I know what magnetic paddle is , I am using now , I just want to say the lowest small analog paddle are also designed magnetic feature , if you are releasing the clutch peddle , magnets may be added force to affect my releasing clutch timing .

Ps. Sorry for my bad English , wish you can understand

There also Springs on those paddles. So I think the magnets are there for the "snap" .

No worries, the bottom paddles are spring only no magnets same as the Ascher clutch paddles, so the magnet on the other paddles wouldn’t interfere with lever action.

In the screenshot, you can also see 2 smaller magnets behind the clutch paddles.

Spring + magnet

Evidently my slo-no watching didn’t pick up on those. Playing around with my spring paddles and then magnetic, the springs are soft on the initial push so perhaps the small magnets are to even out the feel in that first part of the travel?

If this magnetic paddle shifters are of the same quality as the Ascher-Racing ones the podium wheels are going to be nice, so much so that now I’m debating if I should get the DD1 for PS4, right now I use GIMX with the Bodnar 54 V2 system and don’t know if the PS4 DD1 would be better than my current setup.

Looking forward of your review , will you order it at once while they accept preorder?

How does GIMX work with the Bodnar and PS4?

I'm scared to think what price will be for one wheel. if today 300 € is worth some clabSport BMW GT2 500-650 € oh no it's insanely expensive almost like the present. as my mother-in-law says, you have to live life to the fullest, one you want to buy life! so I would have her positive.

If podium series wheel put the line above Clubsport series , and all using good material, such as Alcantara or full grain leather , CNC T6061 paddles + magnets , oled display, high grade buttons and encoders etc. it won’t be cheap , I guess around $450- $600 each .

918 RSR wheel cost $400 , but it is using normal leather or artificial leather , casted aluminum paddles with some steel structure , cheap led display , normal grade buttons , etc

Those paddles on the bottom are analog clutch paddles, not shifter paddles, so they have a spring for much further travel.
The question was why the had magnets on them because they are analog but my specualation having played with my own shifters is the small magnet evens out the initial “slack” in a spring only system.

I’m still debating on it, I have until pre orders go up for the PS4 version
Plus I don’t think I could make a good review it would either be it’s great or it sucks, lol

How does GIMX work with the Bodnar and PS4?

Actually it works with most wheels it makes them PS4 compatible, not only wheels but shifters, Pedals and button boxes as long as they plug into a computer via USB, GIMX makes the PS4 think a Logitech G29 is plug-in.
With my setup it works extremely well, It gives great FFB and road feel from curbs and road changes.

Ah gotcha, yeah it probably helps give the paddle a bit of a small break away click and return feel.

Is that wheel rim part of a new Uni-Hub or is it just configurable? I'm guessing the latter. If the guy with those well manicured finger nails could offer a tiny more detail on that aspect of the rim, that would be much appreciated.
;)

It looks like a universal hub just like the one for XB1

Also I just noticed in the pictured posted above that there are 3 bolt heads sticking out about 1/4” that fit perfectly in the 3 new holes in the DD bases that we thought were extra connections for the podium wheel rims

What you see is a wheel rim and the Advanced Paddle Module mounted on a regular Universal hub for Xbox.
Both will be available separately.

How curious, it looks like it’s part of the body in the video. Not really a new Podium rim then! :P

I didn’t really like the Uni Hub myself when I had one and it had an annoying habit of the buttons not working if I switched it into PC mode too soon after it finished calibrating, had to wait for a flicker of the green power light. PC rims only next time to avoid needing any switching me thinks.

I look forward to seeing the real deal Podium rims (with knitter switches) ;). Need something equal or better than what I currently have.

Think I’m gonna put a pre-order in after all with the new information, only question is DD1 or DD2 to compare to my AFV2...

Does the officially licensed PS4, DD1 base work on PC as well?

Can you remove the wheel from this PS4 base and put another wheel on it?

If I’m not mistaken the AccuForce V2 is only 13 Nm torque so the better comparison would be the DD1

Edit... Penn's post was already answered. Sorry for the quote alert.

I'm just flabberghasted that it's an add on kit for the current Uni-Hub. That was a jaw dropper. Very little indicated that it was an addition to the Xbox compatible Hub. But then again, I've never got a real good look at the backside of the current Uni-Hub.

Mounting holes are only the 4 side holes? Or are the signature 3 bottom holes on both of the podium bases? The info does say it the bases are compatible with all Fanatec Stands and cockpits. I'm probably going out on a limb thinking that includes the Clubsport Wheel Clamp.

This is from their website:
  • Supports Fanatec 3-hole mounting pattern (bottom mounting) and side mounting. Hard mounting to a cockpit is highly recommended due the high amount of torque.

13Nm holding 15/16 peaks so yes closer to DD1 but had they sold a more powerful one I would have got it. Which means the real question is, is the DD2 worth €500 more to me.

guys so bidding was on ebay? or fanathek put the price itself at 1000 €

you know I am happy that such price. of course I would like to less. but see I compare always with phones as people buy 1000 $ € per iPhone 8+ & x the base for yourself, you can allow! after all, we spend perhaps more time for it than phones :))

Fanatec set the prices
The auctions for the DD1 have not started but Fanatec said the price for those will not be higher than 950 euro/dollar and at least 100 units available for auction

With the DD1, a 2 year warranty is standard. A 3 year warranty is 99,99 euros extra and the 5 year costs 299,99.

With the DD2 you get better electronics and powersupply, carbonfiber cover and a 5 year warranty included for 500 euros more than the DD1.
