Using Le Mans as a seeding puts those competing in Manufacturers as well at a massive disadvantage. Just finishing Le Mans guaranteed you a Finals Spot yet Interlagos in Manufacturers was all or nothing, so people naturally practiced it much more.

i know the BOP for road cars is all over the place but it's very entertaining to watch

Think how much better they would've been had it been One Make. The closeness of N races but with all the pack close together rather than just a lead battle of 2 cars miles up the road

Try and drive with a controller while a wheel is connected, you can use it for menus, you absolutely can't use it to drive

You are right, I tried and you can accelerate and brake with DS4 but not steer.
I didnt know that.

10 Fiat 500s grid at the Nordschleiffe let's do this.

I think its very positive that they allow DS4.

It wasn't very fair to the pad drivers to be forced into something very different when they use the main interface what perhaps 95% of the GTS players atctually use.

Btw, would be quite interesting to know how many in % use actually a wheel though

Other DS4 users will have it a lot easier now that the precedent has been set. The wording on my documents suggested that everyone would have to use the T-GT, leading to me trying to learn on a T80 back at home only to fail miserably once force feedback and higher steering lock were introduced.

I don't know how other controller players did it back at the World Tour events. Also, I can't under stress the importance of practice day, because a bad one made me second guess whether or not I even deserved to be there, and led to me being rather hesitant in the race itself. I also overshot Forest Elbow trying not to hold Holland up, which pretty much ended my chances of battling for 8th at the end.

It's a shame that I failed to even make the repecharge, but I am feeling better now that my part in this is over. Now I've got to try and get even better at the game in the hopes of doing this again next year.

I don't know if I'm staying on the DS4, as I felt that I had come close to maximising my potential on it during the online portion of the season. But I also know that faster controller players exist, so it's hard to say whether or not a proper wheel would actually benefit me, seeing how I was the one guy who couldn't make the T-GT work.

Wow that is an absolute joke. I will wait for our race details from Tom in the next week or two before saying anything, but this competition lost any sort of credibility right there and now. Will definitely need to rethink my choice and if I even want to attend regionals and world now....

I would have liked to have known also, as I got dc'd in the last race which cist me about 12 positions in final standings, which put me in bottom half of grid. Talking with the guys here, they have the bonus point races in place to allow a sort of catch up for drivers missing early season races. I dont mind the theory, but the multiplier was so large at la sarthe you couldnt afford to miss it. A smaller multiplier would be fine if they wanted to continue this way so your season doesnt begin or end on a dc/bad race in the final.

Man...i understand your points but i have to say,my favourite races in all these events have been the N-Class races, the interlagos race at the Nurburgring event and the Fuji race at the Red Bull event(that photo finish),i know the BOP for road cars is all over the place but it's very entertaining to watch,i also loved the X2014 race but making all races use the same car would be boring to watch.Of course that's only my opinion,i also don't like how randomness could hurt the broadcast.

The BoP was tightened up for the event. The current build there was a spread of more than 3 seconds across the cars, where here in tokyo there is approx 1 second. Not perfect, but not bad either.

I belive 4 drivers from 30 used the pad. And a couple of pad drivers used the wheel, so roughly 20% of drivers here are pad users.

Even if you use a wheel, there is a learning curve, some players got it straught away, and some never got it. I was getting there, but not enough seat time for me personally to where I was on my pace. But a learning experience and something I will be working on for next year

That theory doesn't even work in EU though due to the 3 driver limit so it's still strange to have the crazy multipliers :(.

There was even one Japanese guy using pad with motion and doing alright.

In terms of the seeding for the repechage you basically order all of them by online ranking, and from the top go A B A B ...

Also not sure if it was mentioned before as I have only skimmed through the last page of posts or if it was obvious, but grid order determined the car selection order. Repechage practice was also weird we got 20 min on Friday before anyone knew who was in repechage and what car we would use so the winners were pretty much determined by online ranking as the top 2 in each got to use the skylines, and the rest had to adapt.

Oh and on the boots, I actually bought some puma sneakers a few months ago so I used the sizing from those. In the online registration from the email invite they ask for European size so if you are concerned about tight shoes maybe try some puma shoes in person at a store. They are a bit tight but that's how racing boots are. After the first day once you wear them in it's alright by race day. You really need to get the sizing right because they are custom ordered and they didn't have any spares for us.

They should have told you that the final season 3 results will effect starting place of the first race in the regionals. But I guess they didn't knew it themselfes by that time :)

About the events, If I was you I would really be pissed off with the philosophy of effecting one race result to the starting position of next race. And if that would be not enough, the right to chose the car is also connected to the first race. If you would have known this, maybe you had prepared yourself otherwise during season 3, because some did already know before the last races that they were qualified.

This has nothing to do with the healthy dose of brutality of being in a competition. Instead it opens the way to be randomly who will be in the front at the end.

I really would like to partcipate in the decision- meetings of PD, what could the criterias be?

Why not a 10min qualifiying before a race? It would be in total 20 or 30 minutes! And if they want to chain the race results to each other, then it should be visa versa, like we do in our lobbys.

These are the basics over years to find out who is the best. Or do they try to spread artificially thrill to it on cost of being reasonable? Are they afraid that some few names would dominate then? Don't they know that a sport need stars to get more popular, and therefore that this would be actually good for sim-racing (remember how Schumacher made F1 big in Germany)?

Look how often @TRL LIGHTNING is mentioned everywhere, because people want stars, so give these players a fair opportunity and not compromize the events with weird choices.

I always say and think that the Nations cup should only be about One-Make races as it is the most fairest way to solve those things out by seeing who adapts to the car they have been given very quickly and also that everyone has the same car, conditions etc. But unfortunatly we won't be having this on the regional finals probably

The impression I get is that they want to make the final standings mean something for the Regionals. It kinda makes sense and it would be less of a problem with better balancing and overall format. I will say it's going to hurt drivers that lost positions in the final race. I think a lot of us didn't take Le Mans that seriously since just entering the room meant we were in.

Yeah, maybe that's the reason. As for myself because of having the 6 week internship during the last FIA season i didn't want to play as much as i used to before on S2 for example. But unfortunatly i was having bad luck on all 3 superstars races but let's see if i even have the chance to get the result i want there :D

Sorry to be insisting, but don't you think it would be useful to have a place where we can check the global and regional ranking of you guys on the regionals and worldfinals?

I think it would be great!

where can I check that?
Do you know?

Perfect!

Do you mind if I asked where you got that from?

Thanks

@TRL LIGHTNING, your Japanese Nissan teammate is the Asia/Oceania Champion!

Yeah i know ^^
I am happy for him as well as the other guys on the podium who i met on the world tour event :D
Unfortunatly holl and nik makozi hadn't had the opportunity to fight for the win because of the car selection they have been given for but at least they are all on the world finals :D

But after seeing their event i am really looking forward to have my races ^^ even though i won't be having the chance to fight for the win rip

Congrats for Akagi, Saika, and Yamado  what a nice racing from that 3, nice defending from Yamado can make Saika down from 1 sec to 4 sec. Not sure what happen with Australian guy especially on race 2 look alike all kill each other

Sad no seeing any Group C on GR.1 race :indiff:

With the way they assign the cars based on Final Season standings, if that criteria carried over to the Nations World Final, then @Aderrrm will be the first one to pick a car, then Fuvaros, then Akagi, then followed by @Jomas, then it's @LLOYDZELITE69 turn to pick, etcetera, that is if those guys even advance to the actual World Final from their respective Block Races.

That can't be done for World Finals because you cannot compare points between one region and another.
