I'll say this then my lips are sealed on the subject (unless provoked further, because I do love complaining, it's true).
The first question asked by every single person (literally) that I've shown my videos to (not involved in the league of course); has been "why are they all red", along with "I can't tell who is who".
I see this hack as the first possible way to remedy that. These aren't necessarily motorsports fans commenting; so asking why the Ferrari cars are all red is kind of ridiculous to us. Their point still stands and should be listened to. For anyone outside the league, it's virtually impossible to tell what the heck is going on because you can't tell who is who. There is no reason to stay tuned and invest time in a driver/team when you don't know they're on screen. I'm looking at it from a true Bernie E. perspective. As he is the guy who brings F1 to you. I'm trying to make it more immersive. I've tried to come up with a way of having team colors near our names on the leader board. If I got that to work it would tie in so nicely with that and expand the amount of people who would have interest.
Quite frankly, we may be at a point already where if a technical (spec altering) infraction is suspected, photo or video evidence will need to be used. If we got used to that now, we might be able to bring back the two compound tire rule. Wishful thinking, but as you've basically pointed out, we're already passed the point of no return on the hacking era. I think a PP limit is required now. I wish that would allow my Team Lotus F10 to drive in the WC, but it sounds like that isn't popular with anyone other than me.
