Mods for all those standard cars seems highly improbable, we should already be glad if they revised the jaggy edges and updated the worst looking ones.I have to book off to work, but Kaz did say, I think at the Silverstone unveil, that the Standards wouldn't be standard anymore, and get the same modification options as the Premiums. Or most of them. Surely some industrious googler can find it within a few.

Both Countaches, Cizeta and Corvette C2 were present in GT5 but they are shown on the list as new cars. Maybe it's a mistake? I hope that there are many more hidden premiums on the list![]()
"No functional differences" was the operative phrase I believe.I have to book off to work, but Kaz did say, I think at the Silverstone unveil, that the Standards wouldn't be standard anymore, and get the same modification options as the Premiums. Where as you did state a good point, I personally think it still looks a little rough around the edges on the top right pic....even with the bad quality pic. How much was this pic magnified? I assume it is a stillshot right? The hood vent also looks like it's actually modeled now instead of just being a texture with shading to make it look like it's a vent.

it still looks like it has the window tint of standard cars.

There is one point in the video (around the 5:50 mark) where the guy next to him catches up a 2 second gap all of a sudden with a standard Nissan Pennzoil GTR, because it is almost at a standstill at the apex of the corner.

To me it seems:
-Standards still look exactly the same as in GT5 (PS2 quality).
-AI is still slow and comes to a standstill mid corner...
-Engine sounds still sound the same as GT5.
GT5.5 it is gentlemen, do hope the reviews will prove me wrong but i doubt it.
So, because 3 things haven't been improved among a flurry of other improvements it's suddenly not a standalone game? There is one point in the video (around the 5:50 mark) where the guy next to him catches up a 2 second gap all of a sudden with a standard Nissan Pennzoil GTR, because it is almost at a standstill at the apex of the corner.

No offence but you must be joking; he starts dead last (yes chase the rabbit mode makes a welcome return), and passes practically the whole field in the first lap, including an Audi R8 LMP1?Have you seen Jordan's latest video? In the replay the AI seem pretty improved over GT5. Not perfect, but improved.

I still can't believe why Sony thinks it's a wise decision to keep the standard cars in the series. Seeing these pictures really make me reconsider whether I want this game.
