Fastest I've been was a long time ago (passenger) in an M3 imported (not sure which model, the shape before the E46 whatever it is) from Germany to the UK with a few modifications done to it. Don't remember specifics it was about 140mph. Fastest I've drove (or rode in my case on my Yamaha DT 125 SM) is somewhere just below 85 (speedo stops at 85), on a country lane that is used as part of a rally stage sometimes for small local events. Thin road + night + bike + close hedges = huge sensation of speed without actually ridiculous speeds.

162mph last night in the passenger seat of my brother's HKS pre-owned and built JZX100 Chaser. The diff's very tight with the back skipping when you corner tightly, by god does it grip when you drop it even in the wet. Dropped it from 3k and there's no lag at all from the turbo, 0-60 in about 4.5ish, 480bhp at the flywheel. Selling the house anytime now, don't tell the missus!

Not me driving, but riding: 145 MPH (233 km/h) in my dad's '89 Camaro.

Driving: 85 MPH in a '02 Chrysler PT Cruiser. (This'll be higher once I get access to my own car and a dragstrip.)

About 105 now in the Civic., which was just redlining in fourth gear.

Fastest I've been going in a car was in a buddy's 5.0 early 90's Mustang Coupe. The speedometer is way off, but he said it was about 130mph.

Almost 120 in the GTI.

Wonder what would happen if you said to the cop "But officer, I wasn't joy riding, I was serious riding!"

Worth a try? :P No, DFW cops and the local areas are cracking down to the point that Rockwall's Chargers are now dark blue so they become hard to see at night.

Dallas, though, is "suicide". Trying to race there is just asking for one of their black, unmarked, Chargers to come after you. :grumpy:

Just hit triple digits twice tonight, the better one being about 115mph. Fifth gear, maybe 6500rpm? Still accelerating, but that's enough speed for me at night.

I don't own a car, but the fastest with me driving was probably about 80mph in a Ford Orion! lol

The fastest passenger ride in a car is about 125mph. I think a Saab 9-5

The fastest I have ever been was an indicated 180mph on my TL1000 Motorcycle.

And also approaching 180mph riding a friends CBR1100 Blackbird, though I may have went past 180, just that I did not look. After, I slowed down, I pulled off the slip road, went around a roundabout and the back tyre just stepped out and nearly highsided me. I parked the bike up and on inspection I saw oil all over the back tire and fairings. The bike had just been serviced by a Honda Dealer, and they did not put the head Gasket back on properly, and it blew. If I never would have decided to stop when I did, I may not be here now as I may have lost control of the bike!!

PS

Bike speedo's are a little optimistic, so an indicated 180,ph is more like a true 165mph

About a week ago, I did 124ish in my Buick Electra Park Avenue. I say ish because I don't know exactly. My speedometer only goes up to 85mph:sly: and I was told that I got it up that fast cause my friend was behind me in his Grand Am GT.

You mean 118?

That's where his limiter is ;)

Well, according to the Grand Am fan club of America, its 125.... Regardless it was the fastest speed that Buick had seen.:P
Oh but the bast part was he TOTALLY forgot he still had Winter tires on :D!

My speedo only goes up to 85 also, but I had it buried well beyond that in my Blazer. Took about a mile of straight, empty, smooth road, but I estimate I got it to about 100 MPH. Pretty impressive for a vehicle its size, if you ask me.

Indeed, though, haven't you ever thought of asking one of those nice looking black and white vehicles on the side of the road how fast you were going?:dopey:

Seen over 150mph in the Porsche on a few occassions, but I won't say where or when. Fastest I've ever been in a car is somewhere between 165-170mph in a tuned Sierra Cosworth (c.420bhp) many, many years ago, early hours of Sunday morning on the M69.

But 150mph in a car on an empty 3 lane motorway is just a matter of ignoring the consequences of getting caught... easily the most terrifying experience of my entire life was doing 160mph pilion on a Yamaha FZR1000EXUP... on a single carriageway country road.

I think i have done like 220-230 Kmph in my VW, but i did 260 Kmph in a MB S600, but that wasnt my own car. I really dont like driving that fast unless on the Autobahn but its still kinda scary, around 180-200 kmph is more comfortable.

Its an '01 RT/10 with a catback exhaust kit. At 520 hp and no traction control it doesnt need much more power

I can't believe I just saw this.

Sorry, I couldn't find one of them around-not that I was actually looking anyway. :sly:

I am now in the 100mph+ club with my Cuda :D

My friend told me about a really long stretch of empty road near his house so I decided to check it out. Being out in the middle of nowhere it is a bit bumpy, but I've been feeling the need for speed lately so I decided to try it anyway. I floor it and the road seems to get smaller and smaller even though I'm in the middle of the road. It starts to get sketchy but before I know it I'm at 100, 105, 110 and then I just had to slow down. Being the first time I've ever driven this fast, and also being in an old car, I was scared out of my mind. I've been at and past 110 a good amount of times as a passenger in modern cars, and I have to say it is a completely different experience in an old car. I don't plan on trying to hit 120 any time soon, but that place will be nice for doing some fooling around.
