FINAL GT6 2016 STORAGETRUNKS GT500 BASE SERIES-Monday Nights 18:30UKFinished

Loool okay will leave it then.... I did just say tho it was a question haha ;)... If u look at those pics look how bunched up most of u are to the guy in front this is what I mean by people having to play catch up before they even get over the line...

So i think by abandoning the car length rule and increasing the limit to 85mph/90mph then we will get around the pace lap quicker as well as being able to stay right behind the guy in front as so if they get caught sleeping then that would be there own fault but as it stands now we are limited to 75mph but I have had to go up to 90mph or more sometimes as I was sticking to the limit & the pack was some how managing to still pull away on the pace lap  I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation??

It was a good idea:tup:

I kept the pacelap at around 120kmh (75mph), but slowed down in the corners, and also slowed down to exactley 100kmh (62mph) the entire start/finnish straight. So it should'nt be an issue with cars falling back and the grid stretching out... make sure you are a car lenght behind the driver in front of you, stick to 62mph untill you cross the start/finnish-line, and then floor it. Really shoiuld'nt be an issue.

Or we change to the WRS rules, where you accelerate once the car in front of you accelereates.

Finally, on another note, is that your kid in your picture @Daniel199025 ? He's so cute! :)

Must try harder and remember to avoid restoring body rigidity just before racing.

Why is that mate? I usualy restore car on race day never had issues.

Not sure, it seemed to affect the turn in. I had the car setup what felt like perfectly and I was able to really throw it around and really push in practice races and get in the 17s. But then I did the rigidity and it didn't feel quite the same. I lost confidence and commitment and then focus, and was already tired from cycling to work, far from my best race !

Ooo, an extra 10bhp :)

Hopefully I can do well enough at Grand Valley to go back down to 540 though (mind I'm not here for Monaco @Stephen Vann)

Yes whenever i restore chassis i notice a huge difference.
As i do lots and lots of prcactice laps you get used to the feel, then bang stiff chassis again throws it all out.

@Stephen Vann, @DeltaJuliet I hope you guys are imagining things lol, I've been restoring on race day for several season and I usualy was happy with my times are how car handled prior to race.

Logic, I'll need a steward around 18:30 uk, going on the coast for the weekend so I need to Q today.

Thats fine Niss.

Re Chassis upgrade - i most certainly do notice the car handling is different after restoring it.
I have done this on many occasions just before a race when i have been to change oil and
in the service area it says
" sell your house and all you possessions, as you need a chassis restore, and it is so expensive you will be very poor afterwards "
Then after it is done it feels very different from the chassis i was used to that was probably very bendy.

I now have 5 HSVs that i use
it saves me keep leaving the lobby to change oil and also i can use one that does not need a new chassis
just before the race.

I'm switching from day to night shift, so will be on late if anyone's up for some practice. If there isn't a room open I'll open one around 1900 uk until I can't drive anymore. :)

Sorry it's a bit late, but I thought I'd just give a quick race report for Laguna Seca.

After a good practice and qualifying, the race got off well with Erazer making a mistake on the second lap at turn five, so I was able to hold on to second for the majority of the first stint whilst Aug stretched his lead a little bit every lap to several seconds. I then lost some rhythm which was enough for Erazer to close and get past when I made a small error at the last corner with Nissman starting to gather momentum too.

I toyed with the idea of pitting once as tyre wear was good, but thought I'd rather stick to what the majority of the leaders were doing in the interests of trying to keep it close! The second stint was much the same as the first with only a handful of tiny mistakes, but I was mindful of Nissman with a huge lead now, so was trying to figure how things might be at the end of the race. as I pitted, I ran into Aug who possibly overshot the pit entry which wasn't a problem, but I accidently hit the throttle just as the tyre/fuel menu appeared and the damn thing defaulted to 60 litres instead of 30 as per the first stop. The longer stop combined with the extra weight of the fuel pretty much made a good result much harder, which combined with brain fade in the closing stages and offs at turn five knocked it on the nut.

Great result for Niss, and for Aug and Erazer for the late charges they put on after some offs at that turn five.

I'm busy this weekend, plus I badly need to overhaul the wheel and pedals so I'll skip Monaco, but I'll probably call in on Sunday afternoon.
