Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Had a unique experience at Trial Mountain tonight - full room, and every car was different (just the one GSX!).

Don't think I've ever seen that in a QM before, but it shows the breadth of cars that can be used here.

I reckon I was nearly there with you. I'd been in a fairly dull room with lots of gixxers and got the "time till next race 3.. 2..1.. 392s", so quit and came back into what looked like a fantastic room. You were there in a Nardo. Disconnected before the first race. :banghead:

I've officially found my car's maximum weight limit after trying the tank car. 3499kg's is my absolute max. Sadly, that excludes the tank car at 3500kg's.

(I gave it a try and hated every second of it. Cool horn though.:D)

I saw your name briefly, and then you were gone!

The room was good until it stopped letting new entrants in, eventually dwindling to only 3 of us.

Next room I had to suffer the well known Canadian troublemaker......

Being heavily influenced by some of you guys and from pure boredom I also started a special TM-challenge yesterday.
I decided to go the opposite way and use this car:

Fiat 500 F '68.jpg

Gonna paint it black though for an ultimate badass look  !

The Fiat 500 F '68 is way faster than the tank, so the challenge will be

- To beat two other cars ( excluding grid parkers etc. )
- To finish before the time-out
- To run sub 5.20

Beside that I'm looking forward to meet you @MOPARbarrett5 on track and maybe do some 'Laurel and Hardy' cruise laps with you :dopey:.

Had some interesting races tonight, after deciding that the Midget wasn't going to cut it and going back to the GT40. Met up with @coryclifford in what would have been a nice room if it wasn't for NotMoparBarret behaving like a 🤬. I had to leave to cook dinner so, after he'd hit me a couple times in my last race, I decided to devote the remainder of the race to making sure he came last. I know I shouldn't stoop to his level but...
After dinner I found some good rooms, not too many gixxers - Oh and I had a gixxer driver who I didn't know wait after giving me a penalty. When he caught me later I gave him room and he passed without hitting me. What's the world coming to? Raced with hsh_ who seems to have been working on the Camaro - 4:41 race time . And our friend of the burning tires who I now suspect is more than one person. Or someone with a very weird personality. In the RGT this time. I'd had good battle in one race, following for a long time trying to get past - there was no shenanigans, no corner-cutting, just good smooth lines giving me no opportunity to pass. Later in a different room it was a different story - all over the shop and came last in two races in a row. I always assumed that every name was a single racer but it could be a few friends or siblings swapping over, or a parent and child. I'm imagining burning tires senior cringing at the efforts of burning tires junior. Or maybe the other way round.

Do you remember the laptime of your first lap ?

A gt40 was behind me at the starting line, he did hit me at the first chicane and I got a three seconds penalty, go figure!!

I don't remember my first lap time but my best was low 1:42.

This car at 500pp is undrivable, must be for drunk drivers only. I won't drive it again!

The NSX Type-R '02 is pretty fast on that track - best 1:31.2xx
Another one is the RX-7 Spirit R Type A '02 - best 1:31.5xx

After this first couple of attempts I could manage a 5.19 from P1.
I can not imagine to go much faster, at least with my setup ( and I think I don't have a bad one ).
Your 5.15 appears to be straight alien-like, so from now on I will call you TRL_MARYANN .

Thanks for the compliment but the TRL gang is way too fast for me!!

When I'm driving a car for too long, I'm slower. Most of the time, my first lap is pure magic. Lost of concentration, too boring, don't know!!!

I honestly think that you are very talented :). You may work on things that aren't top yet like 'concentration' etc. and then ... uh uh 👍 !

Had a few more attempts on my Trial Mountain Fiat 500 challenge, however, without big success.
Got a crowded room with some fast drivers like @kilesa4568 on one hand, and some guys acting like I hadn't been there at all on the
other, so no ... in 5 out of 6 races the countdown was faster than me .
With a little hope left and having found a couple of tenths in the meantime, I'll give it one more chance ( though I have to admit it gets
boring ).
So ...

if you see this car on track: It's me. Please take care - be generous - take the outside :D. Thank you, guys !

I changed to the Nardo later and found the same room again which - what can I say - felt a bit different then.
The widely spread range of cars delivered racing as it should be, with ups and downs, wins and defeats, and very enjoyable imo.
With digtater leaving and one of my nightmares showing up ( the French who emigrated from Portugal at the age of 4 ) I called it a day.
CU all .

Well done for your persistence RJ!

I had some good races over the weekend with the Garaiya, not as fast as some cars but it surprised a few people and got me some wins. It's funny how the faster guys start making mistakes when you run close to them in a car they perceive to be inferior!

Other than the over zealous defending some people were using, it kept me entertained for a good couple of hours and I was gutted I had to leave.

When you came back in the Nardo, it was weird how we hardly got to race each other with the traffic splitting into groups all the time but it made for some good intense racing.👍

Haven't done any QM's for a while due to an erratic controller (dillema, buy 'another' controller or explain to Mrs B why buying a PS4 is vital for the families future), I did however receive a message from TurboTina telling me to stop driving like an idiot, told him/her that I was watching YouTube for the final response from him/her 'lucky you're not on track with me'
