GT2 w/CSP (not the Clubsport Edition)

I chose option D a while ago. Received all my products very quickly and everything was packaged very thoroughly..

I just cant find a way to configure the buttons on the wheel!

Mine says the same thing. So no worry there I guess.

Hope your shipping situation works out for the best.

Well just managed to sort everything out and unfortunately my order has to go to a friend in the UK first. A little frustrated about this as it will mean a longer wait before I get my hands on it.

The reason they gave was because UPS won't ship it to where I live, strange I have had plenty of other orders come through UPS before from different companies.

Never mind, i'm sure I can wait a few more days :ouch:

Hey Thomas, if browsing through this can you confirm the Adapter for CSR does indeed still work with X360 pedals. I have a worried friend that has ordered and your chart doesnt mention X360 pedal compatibility.

Thanks.

J, man, GTPlanet is the CSI of the interwebz.

Haven't got a clue mate.

Glad I'm not alone :D

I had direct communication with the distribution warehouse in southern CA with my back-order. So, if I need anything, I have a direct contact. The name of the distribution company is Centra Worldwide / Suddath Logistics. They handle any and everything when it comes to shipment.

Great people too, very helpful!

As for the new wheels, people be patient, they obviously have not shipped them out yet. When they do, everyone will know. I think it's more for promotional release reasons, imho. I too have a CSR shifter set pending. Can't wait! Metal shifter, finally.......

Good info, thanks dude.

How much longer do we have to wait for them to be shipped :ouch:

Shaun gave it a really good review though so that's good news 👍

Yea, ISR really has me convinced. They know their stuff, try to be fair/unbiased and it doesn't hurt to have Jessica on your side either :P

About CSR, Darin wrote in insidesimracing forum the following: Should be shipping pretty soon. The ship is close to port !

I think it is true for USA, don't know about Europe, but doesn't really matter, as the wheel was promised for 15th and you'll probably get it around that time at the latest.

Yeah I did notice what Darin had posted, hope it's sooner rather than later as my order has to go to the UK first even though where I live is closer than the UK. Then I have to hope that my friend in the UK sends it straight on to me so I don't have to wait around.

As long as it's here before FM4 release I will be happy. :)

@ Jump_Ace

I agree, I also like to here what ISR have to say, they are normally pretty good when it comes to reviewing products

After watching the video review of the CSR. This is the goto wheel between this and the GT2.

Joystick and paddle shifters make this the better choice.

Nice upgrade Fanatec.

Is the CS Shifter compatible with the Playseat Evo. mount piece? I know the G25/27 shifter is compatible and I'd assume this CS Shifter is as well?

I'll eventually upgrade to the CS Pedals and Shifter, but I have to pay off our hybrid in Oct/Nov first :D

BAM!

Awesome review ISR! Can't wait to get mine! Looks like I will have yet another modification to add to my list: wrapping the wheel rim in a high quality rubber.

No it is not. However, there are companies that provide an adapter to use the CS Shifter on the G27 mounting piece.

As I can see you understand that he was talking about CSS, so how do you know it isn't? Maybe it's only in a matter of drilling some holes. We don't know anything about the size of a CSS and therefore we don't know about mounting holes too (distance between holes).

Yea he mentioned the possible slippage at the top of the wheel. I was planning on putting some colored electrical tape at the top anyway. Maybe it will help? Thanks for the link too Zoo 👍

Apologies I misread.

LOL same current price than T500 RS. But Xbox compatible.

Well, based on the review, looks like it's down to option A or B, depending on delivery date of A. I really don't like the two piece plastic rim either. Anyone find any information on how the CSR works with PS3 and GT5? I hope at least as well as the GT2 and G27.

In fairness the CSR while a good wheel no doubt about that. I dont think would be to the smoothness and extra power of the T500RS. The reason as it uses very much what the GT2 offers in its power and delivery of the wheel. So yes you get X360 support at a similar price point but it will take the Elite I believe to offer a clear superior product over the T500RS on the X360 platform. The Elite pedals do offer the better brake though to be fair so by all means the CSR package does offer more for its money.

Im feeling positive that the Elite will better the T500RS personally.
Besides the best things in life are worth waiting for... :sly:

I noticed in the FM4 Preview of ISR, it shows what looks to be a CSR Elite. Now, a while back, Thomas told us that the CSR Elite would get a GT Rim, well the wheel behind Shaun looks fairly larger than a regular CSR Elite Rim, could it be the GT Rim we've been waiting for?

I don't expect Fanatecs un-revealed shifter to match the TH8 RS...its features just seem to go beyond what anyone was expecting (perhaps CSW and TH8 is the ultimate combo :)) But what I am curious about is if the Elite and CSW offer the same precision as the T500. Its amazing how every little movement of the T500 wheel is registered. It does however sounds like the Force Feedback may be matched. I'm also hoping it can return to center just as well.

If i did make the switch it would be because of overall game compatibility. Its a shame that when my friends come over they can't play several of my games with the T500. I also worry about future compatibility with the T500 and TH8. Although I should only worry about my own gaming habits, its still nice to share the fun with friends that aren't sim racing.

The Fantatec simply trumps the TS500 for me on consoles.
If only for the onboard profiler.

Plenty strong enough for me.
Personally I never run 100 FF. It would have to be pretty weak for me to crank up the FF.
Forza 3 and Race pro are probably the weakest FF I've played. I'm still not running 100 FF in either.

I Laugh when someone post up there settings. Normally it's starts like this.

FF 100
SHO 100.

I never really read beyond this point because if the settings went to 110 they would use that.

I prefer a more subtle feel.

Now on PC, never having used the TS500 I would say it would beat GT2 from what I have read.
Profiler not an issue here.

Fanatec owns consoles at the moment.
My opinion obviously.

I doubt it. I would imagine any rims they make for the Elite wouldn't look exactly the same as the stock rim. At least i hope so, otherwise what would be the point?
