I was down 20bhp by the end too... It felt so sluggish...

Indy is going to be very interesting... Softs are very temperamental and need a fine touch to make last... Any banker times around?

Me and TnT are doing some race simulations now. My question is what downforce #'s are drivers going to run. Also since this is Indy some downforce can grant a fastr lap time in clean air so a driver might chance running more to grab pole here at Indy'

Btw we are going to run cautions here for this Indy Rd. I need to speak with Seth & Polarbear about specfic's of the caution flag, but as of now if 2 or more drivers write caution then we will bunch the field under a yellow flag condition. This will hopefully insure no one gets left to race a boring race by them selfs. Our even if they get left like what happens in the irl Rolex Series they can race it out until another caution flag comes out to re bunch the pack' 👍

That sounds very exciting! 👍

what kind of things can we expect to warrant a caution from drivers, and would it be a good idea to add a couple of extra laps seeing as it could take a little while to catch up and form a line!

Caution Procedure

Just when two or people are involved in an incident and each/they call (type) caution, then everyone slows to pace lap speed. The cars involved go to the rear of the grid and pit then everyone else can pit or stay out. The cars involved stay at the back if they call for a caution, if they can get going again they should do so. So its a tradeoff.

Sorry, I was doing some spotting on iracing for a friend.

Yea, that's pretty well explained. It should be easier here since there is only one class.

Again, thanks for asking. Most people just steal my procedure. (Yes, I look at almost every series thread on here... I know who you guys are...)

Well this will be the every lap past lap 1,

I have some questions for you Joe 👍

1- At least 2 drivers must call for a caution is that right?
2- Then we must slow down like pace car in F1 without overtake keeping our positions? (but if you're lapped you can "unlap" yourself?)
3- In case I decide to pit during a caution I have to get to the rear of the grid during caution time? (not taking my position back?)
4- Pit exit road will be the one you can get out on the opposite straight right?
5- How we're are going to restart after a caution? Who will decide this?

:) thanks

Can we practice this before race night, cus im not liking this idea. I think were all gonna get lapped by the corvettes, so if we do get lapped and then a caution comes do we unlap ourselves?, this could take a long while and could be more hassle than its worth imo, but i'll be racing whatever.

I'm going to forward all these questions over to Polarbear and see if he is kind enough to answer them for us. I will add tho I did cautions with polarbear at his Rolex Series Indy round and it was great because the race was endurance race so we had 4 attempts at a group fight for 1st place honers. For a sprint race yea maybe no cautions, but for endurance races there awesome and I'll tell you why. At the Rolex Indy Rd we keep gaping drivers leaving big gaps in between all the drivers and when you are racing for 2 hrs it gets boring all by yourself. With the caution periods we kept re bunching up the field and a lot of you know already that actually during a race is where you find pace so after every caution period we would re bunch the field and it made it exiting for the whole 2 hrs because we all got a chance to re race each other 3 to 4 times after everyone definitely had learned the track. Sometimes a spin out will take you out of contention but the caution period makes you not rage quit and wait for another yellow flag to try to fight with the pack again. Granted whomever is leading will hate this the most but at the same time they will feel the presence of real race when the yellow comes out and if they keep holding off the surges (Nico Rosberg, Monaco) trust me the win will be that much more great in the end. It's common to naturally not wanting to do cautions but if you have never tried them before then I can almost guarantee that after this race caution flags will have a place in your heart. Especially for these endurance races. At Indy we will be doing 200mph + so If 2 drivers spin they will never catch back up and that will probably result in a rage quit which is what we are trying to prevent. Rage quits and/or a simply boring drive in a circle all by yourself will be way worst then if we don't do cautions here.

Ok yeah I see why you wanna use them here joe, soon as you lose the draft or have a spin it can be very boring on the ovals if your at the back. ive had that happen to me before, and its usually very boring from then on. so im game for the cautions, it will be a new experience for me :)

when we exit the pits where do we enter back onto the track, after the first turn or after the second turn on the back straight?

I say you run 1 full caution lap. The pits are open after you cross the line. So its lap 50 caution is called, you slow and form up like the pace lap. Those involved drive to the pits while the rest hold their place. before you finish lap 51, the leaders can pit if they desire. You should move to the position you receive after you pit, but still in front of those involved in the caution. If positions 4-10 all pit, the top 3 still hold their place, they continue on at pace speed, while the pitters circle the track to catch the top 3 or whoever behind them didn't pit.

I've suggest we go off of Seth's lead here fo the 1st time. I'm going to research Indy's pace lap speed at the moment plus some footage irl Indy & Nascar to see how they pit under caution here. Ill be online with some friends and we will try it out over then next 2 days. I also would like to schedule a practice run if we can find a date that works for a lot of drivers. If the practice race is going to be this weekend then I can do it very early pst, or very late pst. I have my daughter here for the weekend so my availbilty is very limited.

Somebody have good news about the room stability with new patch?

Good question I did 16 Lappers with TnT with no issues

I was having a few troubles still last night. Disconnected twice and couldn't join a couple if rooms which was annoying.

Slightly off topic, but I got kicked last night for accidentally hitting the host of the room, In a drift room.. What have people come to these days.. Glad you guys are so relaxed and we have fun!

Hahahahaha, I got kicked from a dirty nurb room for slamming the host in the last corner,
