So I got the wheelbase and I am trying to assign functions to the F1 2018 game .... specifically steer left and steer right... for some reason the game is not detecting the wheel when I turn left or right... is there any trick to this? iRacing works perfectly.

Thanks @Racetee ! So I put the DD1 in Clubsport v2.5 compatibility mode and I am able to steer but the movements are not translating into accurate steering movements with the car.... is that something that I need to change in the calibration settings in the F1 game?

Awesome thanks guys - I updated the settings and put it in Clubsport compatibility mode.

I also read that to update the software you need to put the DD1 in bootloader mode. I believe I was able to update the software without doing this but who knows if I did it correctly. Definitely looking forward to a more user friendly software suite but so far the DD1 is performing perfectly on F1 & iRacing.

im stuck.

my DD1 is just flashing "cal" it says enter setup and press both sticks at the same time with the wheel shown.
i have the uni hub. press both sticks should L3 AND R3 but no go.
alright so my other ? was before i read the directions. now ive read them im still clue less

yea i press that it say setup 1. now what 2 buttons do i push
If you are using the Xbox universal hub press the LSB and RSB little buttons on top of the hub next to the display unit after pressing the tune button first.
Don’t know why but the front buttons on the wheel sometimes don’t work right

ive not got it worken yet. i had a thrustmaster t300.
ive tried with PC2 and f1 2018. its not right. iTS real light no FFB even with the toque key.

You need to set the Base into CSW v2.5 compatibility mode as describes in the manual and the QG.
i cant see were it says it the uni hub manual.
we need some good guides. i didnt find sim hub guy to be helpful hes as lost as i am

After drilling, mounting and real plug&play easy installation I just had about two hours of using the new DD1 wheel. So far only tried DirtRally 2.0.
For other sims like R3E, AC(C), Rf2 I want to have more time to familiarize myself with the new wheel.

I used the suggested wheelbase and in game DR2.0 settings but, sorry to say, they did not work (for me?). Wheelbase settings are good but the in game settings like sensitivity I had to turn back to 540 degrees and all the 'vibration settings' to 100 in stead of the very low values. First it was way to 'light'.

It feels a bit like driving a new car for the first time. You are used and knows you previous one very good and now you have to relearn how it feels, responds etc. And what a joy!!! CSL Elite was already good and now this DD1 is excellent. Apologies for maybe being (too) optimistic. That's me.
And if it was rubbish I would also mentioned that ;)

Too soon to fully draw conclusions but so far very satisfied with the investment.

A point of attention is that compared to the CSL Elite the position of the steering wheel itself due to flat horizontal mounting is in my case straight forward. The CSL Elite shaft is tilted a couple of degrees upwards. Maybe overtime I have to mount a sort of wedge to tilt the front of DD1 wheelbase slightly up.

BTW: my handbrake SQ1.5 is still connected via the v3 pedals.

Have you attempted to change the FF setting in the tuning menu on the wheel. It's set at 35% be default. Press the small button on the wheel to enter the tuning menu should then appear in the display, move the joystick to select FF and then twist the joystick to increase the FF setting.

ok. i read the setup by our good friend Dom.
https://www.fanatec.com/forum/discu...net&utm_campaign=General+Links&a_aid=gtplanet

Dom has the FFB at 40. with all his settings and the FFB at 100. its hard to turn. real hard. i tried hitting a wall at high speed
all i can say is dont have your thumb in the spoke of the wheel.
just in a half a lap in a gt3 car there is a big difference in the weight of the wheel

i need to put in some time getting the feel of it.

what i had wrong is in the project cars wheel setup. i had 2.5 as my wheel. i set to 2.0 like Dom said.. now it feels good i think.

fanatic needs to get a PC guy that knows his stuff with these DD wheels. to do a video for dumb *****.
i am getting mixed up with statements." like you need to set the base meaning the DD1 Wheel base i guess to a CSW v2.5 compatibility"

One question please with the torque key not inserted is the value still 35% of 100% torque ?

Without the torque key inserted the motor is limited to the same power as a CSWv2.5 motor which I believe is around 8Nm. You can still adjust the power by changing the FF setting in the tuning menu but I don't know if it defaults to 35%.

Well I spent all night testing out the DD1 so I'm exhausted at work today lol.

So far it's really great. It's such an amazing leap to go from a gamepad to a force feedback wheel but for some reason it feels fairly intuitive. Looking forward to posting a review once I put in some significant seat time.

Just noticed this, the DD2 does not have Fanatec on the side top like the PS4 version and DD1. I saw it on the web a while back but thought it would be on all the production models.
I would have thought Fanatec would have had that prominently displayed on their top end model. Seem a little "NAKED" without it...

Certainly a personal preference thing. I actually like the fact that the logo is not on the DD2. To me it’s a bit loud.

Did the plates come that way or did you paint them red already? Cool regardless.

Thats not true. Sorry. Without the torque key you still have 100%. With the torque key the safety barrier in your DD System get away and you have a bit more torque. The only way to cut down your DD to a CSw 2.5 is to set up an CSL Elite wheel to it with the bolt. Than you have limited power.
