Since we are at it,

Lap 22 end of lap
Gilles went 4 wheels out of track without lifting off to get a better acceleration out of corner and pass me.

Nothing major but a car that exceeds track boundaries should lift off and quite a few drivers abused the runoffs.

Might have costed him that 0.7 seconds i missed lol

Btw GV u had no more fuel or no more rubber?
To be quite honest with you karsten, although it is wrong i agree, i watched the replay in full and quite a lot of drivers did that from time to time, however our guys would lift off if they have overtaken while out of bounds illegally.
Do you want this as an Incident report ?

Round 11 Grand Valley Speedway

Race Report

Qualifying:

Didn't do so well in the first couple laps, I suspect just waking up didn't help :P. Pitted for a last lap dash and to my surprise popped up in 5th!! Made me keen for the race ahead, especially with no rain to ruin me! I just had to hold a good race.

5th

Race:
Making sure I stayed as close to the top 4 on start as possible, I managed to break away from @TazRacing behind me and was running on my own for the first stint as I could see the top 3 having massive battles. @GT_Vette seeming to drop pace slightly after the first 6 laps I so I had begun to ever so slightly catch him back and then even the leading 3 towards the end of their shorter stints. Watching the gap to the leader carefully, I figured I was keeping the same pace as @SRT DK Racing (gaining sometimes on SRT at the end of the stint) and could hold the same stint duration as he was so decided to keep to that plan. It was a few laps longer than @xChris93_ , @SkengD and Agro, so it had begun to have an overlap effect which made me very hopeful to be on the podium for the final stint run, possibly having to fend off one of the fast boys but I knew their speed dropped off quickly.
First stint done and drop back out to 5th a few seconds behind SRT (gaining slightly in the pits I think) and Agro. With an overlap of pitstops I was able to keep the same pace and then gaining on the leaders as I had fresher tyres and then they pitted. I knew it'd be an epic see-saw battle across the race but I was really enjoying being able to keep with their times, a few seconds behind on the road given, but keeping them in sight is always encouraging ;).
Holding composure through my first couple stints with near no mistakes to my excitement, I was tracking well to my plan I felt.

Lap 21 came along, both pitting at the same time but a lap down, I began to quickly catch @Stephen Vann a lap after into the fast esses over the crest of turns 3 and 4. Eager to stay in touch with Agro a couple seconds ahead in 3rd, I had already decided from turn 2 that I would pass Logic down the inside perfectly into the Turn 5 hairpin.
It all happened so fast, I suspect Logic not expecting me to be right behind him so suddenly; I approached him out of Turn 4, aiming out of the corner for the outside and the subsequently the inside into 5 as he was already partly on the racing line. But just as I caught him, he actually then went to go offline to let me pass, but that's where I was already. Swerving drastically to avoid the backend of the bright pink car, I then lost it into the left hand concrete wall giving myself front left damage.
I'm thankful I didn't hit you dude, no hard feelings, was just a very fast part of the track, slightly blind in fact and we both had different ideas to make it easier for each other :P, my mistake I should've been more cautious lol.
Anyway of course decided to pit but this ruined my brilliant plan and the start of my gains on the leaders as I was only 2 laps into my stint. I effectively put myself back onto their stint runs and had a hard time making any sort of gain before my tyres died out.

Some nice little battles with @TazRacing as I had to pass him after each pit stop for the next couple stints. Think I was on well fresher tyres than you so it wasn't exactly a fair fight ;). Even had a chance to be back in touch with @kossu who had made nice ground after his unfortunate lap 1 mistake behind me, he was ahead in 3rd returning from a pit stop. I shamefully dropped a wheel on the run into the dog leg corners of 6 and 7. Chris hot on my tail after that. on green tyres he quickly caught me.
Heading into the last 10mins I was running 5th a few laps into a stint, I decided I would wing it and run to the end knowing my tyres will be quite gone by the last couple laps. I was so sad to see Kossu ahead in 4th lose it on the last corner and hit the pit entry barrier, that's a real shame man you made a great race after your first lap spin to get back to 4th.
Agro also pitting I reached third but I had Sken closing in after making a pit stop a few laps ago.
A great litre scuffle mate, I knew your tyres were dying off by the time you caught me but you just had that little more pace on me and I gave it a little easily to you with less than 3mins remaining on the run into turn 1, you had massive slipstream on me ;). I was hoping I could catch you on the last lap or so knowing how much more your grip dropped off, which I was able to stay on your tail for the next final lap until we had Agro catch us by the first tunnel. Gave me a little bit of grief out of it and into the hairpin that runs into the next tunnel before the bridge, tagging my left rear as I bravely defended. I'll give you a massive handshake dude, appreciate you giving me the spot back for the final last turns and the chequered flag for 4th, there is no incident there in my books but I wish it could've been a sweet battle between the 3 of us for the rest of that final lap ;).

4th

I'm yet to find that perfect race where I have nothing go wrong for me lol. Another 4th to add to my season's high, I'm very happy with that race though, a big bag of points after a couple DNFs and a bad run at Suzuka, but another missed shot at a podium.
Congratulations to the winners @SRT DK Racing @xChris93_ and @SkengD you guys even though are weighted down and I suspect not fun especially with that tyre wear, are still mega fast and it's tough to be up there and stay in touch.
Was a great race imo overall, aside the first restart drama it all went without a hitch and I very much enjoyed it.

@azidahaka I'm sad to see you struggle so much mate. I'm sorry I haven't been the most supportive team mate lol, but I don't know what I'm doing differently to find pace easier than you?

Race.
Congrats for podium guys.
yesterday race is great :)
race start is good but my own mistakes for first lap brake too late cost me few place and time. im trying to catch up for top 5 guys. maybe half race remaining my pit stragety is working and maybe few laps im a leader :)
But the tires were already in the final stage.
And pubs drive behind me. And 10min left to finish watching #sken going to pit and im thinking yay im 3 but... i dont no what happen to mee last corner Left tires touch the sand or grass and im spinnig and im trying to stop the spin but no my Car slid into the pits and extra stop.. this episode cost me in few place and im in finish line 6 :) very good race guys and #pubs You have improved a lot :)
What happen behind me? Never see #logi parked??
sorry my bad english but hope everybody understand.
Thanks mate :) I'm only just recently finding how to drive this Lexus fast and the combination of now having my G27 for 4 months.
I'm sorry again to see you off into the pit wall like you had to lose a great result.

Gueven it was great to see you in the mix there, and i think that you guys with the often laggy and dont see each other connections, ie TNT, PUBS, Srt, and Gueven, who all restarted their routers just before coming online, then clearing the cashe before coming in the room must have helped, as we have never had such a smooth room with 15 in it and specially with our Gueven in the race, so hope to see you training for Motegi Gueven, as you are welcolm to join, just as many of you as can, restart your routers before coming online, specially when you know there will be full rooms [ wow dont i go on and on]
Agreed welcome back @Gueven Art! It was great to see you in a whole race :). A shout out to @cedbel, you seem to have improved a lot from DS3 to wheel! :).

First time I had reset my router before a race and yeah seemed to help a lot. It's my housemate's crazy setup so I've been too scared to touch it, but was able to this morning and will try it again next week. Hopefully it runs smooth again because that was great for 15!

Apologies this is long lol.

Apologies this is long lol.
Long is good pubs, i always love your race report's.
The incident with lapping me, yes, i was mortified. My race was already in complete tatters so i was just hoping to run round and get a point or maybe 2 lol.
I had you and Agro both coming up to lap me not far apart and i moved aside for Agro, and all went well.
Then your turn came along and i was making sure that when you were close enough i would just stay offline and lift.
I was well excited for you fighting near the front, so i was even happy to leave you the grippy dark line into the hairpin.
As i crested the corner before i just lifted and kept to the right, and hoped you would take the natural line to the wider swing into the hairpin, but a big crash and oh my, i was mortified, i just about stopped myself from texting and apology.
And you seemed to go off again after so i hoped you were not to damaged, but man you must have a solid front bumper, my car was wrecked, rear wheels and gearbox and engine, almost had to ghost to the pits as it was undrivable, but anyway, glad you didn't have the same damage as i did or you would have been very mad at me.
You did great, and glad to see you up there with the fast boys.

Oh man! :(. So I DID hit you????
On my view I had justt missed you, I was sure! Because I only got front left damage from going into the wall. On your end of the connection I was obviously closer then...

I'm so so sorry then, I had hoped that your retirement wasn't because of that and I feel so badly now.

Thanks mate :), but feels a little bittersweet learning your side now lol :(.

Lol, my race was over quite a long while before that really, i had only long run pace for long stints and that was slow, so no room for any errors in anyway, but i had already made the error that cost me a lot of time, hence why i was almost a lap behind before we came together.
Dont feel bad, as you lost out from it and it was a genuine misunderstanding.

Damn  the winning streak is over but I reckon the race yesterday was one of the best for the championship. It was really exciting throughout, tbh I wasn't feeling well either so I was just trying to grind out a result. I was exhausted afterwards :P The last stint I gave it my best shot to try to catch SRT and was driving on the limit but I was one lap too late to get him, I was hoping the pressure would get to @SRT DK Racing ;) I was catching up during my final stint at something like 3s a lap so well done to keep it together man, nice job 👍

Agro definitely done me a favour I think by holding SRT up for a while at the start by the looks of it so that allowed myself and Skeng to pull away and our pace was pretty good at the halfway point. Sken probably due to being slightly lighter had better tyre wear than myself so he had an advantage on me and for sure it would've been a good race to the end between us, with myself being the underdog I think.

But in a moment of craziness when we were battling together and approaching to lap Fili, Fili parked his car on the apex of the fast last corner where my tyres were at 4/5's. So I had to swerve to avoid him which forced me onto the grass and hit the wall which gave me severe front end damage. I think Skeng had similar issues with Fili and had to pit on that lap which ruined his strategy. That moment definitely ruined the race between us but I managed to limp home with good pace with a new set of softs and maybe lost 5-10s.

Clearly that was enough to cost me the win but I don't want to file an incident report because it was obviously an accident and wasn't malicious. Looking forward to the next one now, it was brilliant to see 15 cars on the grid so hopefully we can replicate or better that for the next one! :D

Also just a small thing but can we try to stop typing during the quali and race, it's pretty distracting imo and not really fair to others who are still in the race. You can do your talking on the forum afterwards.

Rubber 0 at the front lol

Q Session

Had a change of heart after seeing other driver's best laps and reverted to a previous setup that i knew it would be better on tires. Doing so last min wasn't the best course of action, so i had to re-adapt to the setup i chose last min and i got the best time at last attempt, 5th lap. 14th time just a bit behing @RodeRuner1967 and in front of @Gavin Vickers but i knew i would be good in race.

Race

Started safe as i always do everything was smooth until i found a wall of smoke and many cars slowing/damaged around. In the mess i collided i think with @filipino1234 . Massive damages, no choice but to make the 3/4ths of laps remaining to reach the pits. At the bridge split i was already 54 seconds down >_> More or less my usual evening :D

I pitted, calmed down and restarted head down attempting to make my stints longer. I had a massive advantage in tire management even over lighter drivers and i managed to usually make my tires last 2-3 laps more than @gillesthegt6 TNT, @Gueven Art @TazRacing and @cedbel

Issue is that i had first box so i had serious issues choosing the fuel amounts and i'm pretty sure i lost a few seconds like that. Oh well. After some laps i understood that my long stints were giving me a formidable long term advantage and i started climbing position steadily. I knew that i would have to fight with tnt, gueven, gilles for position, but i also knew that they were killing their tires incredibly fast.

In the end i think i had one pit less than they all did (always running on RS) and with 10 minutes to go i too a gamble and pitted one last time for rubber and extra fuel safety (long track lol).

Again i had a perfect call and i stormed back over tnt and gilles that managed to top me by half a second last lap. I had great battles with gueven too but i had tire and pit advantage so i could control the situation and top him. BTW guev great comeback!

All in all i finished 9th i would usually be disappointed but i had one of the best driving i had ever had. Sure watching the standing and knowing i lost over 50 seconds first lap it would have meant i could have topped snake and fought even with kossu makes for some disappointment but having got back from 14th to 9th is something i never expected for it means i basically recovered 30 seconds in the race on most of the grid.

@Pubs16 again congrats mate! Don't be sorry for our teamwork and my pace, i had what i needed today if it wasn't for the early crash i would have got another season-top result for me. Also i guess this car and tuning enable doesn't make me much better than this no matter what :D Also i knew how fast you were; i shouldn't have been considered a top driver in team formations but i knew you were fast, faster than me ;)

For all the guys who suffered from my aggressiveness

Yes i know this was one of my agressive race ever normaly i am very clean. But with the combo of hating this track bad qualy and pressure to perform. I agree with you full 100%. I am very sorry i wont be agressive next races/season

L
incident reports need to be posted here before 16.00 today.

INCIDENT BETWEEN ? and ?
LAP ?
turn ?

thats all no other comment - Fili i need your report in that format please.
Lap 3 turn 5 (second 180 deg right) GVilleneuve and cedbel + gueven

I
Great win Srt, in fact a great great race, i watched all the action from a picnic area i found, and just was so dissapointed i was not involved, great battles and stint lengths all over.

Chris a great second place, another couple of laps and who knows?

But so many great dices with a few guys ahving the lead for a while here and there, i am just so so pleased it all worked out well and no DC and no real lag issues.

I will be working out a nice mix of weather for you all next week, so we have something exciting to look forward to like Suzuka was, rather than the Floods we used to have.

A couple of notes, Cedbel, lots of bumping me today, not hard but not nice, im old so dont rough me up, i would make an incident report, but i know you only had your wheel a few days now, so we will use that as and excuse this week, but next week no chance, you will get reprimanded.

Gvillenuve, i know you dont alway's read this forum, but i hope you do ead this, you need to calm your driving down a lot, you are over agressive and you had contract with at least 5 cars in the first few laps, and these were not mistakes or slight errors, these were disregard for other drivers and you did not care what your actions caused, in your eagerness to get past them. There may be further acton taken after stewards reviews, but for now i can say that we wont have over aggressive driving full stop.

Anyway, it was a very good race.
I have to admit, it didn't feel like I was bumping you that hard but watching the replay, you're right. My bad. I'll tone it down a little and try to find better areas to pass.
It was the first time I actually battle with someone to overtake. I have to get used to it (yeah me!!!)

STEWARDS TO REVIEW - INCIDENT 2

GV- cedbel -gueven Turn hairpin lap3
GV forced into inside of them on hairpin with contact.

Stewards will review and post back later.

Yeah lol it looks epic fingers crossed the driving physics are good. Gran Turismo developers will really need to up their game to beat it I reckon, but we'll wait and see. Nothing will ever beat how cool the first gran turismo games felt to play like when I barely knew how to drive when I was like 5-6  but I don't think I'd get the same feeling if I was starting out again in gt6 for example, I still love the game but gt5 and gt6 just haven't been as fun as this imo the game's kind of lost it's edge..... Polyphony have to go back to basics and hopefully GT7 will be epic.

Ridge Racer Type 4 was the best though!!!

chris u wrote - when I barely knew how to drive - so many years and you still cant drive , maybe u should do something else than play granturismo ? 💡 just kidding m8 , but i think u know that , thx for the race yesterday , it was fun

I know :( I've improved just a little bit over the years though! :D
Slowly getting there! ;)
any PRO tips?

Yeah it was a fun race mate, you should try it up here with the heavy boys and see how u handle it though. No one respected Vettel much for winning in a far superior car to everyone else :P It would be a better test for you rather than false impressions due to 150 kg weight difference. You've shown good enough pace so far to give it a shot at least.

I'll concur massively with this. It's highly annoying especially when it brings nothing since nobody is going to stop and write back, so why bother.

@Pubs16 again congrats mate! Don't be sorry for our teamwork and my pace, i had what i needed today if it wasn't for the early crash i would have got another season-top result for me. Thanks brother! :). I'm glad to hear you really enjoyed yourself then! And yes great gains from your start position. A lot of if's, but's and maybe's in Motorsport ;).

Tuning for me is a matter of trial and error, with my real world knowledge of car tuning, it confuses me a bit when it comes to some of the broken aspects of suspension in game so I gave up on what I know and go off what I'm feeling from trial and error to adjust :P. Shucks mate! Means a lot to hear that from you, I would say we're pretty even ;).

I've been watching loads of these videos it's were I want to be Chris so realistic GT7 will be un sold lol
How can you say that when there is absolutely nothing confirmed for what GT7 will hold?
Yes they have big competition now with PCars but let's wait on comparisons until there is something to compare, imo.

BUT, in saying all that I'm also looking forward to it releasing next week! I'll be jumping on it but with no wheel unfortunately :(.
