So how many dropped?

All but 6 of us so roughly 6 to 7 drivers, but luckly it happen after gippone crossed the finish line so this will be an easy red flag if we even issue 1. If you and Will would of showed up this would of been like the Mazda Rd but 15 drivers taking the green flag instead of 16 driver our current record!

Looks like I missed out on an eventful race. I would have been up in 3rd for qualifying in my estimation. I was turning 3:56s and 3:57s pretty regularly. Key to this track is knowing how late you can brake to make the chicanes the dunlop esses and entrance/exit of the porsche curves. I lost 1.5 seconds from tetre rogue to the first chicane. By the end of the straight to mulsanne corner I was down 2.4 seconds. Whats crazy is I was up .58 in the first sector but the Vette pulled 1.6 seconds in the first straight alone and by the exit of the first chicane I was down 1.09 seconds. Thats serious speed advantage there.

I had planned on it!!!!! But I passed out watching the V8SC races waiting for the race, I was easily doing 3.53s on RM tires and 3.51s on softs,

Anywho, That's my championship chances screwed,

Hey joe, did you get my other message in PSN??

Not yet I'll check now'

I made a 🤬 mistakes if you would of keep all your lap times below the 4 min mark I'm sure you could of got podium today. I tried to bump draft Gadget back to the pack but I keep making little mistakes which were highlighting the fact this was the 1st race that I hadn't practice for. I think these endurance races are great spaced out every 2 wks.

Maybe not you just need to wait for the top guys to run in to a DNS situation. I was actually just looking over the pts system and it dawned on me that I'm using my pts system from my 1st race which had 2 lobbies. I've been giving last place pts as often as I can because if a driver misses a race 64 pts is highly not likely that a driver can make it back up so I created a revised pts system which rewards top 10's top 5's, and each podium position with room for a DNS driver to make a come back. Over in Autobacs we are going to release this new pts system for the full season, but I wanted to bring it to Blancpain too. Realistically there are 11 rounds so there is a good chance we will all miss 1. Here's a sneak preview of the new pts system me and a little bit of Zach's editing came up with.

This is all less than 32 pts which it would have been if we clipped off just the 2 lobby points only'

1. 30 <--- gains 5 points over 2nd for winning race
2. 25 <--- gains 4 points over 3rd for coming in 2nd
3. 21 <--- gains 3 points over 4th for being on podium
4. 18 <--- here on down is the 2pt spread for being in top 10
5. 16
6. 14
7. 12
8. 10
9. 8
10. 7 <--- F1 style pts so guys have reason to reach top 10
11. 6
12. 5
13. 4
14. 3
15. 2
16. 1

Now if driver gets a DNS but comes back and gets a podium vs the other rival driver placing outside the Top 10 can eat back damn near in 1 race but most likely 2 races or so,...

Was really a challenging race. I have to say that LeMans is my favourite alongside Monza (with this I won 5 times in on-line races on each track). I was lucky to have the Vette but me too I started with times around 3:56 when I first tested the car here. I spent 3 hours in testing to reach 3:53 changing the downforce settings and the LSD for breaking.

Remember last time in LeMans with GT400 Joe? I made a silly mistake losing 15 secs and Calum won only by 4 secs. This time I said to myself not to make any kind of mistake... and that worked pretty good :)

I have to say that I have deep respect for Plux that made only one stop 👍
Great racing everyone, see you in the Indy oval (will be my first oval ever :nervous:)

Hope that tuesday maintenance will solve the DC problems :ouch:

Will that points system be in effect from the next round, or are you going to go through the replay's and implement it from the start?

You see the race wasn't much of a race for me... it was a lonely old drive through the night on old tyres and not much else to do.

Gip, you drove an excellent race and were the class of the field. However you did nullify the race the first time through Tetre Rouge by running so far outside of the boundaries. I'm guessing it was just a cold tyre thing but it took away my chances of closing with the draft...

But regardless, you would have had me by the end of the race... You out drove everyone here!

Yeah....took me a while to appreciate what you were doing. I'm used to running 'Full Damage' races where bump drafting would be highly ill advised and frowned upon, so the first few bumps I was thinking "What's he playing at? Use the draft and drive past?" But when the penny dropped I realised that it was an important part of race strategy I embraced it and when I was running with Motion Blur teamate 'i-was-ere' , we deployed this tactic for about 7 laps to turn in some good time....but ultimately the GTR is not at it's best on fast open circuits, and with only an hours practice to prepare for this my 4:01 was the slowest 'fastest lap' of the field. I think I did just manage to pip Jonny for 7th (just before he was d/c'd) due to him cruising the last few miles with a dry tank.

Thoroughly enjoyed the race so, and good to find another group of drivers who demonstrate skill and respect.

I'm away for Indy, but if there is a spot for the Spa race I'd like to make another appearance

Below is a screenshot of the latest results just prior to the DC's, and shows all cars still racing on the 22nd and final lap.

However, several cars did continue racing until the line, and the screenshot below, taken 15 seconds after the one above, shows me getting past Jonny for 7th due to his Zonda having ran out of fuel 1/3rd of a lap from the finish

Therefore I believe the corrected results should be:-

1. gprili
2. Pluxtheduck
3. memto89
4. richboy2mil
5. i-was-ere
6. chozza_32
7. Gadget334
8. jonnyb1990
9. JoeTruckV8

DNF - JoRDY105 (DC on Lap 17)
DNF - T-n-T2000 (parked in pits and retired Lap 12)
DNF - racefan8850 (drove into pits and retired lap 9)

I could of been up there with you nut I spent all week getting my karts in order for that huge race and I always get ready for races so it was an odd feeling for me to not know when to pit, or have a setup are any of the other unknowns that happen to me yesterday. I had bump draft Jordy all the way around the track to the point where we both should of qualified in the Top 5, but going into Indianapolis the last bump that i gave Jordy that solidified him in 6th position ultimately cost me a last place grid position when I wet the tires in the sand trap and spun harder then I ever had before. I ended up starting from the back and eventually stayed there after mistake after mistake. I spent the last couple of laps trying to make friends instead of rivals by bump drafting everyone I could find to catch some positions in the end but came up short. Anyways I'm glad you are in the Vette because I want the reg's setup where all chassis have the potential to win so thankyou for bring another chassis into 1st place with our current reg setup. Its looking like the Audi that Memto destroyed, and the GTR will be getting a 10hp boost to make up for their loss of trap speed. I was reluctant to add the hp because me and Tyson drove the Cusco's which had the lowest trap speeds and we won at tracks like Monza and did extremly well at Le Mans. Granted the GTR doesn't have a good trap speed but because of the awd functionality they can run even lower downforce then FR/MR chassis to make up the difference but at Indy we wont be stopping so that will have to go into consideration for this upcoming round.

I can run it by the Stewards, but by this directly effecting all drivers I will mass pm the whole field to see if they want to convert. I apologize to all drivers in this season 1 series to have to go thru all these changes on the fly but that is what season 1 is all about making the micro adjustments needed to produce a quality season 2 and so on. I would want to convert now and I could convert now because I have all the tapes and I believe this pts setup[ will keep everyone in the fight without the pressure of getting into trouble with the family accuse a DNS is so fatal. I know its mid season but I'm for making changes to produce the best racing possible for the remainder of this very long series still to come!

Zach's algorithm (If I spelled it right,) generated that we can have up to 22 to 24 sign ups to insure 16 drivers per every round, so right now I have you signed up with us in the GTR so you are good to go. I did check other series not all but a good amount and we have the most sign ups per every round then most series on the planet so the quality is there and worth making better. I'm consistent and stable so I wont abandon any series like you may have experienced in the past regardless of any crying or slamming that is thrown my way, and I don't change up so these 2 series of mine will run the way they are until all drivers ask for change. My motive over all is to keep The Band of Brothers as I call it all together regardless of what we drive. What we all have in common is that this is our time slot that works well with our irl schedules. And much gratitude to the 2 Aussie drivers whom wake up to drive with us every 2 wks!!! 👍

That algorithm is only correct for our super gt series though :P.

After this season I can Tailor it though for season 2.

That race yesterday round Le Mans was truly great lads, there I was saying before qualy I was 7.5secs of the pace per lap, then managed to put my BMW 3rd on the grid, after saying that I tweaked my setup a little more, it felt really good after that little change. I kindly got a very nice slipstream for a full lap behind gippone, thanks for that 👍 the race was very eventfull for me I had to rely on a lot of pushing to keep in the higher places, I also forgot the BMW is good on tyre wear and that really helped during the race i was able to push hard all the way through my stints. Thanks to all the guys who worked together with me on the straights, I would of never of made a 4th place finish without the slipstreaming. and I-was-ere that was some serious pressure you was putting on me at the end there man 👍 I thought I had 4th tied up going into the last 2 laps, but I was wrong luckily I just kept you out of my slipstream. all in all this was a fantastic round with very clean and fair driving from everybody I was racing with. Cheers lads, I look forward to indy hopefully be able to drop more DF maybe all of it.

cracking race, no issues from me, I nearly caught ya richy, if we hadnt dc'd then who knows, I was looking to stick that gtr down ya inside at the ford chicane and hope for the best, I didnt have the quickest car out there by a margine but it did create a massive amount of slipsteam for all to enyoy, I think there was about 4 guys that I didnt bump draft with as they had either gone or had left the race, thanks to the guys shoving my bus down the straights an look forward to getting dizzy at the next one lol

Haha, it is my pleasure to wake up early for the series, seeing as I'm enjoying it so much! Being my first series I want to get as much time in and get better, which I already feel I am! And it's just been a great experience and a good group of guys to race with!
Thanks to everyone for making such enjoyable racing and thanks joe for the great series! Look forward to the second half! (I think we're halfway now?)

For the 2nd season, joe, i think hold off for gt6 then we will have real gt3 cars. We have confirmation of 4 new GT3 cars. Premium Audi, Nissan GTR, Mercedes SLS and the BMW Z4. Theres rumors of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage as well. We shall see.

I was almost going to suggest that
See how long this series goes for, hopefully we don't have any more delays from disconnected races.
Maybe we could do a second shorter series if just some of the favorite tracks, and then in between times see what is announced for GT6 and start building a new series for when gt6 comes out.
We may all be too busy for the first few weeks anyway depending on what the game is like with a spec and seasonals and such seeing as will have to build up cars and credits again!

Ill be on the grind in gt6. Definitely will be working hard to get all the cars needed for the main series Ill be starting or partaking in. GT3/GT1, Super GT 500, 90s FIA GT and LMP1 being the main interests.

Yes GT6 is looking quite enticing with the new race cars,

@Joe, do a mock chart for peoples perusal prior to sending the PM's,

Tires/Tyres ~ Medium Compound for this Le Mans round and future Nurburgring rounds

Joe wrote this back before LeMans so we should use soft tyres again... but let's hear it from Joe 👍

Sorry guys we are back on the softs. Also I had a long work day yesterday so points will go up tonight. Sorry for the delay'

Btw GTR's can have 10 hp boost for this round only since there will be no stop and go for them to compensate with there Awd function. Thanks goes to Seth for bringing up the issue in the 1st place! And luckily I was in the back with them at Le Mans to experience reeling them in without a draft'

Gadget334
I think he's referring to the fact that the boring old ovals have no significant braking and acceleration zones that naturally plays to an AWD cars strengths.

That's what I meant excatly! 👍

I can see why you was catching me near the end of the Le mans race now, I-was-ere. my BMW was 23bhp down, just looked at it and its down to 450bhp, ive just clocked 1000miles in it, time for an engine rebuild for indy I think :sly: The GTauto mechanics better do a good job lol

I was down 20bhp by the end too... It felt so sluggish...

Indy is going to be very interesting... Softs are very temperamental and need a fine touch to make last... Any banker times around?
