Because Turn 10 actually puts out a playable game in two years with lots of features that the community can use.

I'll take better physics and painting, tuning, parts, and auction house over stellar graphics any day of the week.

I agree, on occasion i've said some things to nomino and deve and misjudged them somewhat, but atleast they post on both sides of the coin, this guys just out and out trying to bait it out

Sorry...prefacing it with "I think what we can all agree on" was a bad idea.

Both of the pictures I uploaded are of the Peugeot 908. The first is very detailed and very accurate. The wheels are modeled nicely and the decals are all in high resolution. Then look at the second picture. Notice how the wheels are replaced with a 2D texture and the decals are muddy and distorted. I realize these aren't the best quality pictures, but you can still see a significant difference here.

GT5P doesn't have these problems.

Honestly, that one has been dealt with many moons ago, early build in-game with replay cameras causing massive LOD issue..

Anyone discussing the 458 anymore? Sounded like a good idea at first, based on the OP. Anyone think this is the best looking modern day Ferrari now?

Theres a thread in the automotive discussion forum to discuss the merits of the cars design 👍

Read ANY article again showing PD pulling a fast one by showing 3D model images (including the official PSblog) of a car that is NOT in the GTPSP game in any fashion of quality similar to what they released as screenshots.

Spin as you will, but both companies are deceiving the consumer.

Not really. If you registered under press on the PD site and downloaded the press material you could see actual in game pictures, with aa problems, bad rear mirror reflections and so on. So, just to recap, the first GT5P pics were in fact in game pics. Later pics were a mixed bunch...photomode and in game shots.

Turn 10 on the other hand only released photomode shots.

Turn 10 only recently released direct captures. PD still did not. But, on the other hand they released GT5P...so consumers do know what the game looks like.

Either way, I do not think that any of them are deceiving the consumer..that much.

The 458's cockpit is beautiful. I want to take it around the lemans track and the Nurburgring. I also want to have a silver, red, and black one in my garage.

Hope you guys know this thing has been GLORIFIED! 10000x over..

The gameplay imagery will be look great! but not as good as that, maybe years to come on the actual NEXT GEN console ps4-ps5 u will see game play imagery look exactly as that video.

I have a feeling it will be a slight better then gt5ps gameplay gfx, but still have that horrible AA shadowing :( as seen on the WRC looked horrible.

LOL at the cell cam photo of off screen video in motion.

What, are you expecting an HD shot direct from the source? The only people who release those are Turn 10. For all we know, they could have "touched up" those in-game videos too.

Plus, it's pretty easy to see, even with the low resolution of the photo.

It does look stunning in real life and in GT5. So with this and the Mercedes being confirmed will the new Mclaren be included

When I hit the lottery, I still plan on getting a 599, white to be specific.

Good choice sir. I do love the 599. I am getting pretty partial to this 458 though.

The only problem I have with the cockpit is the plastic instrument protrusion coming out from the right side of the IP. I know it's not plastic, but it looks cheap, and bolted on for some reason.

We will agree to disagree :)

If you look at the T10 video (now in HD at FM.NET), there are many many many artefacts with LOD and aliasing etc that really don't suggest remotely any 'touching up' has been done, it's quite low rent in a few places, it only gets high LOD when 1 car is on screen stationary, and even then, all the same modelling issues and crappy head/tail light rendering are all present..

I really do think that what you see in the T10 vids (not photo shots) is what you get, and it'll never stand comparison to the much more polished and superb high LOD moments of GT5/p..

I just want to make some quick comments from the video in Post #67. That desert track kind of reminds me of Willow Springs. That Ferrari looks awesome in those pictures. Fantastic job!

I would love to see some sand from that desert track blow onto the track, and then have it rooster tail from the back of a car as you sailed through it.

Ouch...that's quite a kick in the baby makers, i think Dan and Che needs to see this.

Just look at the original images and sources, and see exactly why one will be at a low LOD with the crappiest off-screen capture, and the other a very much max'd LOD with a much better camera and then tell me this isn't the most blatant example of taking the worst you can find of one game and comparing to the best you can find of the other, which is really so naively stupid, it beggars belief..

why would you want to demoralise them further? After seeing the GT E3 2009 trailer they probably wanted to sink slowly into the ground.

When it comes to graphics gran tursimo has and probably will never have an equal.

Just imagine if PD decided to shrink the number of cars to 8 on track

That would indeed be awesome..

I'm hoping that the Subaru WRC uber high LOD E3 trailer footage is actually some single car super graphics mode in the game that will give some truly awesome jaw dropping visuals..

Some people will never see what's in front of them, no matter how much proof you provide.

I wish it really looked like that in GT5p though when playing :grumpy:
Well for it to look like that in GT5p gameplay you would have to have the 360 camera features with zoom. which gt5p does not have lol.... or get up close beside or infront of some one and take a pic like so.

and there you go, one Nice Detailed "ingame" shot :D
