Why do you always feel the need to put as much personal information that you know about someone in these threads when talking about them? We can understand who you are talking about without you having to give us their username, first, middle, last name, and date of birth.

You are free to disregard me for obvious reasons but it seems like you don’t understand some people value their privacy.

If you are attending this, you kinda already forfeited your privacy though, not really a big deal

Wow that is an absolute joke. I will wait for our race details from Tom in the next week or two before saying anything, but this competition lost any sort of credibility right there and now. Will definitely need to rethink my choice and if I even want to attend regionals and world now....

In the first race in Group 3s the grid being set by final season rankings wasn't too big a deal because its actually possible to pass, but at Tsukuba... The only reason any passes happened in Repechage B was because the driver quality was much worse overall than Repechage A because PD is awful at seeding

EU Regionals will no doubt repeat this pattern so the championship is 'fair', but I'm very interested to see what they do with Manufacturers...

Well if it stays like this, me and lightning are starting from 5th place and picking our cars after other 4 guys, looking at the emea rankings....that is one hell of a handicap to start with! I dont mind the challenge, but I absolutely hate unfairness and when things aren't right as they should be, but they could be. We shall see what they will come up with soon....

They absolutely need to decide whether they want Nations to be a pure driver skill competition or not, because right now car selection is holding far too much impact, I thought we had a Manufacturer Series to fulfil PDs desire to have Manufacturer variety, but no apparently it also needs to infect nations... Which makes you wonder why the Manufacturer Series even exists. Let Nations be completely one make and put it entirely and unquestionably down to driver skill. Salzburgs X2014 Nations Final says hi

DS4 allowed now?

wat

Why didnt that Australian DS4 player from world tour use it as well?

Salzburg was entirely a team event, this was individual, since you can't plug a DS4 and Wheel in at the same time, I reckon they threw everyone on Wheel at Salzburg to standardise the input methods as everyone was constantly switching seats

I know. I'm talking about the player that was at World tour but also played in Tokyo today and is a DS4 player but used a wheel.

For what it is worth, i was watching the races, to begin with along with the F1 qualifying. I found the GTS races much more interesting and was watching them from start to finish (i actually put them on my 60 inch tv via ChromeCast). And i must admit i am looking forward to tomorrow's races and plan to watch them, simply because they are so entertaining. So to everyone that may be reading this, and is at the event, kudos, respect, high fives and lots of love for your effort. I was so happy to see HARD FAIR RACING and racing at a skill level that is on par with professionals. Again compared to real racing with millions involved, GTS E-Sport is proof that you can have exciting racing and respect among drivers.

Now about the fairness, most of the races had close racing from start to finish, tires and tire handling seemed very important. I really liked the forced 3 compounds and pitstops. Tsukuba would have benefited from forced pit stops. Qualifying should be a given at such events and i would have changed the format and asked the finalists to put in the Q laps before tomorrow's event.

The problem with the Audio was that the commentators have a microphone that picks up the PA or that the ambience mic is picking it up. I would mix the commentators louder along with the ingame sound and turn down the ambience. Should be possible if they have the proper setup.

Again, lots of respect to the fellow GTS players that were racing today, i have no idea who you are but you rule! And to those that is racing tomorrow, good luck and i hope you will continued delivering on the level we saw today..!

Does anyone know why L-Shooter_RB26 wasn't in the finals? If there's a driver from Asia I'd like to watch live is him.

Why? Thinking about it not sure I’ve tried it? Genuine question though does it really not work?
No because the steering is going through the wheel kicking the FFB all over the place, there's no way they could get this to work, it just disables the controller whilst driving and puts everything major through the wheel

He finished 91st overall and 55th in Japan for the final season of FIA. My guess is that he didn't want to participate seeing that he only attempted to do 4 races out of 5 that counted towards your final points total.

Thank you. :) I guess he didn't want to go then because judging by his stats (DIA included), he shouldn't have an issue qualifying.

Well, the others who got there are aliens too but L-Shpoter is an old school GT player and that's why I'd like to watch him live.

Forget it. You’ll never watch him.

Why? Is he a real racing driver who doesn't care or want to be at live events? I'm not a fan of his so I don't care. I just expected all the top drivers to be at live events and he's the only one missing (from those who still actively play the game ofc).

They should have told you that the final season 3 results will effect starting place of the first race in the regionals. But I guess they didn't knew it themselfes by that time :)

About the events, If I was you I would really be pissed off with the philosophy of effecting one race result to the starting position of next race. And if that would be not enough, the right to chose the car is also connected to the first race. If you would have known this, maybe you had prepared yourself otherwise during season 3, because some did already know before the last races that they were qualified.

This has nothing to do with the healthy dose of brutality of being in a competition. Instead it opens the way to be randomly who will be in the front at the end.

I really would like to partcipate in the decision- meetings of PD, what could the criterias be?

Why not a 10min qualifiying before a race? It would be in total 20 or 30 minutes! And if they want to chain the race results to each other, then it should be visa versa, like we do in our lobbys.

These are the basics over years to find out who is the best. Or do they try to spread artificially thrill to it on cost of being reasonable? Are they afraid that some few names would dominate then? Don't they know that a sport need stars to get more popular, and therefore that this would be actually good for sim-racing (remember how Schumacher made F1 big in Germany)?

Look how often @TRL LIGHTNING is mentioned everywhere, because people want stars, so give these players a fair opportunity and not compromize the events with weird choices.

You could be right. Adding more random elements makes for more unpredictable and possibly exciting races since sims have more uniformity than real life to begin with but decisions like car choice based on ranking magnify differences and break up the pack which works against close racing.

The best race was the Red Bull X2014 final where everyone had the same car, so I think they should only do one make races at major events because it is fair and great to watch. As for the rest, I think they are learning as they go and sometimes getting it spot on. The 3 tyres requirement for example is a great idea as it adds plenty of strategy.

I don't get the nontroversy about ranking being used for quali. It's a couple months long quali. If you didn't take it seriously and resorted to gaming the system by gatekeeping and not performing at the last race, I don't really feel bad for you.

Just finished watching it, I did enjoy it but not as much as the world tours, but maybe the audio had something to do with it, but I also think the racing did as well.

So in terms of the regional finals being based on seeding from the championship, I'm actually more for that because especially in the EU the top 24 at the end didn't mean anything apart from a ticket, and now we know it had some meaning. Personally I'd have done more than the 40 miles practice I did at La Sarthe and actually tried much harder. But in reality we should have realised this a little bit because A LOT of championships and competitions base seeds of prior results. PCars2 did this with their tournaments, real life championships also have this, rallying especially! So I'm all for it.

In terms of the racing, I just think it should be 1 make I really do, Manufacturers is fantastic for showing off all the brands (I actually think they should have invited all Manufacturers to the world finals and had a 25 car grid (You can fit 48 people in a LAN Lobby)). Nations is all about the individual representing the country, which I'm actually enjoying more now than when it was first announced because they are focusing on the countries more (Really good job PD!). Tsukuba wasn't the best choice although Adam did a fantastic job as did the Hong Kong player in the Subaru coming from the back each time, really well played to that racer as well! The Gr.3 races were interesting for sure and had some crazy battles, Gr.3 being the 2nd best class behind gr.2 but obviously not enough gr.2 cars so it was the best alternative choice for what they wanted. Different tyre choices is interesting to, but again it felt like there was really 1 way to go with it and if it is different to the current situation how can anyone really have an idea of best strategies?

O 1 huge positive is they've got rid of the random pit stop 2 seconds being added! That was definitely needed so great job PD with that to! Peugeot got nuked with that in Austria at Maggiore!

Presentation was on point again (If you ignore the audio), and I've started to really like the national anthem respect they do before the racing. Also the interviews definitely need to stay! Although I would say that they could do with doing 1 set of interviews with the English commentator Jimmy then he goes to the next person and then the Japanese guys do it to the audience to that first player. I skipped the huge interim part due to time (Gotta start my livestream at 9pm :P!). That may sound biased but it's the biggest audience (I think from views total) and at least then it would shorten that process they had between heats and the 2nd chance races.

Looking forward to watching the VoD tomorrow of tomorrows event (Sorry I'm lazy and I'm sleeping :P).

Because top24 system race was an absolute joke. I was kicked out from the first one because their system failed on matchmaking, was holding top3 spot at the moment and after that lost any chance to challenge that top spot in the remaining races pretty much.

Maybe we should have the next F1 grid race start at Suzuka based on results at Sochi?? Lol why are we even discussing this. ..

Wouldn't it be the first race in Australia based on last year's championship?

Man...i understand your points but i have to say,my favourite races in all these events have been the N-Class races, the interlagos race at the Nurburgring event and the Fuji race at the Red Bull event(that photo finish),i know the BOP for road cars is all over the place but it's very entertaining to watch,i also loved the X2014 race but making all races use the same car would be boring to watch.Of course that's only my opinion,i also don't like how randomness could hurt the broadcast.
