Got the DLC. The M3 feels faster than it is, and the S4 dominates the other Group B cars in head 2 head.

Mud And Guts Car Pack:

Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 (Group B)
Citroen C4 RallyCross (Rallycross)
Ford Mustang GT (Modern Trailblazer)
Saturn Sky (Gymkhana)
Lancia Stratos (70's)
There, I fixed it up to be a little more accurate. Each car also comes with five liveries. Hopefully they'll include some good ones this time; I was really hoping the Delta S4 would have liveries for my two favourite teams, reddmango and Dalikfodda.

Of course, Mud & Guts hasn't actually been confirmed as next week's DLC. We know Monte Carlo is coming out on the 28th, but next week could be the DLC that gives us the Variety Teams pack, which I believe will include all of the liveries (Brembo, Yokahama, Texaco, Mobil 1) that were pre-order bonuses, or even the Shibuya rallycross and (possibly) events. But I think Codemasters will save that one until last.

I'll probably grab the bundle, but I just want the Stratos. I highly doubt that is next week though, I'm sure they want to spread out the bigger DLC packs. That would be 3 weeks in a row of $6+ content. Next week will probably be that gymkhana mini or the pre-order liveries.

Yeah, I'm in it for the 205 and Stratos for sure.

No DLC next week.

Just popping in quickly to confirm that we'll be having a gap week for DLC next week.

The week after that though it's Monte Carlo time.

Eh, I figured they'd at least put something small out, like the pre-order liveries. Oh well. I can't get excited for Monte Carlo since I'll be out of town when it's out and two weeks after. But I know when I get home it will be the first thing I do.

Regarding that car unlock pack, does that mean you can use the gymkhana cars on rally or no?
No. The Car Unlock Pack just makes all of the cars and teams in the release build of the game - that means no DLC - available to you. There is nothing in the Car Unlock Pack that cannot be obtained by progressing through the game normally.

Is it sad that I actually really like the Scion for Gymkhana? I tend to drive a very loose setup and the RWD balance of the Scion caters to that nicely. Not enough time at the wheel for some real nice times, but I think I'll do better with it than the Fiesta.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I'll break the news, it's not RWD at all. How do I know? Well physics wise it's obvious by how it behaves but if you want a more visual answer then push the car on a wall and jam the throttle and watch all 4 wheels spin.

That's kind of why I said "RWD bias" and not just RWD. It doesn't handle like RWD but more like an AWD with a 25/75 bias or similar. Still, much more oversteer than the other cars, which I like. Also the gearing is a bit shorter.

I thought Scions where FWD cars...

It's based on Tanner Foust's drift car which was converted to RWD.

You said balance to be fair, and I thought you were referring to the handling balance based on it's RWD 'capability'. I always adjust the dif to get the other cars loose, and shorten the gears as well, lowering the down force to if necessary and you can get all the cars to behave much more lively in gymkhana.

Yeah, I've got a drastic setup for Gymkhana in the AWD cars. But you drive AWD much different. For instance, when doing a donut or tight drift you use very little countersteer in many cases. With RWD, you'd be at opposite lock most of the time. The Scion leans more in that direction.

My setup in the Scion isn't as drastic as the Fiesta (one click back from full "Strong" on the diff) and is still much looser. The rear does like to float at speed if you bump down the DF though.

Speaking of DF, I usually leave mine alone for gymkhana unless it's a really fast course. I haven't tested it, but in theory the DF would make little difference at standard Gymkhana speeds. I have played with it for specific stunts that I needed to pull off though ... specifically long jumps.

Generally speaking I only gymkhana free roam for videos and my own entertainment though, so lower downforce means more sliding at high speed which is always good. For the challenges however where time is of the essence, the opposite works better to allow you to grip at high speed and get around the higher speed sections better.

I've been trying to find out more about the DLC schedule, see if I can find out when other packs are being released (the Shibuya one has me most interested, probably because we know the least about it). However, the Codemasters forums are useless; all anyone ever does over there is complain.

Those narrow stretches look fun, not much room for 2 I imagine. Definite buy.

Off-topic, do most wheel stands move around like that?
