I had to move to the Japanese stream for now until the audio gets fixed. Even if I don't understand what they're saying, hearing Keiichi Tsuchiya commentate brings me back to the old D1GP days.

Edit:
Looks like the audio is fixed but can still hear the Japanese commentators but not as loud as before.

Ah, finally I'm going to see Nik_Makozi in action :mischievous: But knowing the others I think I will see him doing a calm and relaxing trip into the repec......

"Nik_Makozi proceed to DOMINATE the race"

NOOOOOOOOOW I see why this kid is overhyped to death

Is there any place where I can see the list of participants, listed by regional ranking position?
I think it might be useful to follow the finals.

thnaks

Currently watching this about 3 hours behind but it's great to see that the races are long (for example a 17 Lap Gr.3 race) as opposed to some 5 Lap race like we've seen so often in previous events. With short races, it becomes far too much about qualifying, and the qualifying has often been on really odd combinations too.

EDIT: Also the focus on Driver Names but with a smaller Username inclusion is perfect.

I thought it was an older lancer evolution but glad i was wrong. Can't wait to rock the rally livery!

Also great job to Adam Wilke! Very intense and with the Z too!

One problem with this format is that you see the best drivers less due to the automatic Top 2 qualification (well, you'll see them at the World Finals too)

Jimmy and Chris did a brilliant job in the circumstances. They should've done the Manufacturers Exhibition event first to test things like audio level out, as that was a joke to start off with. Also spending at least half an hour sorting out the repechage killed the momentum which was nicely building after 2 enjoyable races at Bathurst and Fuji.

Would've been acceptable if said repechage wasn't a joke. All the top Japanese drivers fighting for 2 spots in one, and Holl miles faster than everyone else in the other . All us guys at World Tours have been crying out for N class races to be One Make if they insist on them, as it is so unbalanced it makes a complete mockery of them wanting it to be 'fair'. Tsukuba being an abysmal track for actual racing wasn't a shock either.

Worried for a lot of the 'top' EMEA guys like Lightning in the Regionals. Turns out that the Le Mans race was actually worth something after all, and also him having to start in the autospin position in that race means he'll be starting midpack with an average at best car selection. At least the races are long enough to recover!

I had a nightmare of a practice day. Couldn't come to grips with the T-GT at all, and didn't know whether I would be using it or the DS4 for various reasons until very late in the day. I eventually got my wish of the DS4, but the ordeal must've shaken my confidence as I didn't set the lap times I was capable of in the race.

I wasn't even in the right mindset to do an interview during practice day, leading to that awkward moment where they introduce me on stream and... no voiceover. To make matters worse, I even lost my hotel keycard and was too embarrassed to go back for dinner once I got a replacement.

At least the trip can only get better from here.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity so make the most of it, spend your time with others, have dinner and make it as fun as it can be

It was an achievement just to get into the event so put it into perspective and go and have a good time.

I know from experience that there are loads of great places in tokyo to unwind so theres really no excuse.

On a lighter note, let's talk format...

I was hoping they'd give us free choice of car, but if they were going to do a draft, group 3 was the best group for it. I don't think any of the ten drivers in my block ended up with a bad car per se, though obviously the Jaguar and FGT had a slight advantage. Didn't stop Cody Nikola Latkovski from bossing it.

Shame about the lack of qualifying, but with the time constraints I understand why they chose to forego it in favour of long races. But they really should've told everyone that their rank would be vital during the final season instead of withholding important information regarding the championships.

They made the Mediums and Softs last longer than they do in the current retail build, which added a couple more layers to an already interesting strategic race. I like this three compound system, makes the races more exciting compared to 'save fuel, overtake in pit-lane'.

N300 BoP was adjusted to be fairer, but there were clearly still issues, like the MR2 being pretty rubbish and the R32 winning both races. Maybe they should just stick to group 3 if they insist on car drafts.

Speaking of which, tomorrow's championship was also preceded by a car draft. So yeah, put your money on Akagi/Ryota Kokubun to win it.

Ayaya!

Can the audio thing be sorted out?Was it inevitable because the main broadcast had the japanese commentators audio?I don't expect this problem to happen in the EMEA and Americas broadcast because the english version is the main version there.

I put the Spanish livestream on and the Japanese audio is there but lower than the English broadcast.

That Kyoto race was awesome, seeing the beetle fight fighting with the Supra and the Aston Martin was great

Can someone at Tokyo please confirm if you guys had qualy prior to race 1 that should determine grid positions, or did final season rankings determined both grid positions and order of car choice for race 1,the most important race of course!

Final season ranking sets starting position for blocks/repechage races and also car choice.

Wow that is an absolute joke. I will wait for our race details from Tom in the next week or two before saying anything, but this competition lost any sort of credibility right there and now. Will definitely need to rethink my choice and if I even want to attend regionals and world now....

Yes it is a bit of a joke but you don't want to pass on an opportunity like this, take it from me as someone who finished 8th in both of my races

The racing is always good in these events but the event as a whole isn't as impressive and tight as the Red Bull World Tour, the Japanese commentary in every stream seriously hurt the broadcast,it's less worse in later races but it's still annoying.

Gotta say the Australia Block Mount Panorama race was fantastic, lots of overtakes, clean driving and seeing cars racing with different tire compounds is very entertaining keeps you guessing which driver has the winning strategy.
