FINAL GT6 2016 STORAGETRUNKS GT500 BASE SERIES-Monday Nights 18:30UKFinished

Niss, I support you having fun as it is, and I do not wont to spoil that for you. Or for majority of people here participating.

But claimin there are no "tuning aliens", really? C'mon, only half of currently exiting tuning options would be enough for that differenciation. And with 100% of current GT options it is reality. Really, if you are one of those :D tuning aliens, it is natural that you don't even realize the extent of how lost in these option someone else might get.

We had two specific tracks now (monaco, laguna) in which the aliens are just too strong. I also lost some time to them but I think it's just a tracks, in GVS I'm sure things will be much closer.

So try not to make conclusions on after a couple of bad races, more open known tracks are coming and let's firtsly see how things turn out there.

Phaedrus mate, if you think we have a tunning alien here in this series, firsty who is it? (i know i'm not)

Secondly, I think this ''tunning alien'' will give you his tune with no issue so you will habve yourself and alien tune and therefor you won't be losing time anymore.

Also I can give you my Laguna ''winning tune'', but don't get your hopes up, I basicly made a compromise from tunes I found in this thread page 1.

I've been in tons of championships with and without tuning - and majority of those with you (starting with Pure), Tony and so... On ALL tracks.

I know I'm losing 1-2sec. in tuning championship compared to tuning prohibited.

But as i've said, it's majority that has the right to chose.

I know I'm losing 1-2sec. in tuning championship compared to tuning prohibited.

Mate you got pole in Tokyo in a tuning series... I'll cut my balls off if you lose 2 sec per lap coz of tune.

And if you are why don't you ask one of the aliens for the tune?

I didn't want to go here, but most of us must face the fact that we are losing lap pace againts Eraz and Aug purely because of skill. I know this as I watched them drive in replays every race and I see the diffrence in lines, smothness, agression, etc..

Yes a good tune helps but it certanly doesn't help you for 2 sec, not in this game.

To confirm this, go watch non tunes time trials and the diffrence is same between aliens and earthlings. Big.

@DannyB013 sorry if I had pushed u into a spin at the chicane I did try to break but was so focused on the 3way battle with yourself and @nissman that I just couldn't react in time that and I had no where to really go unless I took a dive lol... Wasn't sure if I should have gave the place back or not and didn't want to if I didn't have too lol I need all the good finishes I can get especially with u aliens up front lol

I can't really remember what happened at the chicane, whether I made the error or I was pushed. I didn't think I was hit at the time, I was struggling hugely all day through there because I had no throttle or braking control and feel all race and through there it's crucial. I'll have a look at the replay later but even if you tapped me from behind but it's probably best to put it as racing incident, I'm not too bothered 👍

Also, I can give anyone my tunes from any race (as I write them all down lol), but as niss said, don't expect much improvement, I only find a tune is worth 2 or 3 tenths as a maximum and they can normally be quite driver specific anyway. From Tokyo, my setup hasn't changed much at all. Sadly for me when I try aug's tunes on page 1, I suddenly don't become as quick as him and it's simply because I'm slower than him. I personally like tuning; we can get the cars to suit the way we drive and the track more. The quickest guys are also the best at adapting so as niss also said, it may spread things out even more! :)

And finally, the reason I write setups down sometimes, is because when I change something and make the car slower, I can always revert back!

I said 1-2 sec., and I didn't say, nor think that I'm faster then lots of you guys. The fact that i got pole in Tokyo with strangers tune just proves the point that I have no idea what tune is and how to make it. When it works I have no idea how and why, and I get a pole. When it doesn't work I get 3sec. behind and I have no idea why. Well, part is my driving, but PART is in the tune.

I do not mean to belittle anyone. I respect aliens, and double aliens I respect three times as much

But I'm allowed my flawed opinion, as anyone :)

@PhaedrusSocrate ,
I created my setup for Brands hatch, the when we get to other tracks I just correct minor things. the increased speed lately is not because we have found some magic setup. I still use the base I created at brands hatch.

Once you have the base setup sorted out, there are very few parameters to adjust to adapt the car to another track.
Here is what I change for every event:
-Rear brake balance
-front and rear toe
-final gear
-LSD
-rear downforce

Thats it. That is all you need to adjust. (for most tracks anyway. daytona, monza, monaco etc. need a bit more attention.)

And as Niss said, on page one you can find Aughablo's base setup for all three cars, and then you have my tuning guide to help you make the right corrections.

Yes, to be honest, my view, we must have the nicest aliens there are in the galaxy in our series.

They are so fair and genuine, last week for instance at Monaco, several guys were getting a huge amount of help
from them.
EVen Erazser was taking the time to set his car up with Dan1990s tune to see how it could be improved.
Aug and Erazer are very kind in this area, and i know they are themselves having to push to the max to get the results they are getting.
I know Aug is struggling more than Erazer at the moment, but i know Erazer must have done a minimum of 200 laps last week in practice to find .5 that eventually got him pole and such super lap times.

Also to point out that they are running at their max, re weight and bhp, as i have never seen them both be forced to push so hard as to make errors as they are with the handicaps as they are now.

Also, i have to say, that we are all now are given quite a help with the handicaps.
It is impossible to balance cars perfectly for each track, but in the end the top guys really
are where they deserve to be, at the top.

We will continue to adjust handicaps as we go along, but we must not make it so the best guys cannot win,
as that would be so very unfair.
As it is we are now at longer tracks, and i feel sure they wiull really struggle to win much more at these tracks.
Also, yes they may have awsome 1 lap pace, but there extra car weight does have a much bigger effect on tyre wear in a 90 min race.

I do think that the amount of time they spend in practice is commendable, as all our series drivers put a lot into each weeks race practice.

Was having a quick read over things before heading to bed and spotted the posts for about tuning etc. Guys I've only been a member of GTP for a year and a half, only taking part in the WRS. When it comes to tuning I'm useless and sometime's I've found a nice tune other time's I haven't. What I've found out is to read up on how other's have tuned their cars I use Pasm's of the tuning Data base with tweeks to suit 'me' and the track. Read the advice there is on tuning on this thread and others. And spend as much time as possible fine tuning everything. The more time you spend at it the more you'll find the speed. So don't worry if your slow I'd guess some of the guys here are on everyday. This is my first Championship but I think the way you can tune, have different groups and sometimes individual spec/reg changes seem's to work.

Hope this help's and makes sense guys been up since 12 noon yesterday, just finishing a 12hrs shift. I'm going to do a practice around 2pm uk today after I get up before heading to do it all over again.

@RodeRuner1967 1:43.26x is my fastest so far hitting 270 kph top speed. Although other's may be different

Again, i urge everyone, our Aliens may be very fast, but here at GV a the driver input is much less than the last 2 tracks, that were tight and required absolute perfect lines, which they seem to be capable of lap after lap.

Also remember that they will be slower quite a bit slower on the straights here and will have to push through the corners
to make up their laptimes, and with their ballast this will almost be certain they will need an additional stop for tyres than most of us.

I don't know how I did this time. I was doing low 1:45's to mid 1:44's up to lap 14. I went in and made a little aero adjustment and a 1:43.6 on lap 3 :D

I can well understand if some are frustrated, sometimes I am too:ouch:
And why not, I`m at the end of the field for now. :)
So I want to see the situation as a challenge and a possibillity, to learn with the "fastest guys in the world".
Perhaps it is easier to learn, if we accept that there are talented people ???

Some are fast, some are very fast regardless we just gotta make the best out of each track we attend and to get the best out our cars we need to put in 100% focus onto how the car itself works so that you then know how and what to adjust...
I myself have not had the best start to the series but I can see my self gradually climbing my way back up the ranks although having said the his I'm sure I will not be getting all the way up there lol!!

The reason why i struggle is the lack of practice every week (only have time during week-ends). ..
At laguna i was strong but after waking up at 5am to go work (hard) i lost focus once then i was done, trying to push to hard to recover the lost time ...

As erazer mentioned monaco is special , i knew i would be struggling , as i saw he posted his Q time on friday , at that particular moment i had no clue what my pace was, the only thing i was able to notice was that erazer was more then 1 second in front ...i gave my best but that's a track where i needed more practice than usual...

But to be honest i mmore motivated than ever when i see erazer taking away many points !

Again impressive pace on monday @TRL_Andromeda , i would have need at least two more practice hours to maybe match it .

i hope i'll be competitive again on monday ;)
