I would still be happy to slot people into the Ladder, unless anybody has any serious objections.

if it helps I have had the game since launch so as an early adopter I feel I should get some leniency! Lol just joking. Judge me as you will! ;)

Well the goal is to get as much online participation as possible, so there's no question that you're welcome to take part. At some point we will have to close the TT & newcomers will just have to start at the bottom of the Ladder & work their way up...

To be honest having just had a go you may have to put me at the bottom anyway! Been a long time since I played this and I appear to suck...

The only option we have is to park along the side of the track at intervals, watch them go by and give a play by play to each other through coms.

Well unfortunately my G25 didn't arrive today and won't be here till Monday as it stands I intend to set a time tonight with the DS3.

Wish me luck...

Ok have to go out now, but got a 1.57.67, no clean laps yet though but its got me on the board!

I have posted the "new", revised rules on the first page. Hopefully, everybody will be happy with them. If they don't work well, we will try some changes in the future.

danjama: from the rules, you can see that you need to pick more than one track...

I wish to challenge biggles with the F430 challenge, i pick MONZA, SPA, CALIFORNIA & MAGELLO .

Biggles you set the time we can meet

I will be back ONLINE in 14 hours time. 10am Australian time.

I'll have a go at GT Niehder then, I'll sort tracks and cars with him but 250 testerosa and my 4 tracks spa, mugello, misano and hockenhiem, all 5 mins all dry.

This challenge is also for energiya and danjama, whoever accepts first I'll race them first!

Energiya, biggles is 4 places above you you'll have to at least take on and win Dnjama to be able to challenge him

Yes, ENERGIYA, I'm sorry to say this: but I'm one spot too high on the ladder for you to challenge. I'm thinking that at this point we should stick with the 3 spot rule & see how that works out.

I'm really looking for a challenge from mhm66 or danjama, as I have not encountered then much at all online yet.

I have thought about this last night while "sleeping" & have what I think is the great solution for the car choice issue:

the challenger proposes three cars, & the challenged racer gets to choose which one to race. I think this should be a good way to introduce a bit more variety in the racing.

I think that this rule needs some clarification:
"The default is: All assists, racing line etc. off. However, in a one-on-one match, racers are permitted to race with whatever assists they agree on in advance."
I think that it should read something to the effect that either driver can insist that all aids are off and if an agreement can't be reached that the default of no assists will be used.

I think that this was clear in the way I worded it. Your wording restates the basic principle (twice!). I guess the key word is AGREE - both racers must agree on what, if any, assists should be allowed. Failing that, the default is NO ASSISTS.

Oops sorry in that case i'd like to challenge mhm66 to a race of No assists, No line.

Vehicle: F40

Tracks: Redwood, Mugello Wet, Infineon, Hockenheim.

How's that?

Edit: Hey mate just seen your PM sorry i am late i didnt get out of work on time then missed my bus home and i have only just ate dinner!! I am coming online in 5 mins i hope your still there! Your track choices are fine, for the record ill state them here, along with my amended choices:

mhm66: California, Monza and Mugello

Myself: Infineon Wet, Redwood, Hockenheim and Silverstone.

Hope to see you.

I challenge RSRacer at CALIFORNIA / MUGELLO / MONZA & SPA.

The cars i pick are F430 challenge, 360 GT & F430 GT2

@ danjama & ENERGIYA:

The latest version of the "rules" states that the challenger must propose 3 possible cars - the challenged racer then picks one of these 3 cars to use for the racing. I really think this is a very fair way of dealing with the question of car choice, as the challenger cannot simply dictate which car is to be used. It will also help to introduce more variety into the racing.

Again, I hope everyone will find this solution agreeable.

Hey guys,

I've been busy, getting back to work, after a nice long vacation:sly:. (Check out the pics in my profile ;) )

What's the latest news in regards to this Online Championship? I haven't played in a while, but I think I'd be reasonably competitive. I've added a few of you guys to my buddy list on PSN already. Hopefully, my schedule will allow me to race with you guys online soon. 👍

hi all
i've just played danjama in my first challenge.
we had some good races but he beat me 5-2.
i wont blame the car but the f40 sucks:crazy:
some races where close but i made to many mistakes.
purhaps i have more luck next time.:)
to danjame.great racing.

Please see the above point about the car-choice rule. Challenger proposes 3 possible cars: challenged racer picks one of those 3 cars to use for the racing. This means that it's harder for the challenger to force you into racing a car you're not really happy with. (I'm not crazy about the F40 in FC either - kind of sounds like a super-charged sewing machine...)

I challenged Mingoturbo earlier today, & won 3 out of 5 races (the decisive event being Silverstone in the rain - we all know it never rains in Spain! ;)). However, I'm not sure Mingo had any idea what the ladder racing was all about. :indiff: Hopefully, my translation of the "rules" into Spanish will mean something to him!

Well i guess that means MH gets the choice of re-doing it with me proposing 3 cars, or let the results stand....i dont mind either way because i had fun. Sorry the car sort of sucks it's just one of my boyhood favourites :)

It's a shame you had a bit of a bad luck night we have had much better races before. Anyway, here's a detail of the results:

Race 1 California - This was a tough race and really we were both warming up. He started in front and i passed him once on the second lap but he passed me strait after and the whole race was pretty close. In the last lap i pushed juuust too hard trying to get past him and bumped him off the track. Of course i let him back in front and he won, which is fair because i hit him and he was the better driver overall.

Race 2 Monza - This was a good race. Within the first lap i passed him but then i went off at the large chicane and he passed me. Strait after this on the start strait i passed him (this was a great moment as i watched you out of my side window very close) and we were close up to the second chicane and then unfortunately he went off the track and was unable to recover. I won.

Race 3 Mugello - This race was very unfortunate because he made one mistake on the first lap and that was it really. I won. I know this race could have been much better.

Race 4 Infineon Wet - What can i say? He kicked my ass on this track the whole time, he was just flying. It was pretty close with me right behind him until the 3rd lap when i got a wheel on the grass and just spun at around 90mph, good fun in the rain. This track is a real challenge in the wet, good fun!

Race 5 Redwood - This was a strait forward one. I started in first and he was close to me until he went off at the second corner on the second lap which was a shame. He did well to regain alot of ground but I won.

Race 6 Hockenheim - Unfortunately he went off the track, dont remember which corner, but he was unable to recover fully and i won. Technically this was the end of the challenge as i had 4/6 but we wanted to race the final anyway because....well why not? We were having fun lol.

Race 7 Silverstone - He started first and we were very close until the 1st corner of the second lap when he entered the corner hot and went off so i made the quick pass and got on with it. good race. I won.

So overall i think we had fun, but we were both not at our best, i cant wait for the next time we meet. Then again that may be sooner if he wants to ignore these results? And by the way great racing in the 360 later your bloody quick in that thing! Please dont challenge me in it >:) Virginia was a messy one for everyone lol wont be picking that again soon! Misano was good fun though.
