And now I'll point out to the kind ladies and gentlemen that you're FOURTEEN YEARS OLD and also claim to be an astronaut.

You ARE the Weakest Link...
Good catch.

Friday I rode shotgun in a E34 BMW ///M5, 260 kmh on the Autobahn, of course it was awsome but not that really spectacular, because the car was so perfectly quiet and stable and ballanced. I said was because we had a crash yesterday on the ring :(

Oh yes, 210 in an Opel Astra Diiesel rental car was also pretty good after that, going downhill :dopey:

Well considering you posted in the Cars in General forum I can see why they got on your case about it. I think you should stick to the GT4 forum.

There are no Porsches in GT4. This is also about REAL cars, as you would have noticed if you'd read any part of the thread.

So, you mentioned your top speed in a computer game in a car which isn't IN the computer game in a thread about real cars. And you did a similar thing in the thread daan highlighted. And I'm the "Tard"?

I remember when I was 14...

I meant in GT4 Tard.
You're not making a good case for yourself. First you randomly bump up a whole plethora of threads in the Gaming forum after I tell you twice to stop it, and now you barge into a thread about real life cars and call a member a "Tard" after he points that out to you.

my friend in jamaica did this with his mom's 328i... he said it was in 4th gear :scared:

as for me... 130km/h on some twisted country road in jamaica... which seemed pretty fast cuz the road was really narrow. but hey i'm only 17... thats good enough for me now

142mph and he took a picture while doing it, that doesn't seem to safe.

144mph! How much faster could it go! Is that your T-Bird in your avatar? I think it's one of the nicest one I've seen. 👍 Those '89 on T-Birds were so cool, I hate the current retro looking ones. :yuck:
I changed my avatar to my car. :)

5-speed Thunderbird SCs can go 149 mph before a speed limiter kicks in from the showroom floor, but my car is chipped and will go until my power can't overcome aerodynamic resistance. T-birds are quite aerodynamic, with a co-efficient of drag around .31. I would imagine I can go around 165-175 mph but I'm not sure. :scared:

Yours is cool, nice color. 👍 My coworker has a white one, it's stock and don't know what year though....
Edit: Rims are super nice. They match perfectly with your car. :) 👍

Thank you, I was picky about getting one in this color and it took me about a year to find one like this.

Hmmm, well I think a couple of full-size pics are called for:

damn. I wouldnt want to go 140 in a 4th gen Maxima. Does it have any mods?

The fastest I've gone is about 115 mph in my 90 Maxima. I would have gone faster, but remembered my tires are only rated to go 118 so I let off the gas pedal.
You should have no problem getting that gen maxima up to 130 mph. My 91 maxima has been to 125 and can go faster if I find some better tires. The fastest I have gone is 219 mph in my uncles 700 hp nova drag car but that was over a 5 mile stretch of road:crazy:. Most of that was slowing down. The first pass I drove to 170 mph scared the crap outta me but the second one seemed a lot slower in the passenger seat:)

And I wouldn’t think twice about doing it again:dunce:

Hit 70 last week... nothing to yall but when it's your first time driving hitting 70 is very exciting :)

BTW it was in a 94 Chevy Corsica :D

i guess since no one else will, i should do it.

i call BS
the fuel economy gauge is in the wrong place for the car to be doing 120mph +
and why is the traction control light on?

As a passenger- 140mph in my car (1986 Mercedes 560SEL) when my grandparents owned it, with my grandfather at the wheel

As a driver- I've had both my car and my grandparents' '97 SL500 up past 125...

Time for an update...

I got into it with some idiot in an Impala SS (one of the newer FWD supercharged V6 ones with 240hp) that apparently thought his car could take a huge tank like the 560.

Wrong.

He kept up with me until I hit 4th (at about 125mph), at which point I started pulling away from him. I let up at an indicated 140. Having made my point, I coasted down to 120, stuck it in 3rd and engine braked back down to 80. The idiot in the Chevy goes flying by me and nearly rear-ends someone. I laughed.

He gets stuck in traffic, I pass him (still doing 80...), and he manages to get out and (presumably in an attempt to save face), he tries to get in front of me again. I floored it, got a lead on him and held it to 100. At which point I let off again, watched him nearly rear-end someone else, laughed and waved.

But yes, my current record is 140mph or thereabouts.

For which car?
EDIT: N/vm. I see that in the BMW.

i have know idea... he just posted pics of it in our forum. i'll go ask him

and if the traction control light is on, what could that mean?? he had the car on blocks?

Most cars' traction control systems deactivate automatically after a certain speed like 80 mph or so. Or so I'm lead to believe, so maybe that pic is in fact fake?

135 mph in my DIESEL Alfa 147. It did take a very long straight piece of German highway to get it up to that speed (220 Km/h).
I love going to Germany to test a cars top speed. It's my real-life Test Course :dopey:

I just went out on a late night drive and was driving along a long, straight, empty bit of motorway and just opened my car up to see how fast it would go. I did about 185-190kph in my Mk1 VW Golf Gti. I'm not sure exactly how fast I was going because the speedo ends at 180kph and I was well past there. It was right at the top of 5th gear too.

he said that it's real and that he does it alot :odd: and he said that he doesn't know what you're talking about fuel economy gauge.

does it help if i say the car is a rhd??

I did 95 on the freeway to day coming back from work, that was the flow of the traffic though.

So your friend does close to top speed alot?
Good.

I'll be sure to stay away from Jamaica and him.
It only tells me that he's unsafe driver if he does it alot.
