OMG Dasilva will get 2 red card on this game and one penalty for Japan, at 78' and 88' (Two elbow and fist blow). Pfff damned referer.

It's a close match but Japan play better i think, but they feel more tired than Paraguay.

Let's go Japan !!!👍

Although Paraguay finally won the game and Japan was defeated, the Japanese players were doing as well as Paraguayan players did in the game to advance to the best 8. 👍

Yep, it was a close game and penalties are a cruel but fair way to decide a game. The Japanese team can leave with their heads held high on the back of another good showing at a world cup finals tournament. Honda proved to be the class act, just as Nakata did previously.

I think same (but referer had a house in paraguay....:))
Merci pour le jeu et le coeur les Japonais.

Estou decepcionado para o Português, ainda sem título ... And why Deco dont play for portugal Spain ?

Now 2 amazing matchs on paper.
Holland-Brazil 👍 i see Holland win
and
Argentina Germany 👍👍 i see Argentina

Spain will be easy vs (tired) Paraguay and we can have a
Argentina Spain...

Wow just disocvered this thread :D ,anyway Holland vs Brazil is probably the biggest game so far I would like Holland to win (being a gooner and I love RVP :sly:)but Brazil have impressed alot so far.I actually think Germany will beat Argentina.

Just 4 quick points:

1) Congratulations to Spain for a well deserved win.

2) Special mentions for the best men on the pitch - Villa and Eduardo.

3) Ricardo Costa is a moron. Nicely sent off.

4) Ronaldo explained why he doesn't play well in the national team. It's a matter of his handicap in personality being even bigger than his huge talent to play football. If I live in a civilised nation he won't play again ever for the national team unless he apologise publicly to the coach, teammates and supporters for his declaration after the game.

PS; Villa's goal is offside. Until when Mr. Blatter?

Ronaldo IS a moron. he's more interesting by the large stadium screen for see himself than Portugal teamplay.

A question for Portugues here.
WHY Deco dont play 2 last match. It's pure mess 👎👎👎

That was so awful. I hope Komano doesn't wander into Aokigahara when he gets home.

And the sad thing was he had that one in (if it did go in, could of been more interesting)... It was very, very close. Congrats to Paraguay (Latin America is rocking and rolling 4 years early though), but bigger congrats to the Samurai Blues for holding them to no goals during the whole 120 minutes and showing that the J-League isn't no joke anymore. :sly: Mark my words, 2014 in Brazil, if this team is still together with everyone healthy and in tact (including the coach), they could do this again... and then some. :sly: :D Randy

Yeah Spain played well and they actually have a great team... but we didnt even show half what we are capable of doing.

First of all we ARE NOT A DEFENSIVE TEAM!! We are a born offencive team, so we dont even know how to play in some other tactic diferent from that. Queiroz is a retard. Why in the hell did he replaced Hugo Almeida, when he was doing a good game and felling great... After the game i heard in the radio (on the way to the restaurant) Queiroz saying that he was tired... That was a lie. Almeida said he was FINE and didnt understand the coach decision. Queiroz tactic in my point of view wasnt bad IN the 1s half, he was trying to make the same type of game we did against Brazil. To tire up spanish players in the 1st half and attack in the 2nd half... but a stupid man that he is, he didnt do a damn thing. He only changed the tactic on 75 or 80 minutes to 4-4-2... when it should have been 4-3-3 from the beginning of the 2nd half!! And, why not replace Ronaldo with Deco? Because the coach was mad at Deco?! How stupid is that?! Shouldnt he, swallow his pride in the Countrys name?! Even knowing that Ronaldo practically didnt do a damn thing in this WC. The Refs were retards. Several faults were made against Ronaldo and he didnt call it. In some of those ocassions Portugal game could have changed to attack mode. An offside goal?! What a laugh!

Well thats about it... i had to take this off my chest:grumpy:! (by the 15th time this evening)

The Retards in the game:tdown: that should never been in Portugal National Team:

1st: Carlos queiroz (in number 1 for the mentioned reasons above )

2nd: Dany didnt play a damn thing

3rd:. Ricardo costa for his stupid atittude

4th: All the 4 refs for the lowsy calls

5th and last one: FIFA for not using all the technology we have in the year 2010 in favor of the sport it self, so these scandalous errors dont happen again. England vs Germany was another good example.

The most frustrating thing is to get beaten by our own coach:dunce:, knowing we have great players and most of them in good shape.

EDIT: I  to our man Eduardo! By far, the best goalkeeper in the WC:tup:! Thanks Eduardo:tup:!

Half true... Although or a fact some faults are real and the referees, more oftenly, tend to not mark them due to his (half deserved) diving abilities. What he must realize is that when the referee doesn't blow the whistle, instead of staying laying in the ground, laughing and pulling his socks up, he should get his multi-million dollar arse up and run.

An offside goal?! What a laugh!

I'm confused. The first part seems to demonstrate your disagreement about Villa's being offside. This last part seems otherwise.

Let me say this clearly: what I said yesterday regarding Ronaldo as a player I mantain. He is one of the top 3 players in the world at the moment and, globally in my opinion he is the most highly balanced player ever. He lacks however in the same porportion humillity and character.

Portugal has been doing a number of mistakes for the past 2 years, one of them being giving him captain status. This is unheard on the history of the portuguese national squad where allways where the 3 players with most caps to wear that arm band. To be a captain you must gather a number of characteristics in order to become the natural leader amongst the players and, usually, being the company's top star isn't one of them.

Deco doesn't play due to disciplinary reasons. He criticized publicly the coach after the match against Côte d'Ivoire.

Now we've got a break in play before the final 8 matches, it's time for a stats-bomb!

In terms of averages, WC2010 - the 19th Finals - is the sixth-best attended World Cup in history on 48,065 per game, only slight behind Italia '90 at 48,391. With the eight biggest matches besides the opening game to come, two in the 85,000-seat Soccer City and two in the 64,000-seat Cape Town stadium, it will probably beat that and come close to Mexico '70s average.

Highest Average Attendances
USA 94 - 68,991
Germany 06 - 52,491
England 66 - 51,094
Mexico 70 - 50,124
Italia 90 - 48,391
RSA 10 - 48,065

In terms of total attendances, this tournament is currently fifth and cannot beat either of the top two tournaments (USA 94, Germany 06) because it requires an average attendance in excess of the total ground capacity remaining - 111,987 to beat USA 94, 83,475 to beat Germany 06). However, the current average attendance is sufficient to be only the third tournament to exceed 3,000,000.

Though the lowest attendance - 23,871 for New Zealand vs. Slovakia - is pretty poor, it's some way from the lowest ever attendance in a World Cup Finals match of 300 at Peru vs. Romania in 1930. In fact it eclipses the average for the 1934 tournament (21,059).

In terms of goals, RSA 10 is... the worst World Cup Finals ever played. Although the total isn't terrible - 123 so far puts the tournament ninth from 19 with 8 games left - the average is the worst and to avoid this fate the remaining 8 games need to produce 19 goals or more. Luckily they need only five goals to avoid being the only World Cup Finals not to produce more than 2 goals per game...

Lowest Average Scoring
RSA 10 - 2.196 (123 goals, 56 games so far)
Italia 90 - 2.212 (115/52)
Germany 06 - 2.297 (147/64)
Japan/Korea 02 - 2.516 (161/64)
Mexico 86 - 2.538 (132/52)
W. Germany 74 - 2.553 (97/38)

There have been 14 sendings-off so far, seven straight reds, seven second yellows. Germany 06 makes this look like an U11 five-a-side game, with 28 sendings-off (including four in one match - Portugal vs. Netherlands).

Of corse he was offside. Maybe a bad choise of words from my part!

Portugal would be in a much better position if Ronaldo put half as much effort into playing the ball as he did falling down.

One team its not about one man. And he IS pushed most of those times.

EDIT: But what really pisses me off is that, I KNOW, and most you know that the refs see those things, but dont do a damn thing. Especially when they are 3 or 4 meters away. Now, thats something to think about...

Yes it's true but that's nothing new for the portuguese footballer. In fact it is quite like what happened back in the 80's/90's with another famous portuguese player that every ten times he felts on the penalty box, only one was sanctioned by the refs. And of those 10, half were actually penaltys. The problem is the other half that weren't and makes them, Ronaldo and that other player - Futre, rather know for being divers.

Yummy!

Bullie, I'm well aware of C. Ronaldo capabilities and skills. His speed with his skills are a great combination in him, and I agree with you that he is one of the best in his kind (wing/striker). I don't think he his (in overall) the best player ever or the best of the best, today.

And I agree with you, his lack of humility is what it spoils him, specially in the National Team. The media also helps to it, in example, the newspapers often called the National Team has C. Ronaldo and cia.
That's why I said, I prefer Nani to him, it doesn't unbalances the team so much towards him and in the end, it yields more than C. Ronaldo.

Has for Hugo Almeida and Liedson, don't get me wrong, I like both and both have two distinctive types of play. But Hugo Almeida seemed more into shape and Liedson a bit black outed in the past games.

Yesterday when I had lunch with a colleague I said that I really dislike the Portuguese national team. The reason for that is that they dive too much and that every time they are on their way out of a tournament they stoop to ugly tackles or elbows and someone in the team will make a disgrace of himself by spitting on an opponent.

Turns out I was completely wrong. It was the cameraman who got spit at.

ps. I really dislike Sergio Busquets as well for his diving.

C. Ronaldo, the most worst mentaly players of the world after Materrazi "the butcher".

Very, very ugly he shames us all:nervous:

But I guess he is just following other previous Best Football Player in the World "good" example-the only bad I see from Materrazi is being too tall:sly:

That's so gross. What an idiot. Like I said with the French, if they don't want to be there or have that kind of mentality, I don't know why the manager bothers to make them part of the squad.

Yep, exactly the same with the England squad. I hope they take Nigeria as an example and ban their WC players for two years. For some reason, and I'd genuinely like to know what it is, these players just don't seem to give a flying.....

My opinion is that people in general over react giving Ronaldo those tags! How about Queiroz beeing the one to blame for weak WC! Remember what he said after the game: "What happened Cristiano? " CR7: "Ask Queiroz!" He shouldnt said that, thats not in question, but what if he is right in some way that he couldnt/shouldnt talk about it! He said that when he was pissed, but... just think what im thinking! Queiroz issued he did/didnt mention + he beeing one of the most loved players in Spain, and not at all here in Portugal, where he should naturally be:idea:! That means alot! Just saying... He scores more than 30 goals (35 i think) and in the national team... well...

What would any of us do, knowing your own country doesnt suporte you + giving you all the presure with the expectation that you will carry the team to victory?! Thats tremendous! Would i play well?! Probably not. Would i want to play well?! Dont think so...

Remember what he did in M. United and remember what he just did this season in R. Madrid! That cant be only the player problem... The country team + the Portuguese people have there own to blame too:guilty:!

Spiting at the camera?! PISSED as HELL?! Going home loosing the WC?! I probably would why not?! If i had his moral and felt like it at the time... at that time i wouldnt give a 🤬! Heinze did far worse than that ! Gross is earting your own bug !

About players throwing them selfs to the grass! All teams of Football have some players that do that, and i dont see anyone talking about other players. About that issue, im sorry but thats A BIG LOAD OF CRAP, and a full stop to that.

The man is top 3 in the world for some reason.

Why not bash Queiroz? That IS the one to blame for Portugal failure.

EDIT: About Materazzi VS Zidane! Zidane was doing the last game of his carrer, so if he wanted to hit the worst retard of the Football world why not hit him in a way he would never forget? Thats what i would do if that was the case:sly:;)

I thing like that? He would never ever forget my face:lol:! What goes around comes around:mischievous:!

MOuaaahaha. i m waiting this one. And you fall inside, Arvore.:)

THANK YOU ZIZOU !!! 👍 During this Final 2006 we lose at penalty but we dont lose honors.
Zidane do than others 50 players dont do it during all Materazzi carrer, and he do it during the best football even for show to the world the Nazi Materazzi.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj-usfex6Zg

Of course it's a bad example for the football world as it is a head shot, but a sudden impulse to mark minds is better than 70 tackles in part could break the careers of many players who receives them.
Lots of specialists of football said that the team had prepared the blow Italy to expel Zidane this final if France dominated the game.
It reminds me a certain level anti Blanco in Rugby during 80' 90' from the English.

Merci Zizou pour avoir eu le courage de faire taire cette saloperie de materazzi. :)

Thank you horde_r35 for your feeling.

I don't think he his (in overall) the best player ever or the best of the best, today.

For the record let me just make perfectly clear that when I say overall I mean as that to me he is up to today the player who had managed to gather in himself the highest levels of all different attributes you would find, unlevelled, in a football player.

Ronaldo is very very close to the top in skill, speed, shooting power & accuracy, stamina, heading ability, passing, dribling, finishing, etc. To me, no other player had yet reached in all those atttibutes such equally high values.

Roberto Carlos, Koeman, Branco, etc... all of them were by far better freekick takers and had a superior shooting power by far than he does. But were quite inferior to him in other aspects. Maradona, Messi, Cruyff, Garrincha etc. were/are more skilled in dribbling than he is, but lack on the physical side of heat, heading, etc. See what I mean?
