Absolutely loving it. All I wanted out of GT7 was the classic and traditional GT elements with GT Sport’s foundation and that’s exactly what I got. That being said, I have no reason to ever go back to GTS again and I deleted it from my PS5.

My only major complaint so far is how the economy is so blatantly geared towards the microtransactions. Roulette tickets giving you the worst prize the majority of the time, custom race payouts have been heavily nerfed compared to GTS (a 200 lap race only pays out 100K) and so on. Hopefully with enough backlash, this will be changed. It's bad enough that the game is 99% reliant on an internet connection. On a lesser note, not a fan of tuning being allowed in daily races either but it's far from a deal breaker. And seeing as how the game has only been available for barely more than 24 hours, I'm willing to patiently wait and see how they play out in the coming weeks or so. Especially since we don't even have a Race C right now.

Handling seems a lot more manageable if you lose the tail and run no assists so that is great. GTS seemed a bit too lose.
Are we playing the same game? Lol. Seems the exact opposite to me. Guessing your on controller perhaps? Also, counter steering is enabled by default even if you chose to turn off all assists. Maybe you still have it on?

Nope, on wheel and CS off. It just fees easier to recover from a tail whip.

Maybe it is because I haven't played GTS in months so all feels fresh again.

That was what stopped me racing online in an older GT game. I can't remember which one it was now, but I went into a race, and people had cars that were miles faster than mine. I looked to see if there were any races that were limited to fixed spec cars so it could be a driving race rather than a contest for who is willing to spend ages getting the credits to make the fastest car, and couldn't see that any such races existed, so never bothered again. GTS had this problem solved with its emphasis on racing cars in stock form, so I'm not sure why they've broken it again for GT7.
Some (many?) wanted tuning races and I think it's great that these people have been listened to. Unfortunately they have not taken into account that many of just just want to go race, I don't want to have to tune. Maybe in Manu I've give it a go as it's 2 cars for a season, but dailies and Nations (or whatever we get) I'm just not interested.

When they use BOP based races in Dailies tuning is set back to default - see manual: Sport section I think. So I think going forward we will see mixture of tuning and non tuning races. Its only a few days in and tuning is the much requested addition so understandable will start with tuning races.

  • The cost of modifying vehicles is a little ridiculous. Can't imagine how they figure full modification on a street vehicle for a couple hundred Horsepower (at best) costs 100,000+ (and that doesn't even include tires, turbo, nitrous, OR customizable upgrades). And don't get me started on the heavily overpriced oil changes and body kits...
I own 2017 Mustang GT and a racing suspension is easy 2500$ so is in the game around 2500 credits and this doesn't include all the bolts that you need or a shop install charge. Next good racing air filter is easy 300-500$ without a tune and this days ECU tune goes for 800-1000$ so yeah I think prices in the tuning shop are very real and you don't have to wait for parts which is another huge issue this days. Overall much enjoyable tuning experience then IRL and really realistic easy to go broke tuning that VW Beetle.

I really like the game overall... but I don't like how so many of the races have rolling starts. They feel like chases where i'm trying to catch a car that is already halfway up the track rather than an actual race.

I'm several hours in at level 7 collector and so far almost everything has been positive. I'm using the dualsense and I'm really impressed with the haptic feedback. Only started using my PS5 for a few weeks and GT7 is the third game I'm playing on it. Problem is I suffer from mouse finger so I'm gonna have to lower the trigger feedback or even turn it off as it's too much for me after a few hours.

Before hand I read about how we have to unlock everything in GT world but I was still caught off guard with how slow this process takes. I'm not sure if I agree with this approach. I think they should've at least separated arcade mode and put it in the startup screen, have a selection of cars and tracks from the get go in the same way GT3 did it. That way we could check things out before diving into GT World. First thing I wanted to do was see Deep Forest and Trial Mountain but of course I couldn't do that.

I like how the café is our quest giver but I'm not sure I like the idea of it being tied to unlocking things. I was under the impression before playing that this was optional but no it's required for further progress. Would have done the quests anyway but still would've preferred if you unlock events by completing events.

For the completionists like me I would've preferred if they displayed your highest race position/trophy underneath the event before selecting it. It's annoying to have to select the event to view it on the top right every time.

Lastly, music is such a big thing for me and so far I'm of two minds with GT7's selection. I'm happy that GT5 and 6's menu music was included but at the same time they seem to dominate the new music. Personally I prefer for each game to have their own selection of music, which is how I form nostalgia for that game. So if I hear music from GT5 or GT6 I associate them with their respective game, not GT7. Same with the racing bgm, it's been mostly GT4 nostalgic music. This isn't really a complaint, just something that's important to me. I may tweak the music playlist later on.

Everything that's been said about the AI and the races, I mean, it's GT, it's to be expected so I won't repeat the criticisms there. Still, I'm having fun with this release and I'm looking forward to how it evolves. GT7 will be staying on my PS5.

Welcome To GT’s rabbit chase. GT’s races have been a rolling start for ages now can’t remember which version had standing starts last or qualifying for that matter.

Aside from having to suffer through music rally for 3 hours while waiting for a 90GB download... Loving it.

Compared to GT Sport the graphics are better, sound is better, the physics are better (including the way grip falls away and the car transitions into oversteer or understeer) and dare I say it, the AI is a lot better. The whole experience feel polished.

Wish I could just dive into any track in any car, but I guess that's part of the GT experience. Either way, PD has nailed it

Missions (I just remembered mission 34)
Ah ha! Get it! I tried the one with the Fiat 500s..... they're like a ravenous pack of little terriers! Haven't finished it yet because they keep punting me off! 🤣

Ok I was doing the first race in the americas and it was easy to get first now my game has gone in to idiot mode,or maybe I am the idiot which is more than likely. I can not get on to any other race in the americas and after I complete the first race around the typical oval I don't get an option to continue to next race just the same race again and again? If I press circle and I have the map of the americas the only one lit up is the one I have just done so I haven't a clue how to complete any more races there even though it states I have done 1 from 10 or 15 races!!!!! I thought oh never mind I will go and do the licences, They are not on my screen anywhere! I had a look online at a image of the map where your garage and cafe etc is and on the map all the places are available, on my game there is 4 lit up.
Is my game dodgy or how do I get the rest of the icons up? All I want to do is drive and have fun which I was doing in the music challenge mode but now I am in world map I feel I need a degree in techno faffyness to get anything to work.
Please help.

Games feels good.... But i am missing some things! Again..... Skit marks? Where are they? Exhaust flames?

And chase cam is better then sport but still something is not right.

O yes and where are my Brake Cones?!

But love IT so far!

My first impressions: GT7 (playing on my previous gen PS4 Pro) makes the cars from FH5 (playing on my current gen XBox Series X) look like plastic toys.

You need to work through GT Cafe

PS4 pro. Great !!!! Big improvement from GT Sport. FWD cars is again fun to drive. AI is very challenge on hard level with all driving aids turned off, in some cases is impossible to drive without ABS on comfort tyres. Tracks are again to much smooth and this is most negative impression to me, Some bumps would be nice. FFB could be 1 level better but is big jump from GT Sport. So far very promising Gran Turismo maybe best one. I hope trackpath editor will return to GT7 ........... 9/10

The HDR is completely broken which has been pointed out already in a few online reviews. Its far to bright and washed out it looks awful even compared to GT Sport. The HDR calibration settings are rubbish and don't even work properly.Go check out the in game HDR settings of Sport then compare them with GT7.For some reason when you go in to Display settings and choose the settings assistant, after choosing frame rate it brings to boxes up, one being exposure and the other Saturation. There is a picture of a Porsche on track with trees either side, go in to exposure to reduce and it alters nothing it's completely useless and the screen remains too bright and washed out.
I have posted about this issue on here about the HDR.

Yeah, Goodwood looks terrible in that license test. Some of the worst HDR I've ever seen, if that is what it is. Hopefully fixable.

Long time GT fan from PS1 days and massive racing game fan in general and I have to say that GT7 is the most impressive racing game/sim ever in my opinion and a standout PS5 title.
My impressions have good from "Wow this is pretty" to "OMG this is a revelation!!"

The presentation, the crazy but good UI, the lovely jazzy funky music, the in game sound, the new handling model and of course the insane graphics. The whole package is just incredible.
Not perfect of course but I can honestly say I have not played a game that impressed me so much as GT7 in a LONG time. The longer I play the more it impresses me which is unusual for modern games.
I've played for around 10hrs using the dual sense and the sense of control I get from it is so good. I don't use adaptive triggers but the haptics are very good.
Have not tried it with my G29 wheel yet. That's today's fun task.
My only negatives is the slightly boring A.I and maybe a few strange physics behaviour on some cars but even the best hardcore sims like ACC or AMS2 have similar issues.
The car selection could be more expansive but more cars and tracks and other goodies are coming and the amount of content already there is more than enough to keep my busy for months.
Very happy racer here :-)
