Thank youWithout the torque key inserted the motor is limited to the same power as a CSWv2.5 motor which I believe is around 8Nm. You can still adjust the power by changing the FF setting in the tuning menu but I don't know if it defaults to 35%.

Like I said I have it and it works in game and in the PS4 Pro dashboard I just tried it just to double check, you use the funky switch (xbox logo button) for cross padYeah I read that, but the manual says its doesnt control the PS4 dashboard and you'll need the controller for that. I'm hoping thats changed by now. Waiting to hear from Fanatec suppor .
Perfect!!! Thanks!!!Like I said I have it and it works in game and in the PS4 Pro dashboard I just tried it just to double check, you use the funky switch (xbox logo button) for cross pad
This is what Dom from Fanatec say about the Torque Key:
Yes, the killswitch is an optional extra for the DD1. Please note we also have a 'torque key' in the box as standard that allows the user to limit the maximum torque output of both the DD1 and DD2, so this can also be considered a safety feature.
So this means without the Torque key you have still 100% torque and the torque key allows the DD1 and 2 to break up this safety system that your peak torque will be higher simple as that
That's wrong. You need the torque key to unlock the full force. It's included to remove liability for Fanatec in case someone gets hurt by the strong forces. By using it and unlocking the full force you accept that it's a risk you take to get hurt.
Do any of you with the DD1 or 2 have a GT Omega rig? I have the Supreme with the side supports and it works great for my T500 but I am wondering if the DD bases will be too much for it. If so I may be forced into either getting a 2.5 or a TS-PC Racer
Certainly a personal preference thing. I actually like the fact that the logo is not on the DD2. To me it’s a bit loud.
Did the plates come that way or did you paint them red already? Cool regardless.
Without the torque key I still can use 100 % force. But with a safety system that wont allow the maximum torque peak the wheelbase can produce
No idea what he is trying to say but to my knowledge you need the key to unlock the full 20Nm and without it you can only get 8Nm close to what the V2.5 can provideNot sure I understand you. How are you not contradicting yourself here?

No sorry you are wrong or only half right. Without the torque key I still can use 100 % force. But with a safety system that wont allow the maximum torque peak the wheelbase can produce. And you can trust me my friends 14 year old son nearly broke his dumb on my old csl elite. So you need always be safe with a DD also without the torque key in it. But you can believe what you want
Yeah but that 100% is different between when the key is in or out, you are wording it confusingly between the number on the display and actual power the base can provide. You are talking about the display number and they are talking about the actual power.
Language barrier right here I think.
Are you using the Uni Hub with a PS4?
It would be reasonable that they are. But sometimes developers make no sense ...The question is with or without the torque key is 35% out of 100% by default on the wheel settings are the same value ?
I have the gt art rig and get a lot of flex / vibration with the T500. I have a DD1 on its way so am going to temporarily reinforce it to cope. I will have an 8020 rig soon so that will cope no worries with the forces.Do any of you with the DD1 or 2 have a GT Omega rig? Anybody having issues with GT Sport? Twice Ive had to reset the base while playing. When the autodrive turns off, the gas and brake pedal dont work. Its happened in PS4 and COMP PS4 mode.
That hasn’t happened to me yet only thing that bothers me is the rattling vibration I get in the wheel but I’m beginning to believe it’s a feature since it only happens when I lock up the wheels
Yes it is a feature on all fanatec bases from GTsport sideThat hasn’t happened to me yet only thing that bothers me is the rattling vibration I get in the wheel but I’m beginning to believe it’s a feature since it only happens when I lock up the wheels
The wheel I was using is not supposed to have motors, it’s the Forza wheel with the Xbox universal hub but shinu said it’s a feature of the basesThe vibration motors in Fanatec wheel rims are activated by the ABS setting, along with the motors in the V3 pedals.
Unfortunately not all of these motors work well or are held in correctly or a combination of that and the frequency of the vibrations can cause them to make unwelcome noises.
If it is the motor you could try turning the ABS feature off to see if that stops it.
Thanks that puts my mind at easeYes it is a feature on all fanatec bases from GTsport side
The only (fairly recent) game that requires COMP PS4 mode is Project CARS 2. All the current popular sim racing titles for PS4 (including GT Sport) should just work in the normal PS4 mode. For those who have the PS4 edition Podium and are using it on the PS4....
What racing games actually recognize the new base as a Podium and what games need to be in CSL mode for this thing to even work?
My understanding so far is:
GT-sport: CSL mode
What about...
F-2018
Assetto Corsa
Project Cars 2
Yes we did. The controller UI can be a bit temperamental in KartKraft, but it should work. Have you tried running the base in 'COMP V2.5' mode?@DomB_Fanatec have you guys tested the DD1 with KartKraft? This is the only game right now which isn't working properly with the wheel.
