First in game look at "standard" cars in Granturismo 6

The way I see it:

GT6 gets 1200 cars, people's reaction: PD, why the hell did you keep standards?
Forza 5 gets 200 cars, people's reaction: Turn10, why the hell did you delete the cars from previous Forzas?

Seriously people... Get your **** together... You're just pathetic, how can a developer win this? Well, they can't.

Some would argue the difference in graphics between the current gen and next gen consoles this time round isn't as big as the jump between PS2 to PS3. If Forza 4 cars were carried over to Forza 5, I doubt there would be many complaints about low-poly models. Devs just need to understand when the timing is right.

You can't please everyone. That's how humans are built, they just want everything to be perfect, but that's impossible.

Bitching about the car count is silly, all you need is a good diverse selection and a 100 cars would be enough already.
Complaining about the quality is justified i think, especially when graphically there is such a huge difference and your immersion on those beautifully created tracks with top notch lighting get's busted when there's an ugly PS2 car in your line of vision.

It's like baking the perfect steak and serving it with sloppy burned fries... (yes we all like fries but that would ruin the experience).

We'll never see a finished game again. What a shame.

My Flintstones NES game had a bug that caused Peter to stay stuck in one of the final stages irreversibly. It took many attempts (restarting the game from the begining) to reach the end.

In the legend of Zelda I lost a game almost complete because using the mirror to switch between worlds I fell into an inaccessible area.

In Gran Turismo 2 a programming error prevented complete 100% of the game.

"Unfinished games" have always existed, the only thing that has changed is that now errors can be corrected and the games can be expanded more easily.

Wrong analogy my friend. You can see it as the perfect steak, and perfect fries. Then the waiter comes with another steak and asks if you want if for free. You take it and see that it's not as good as the first one. Now you can make a choice: take it or leave it. Funnily enough some people would go to the waiter and try to convince him that it's his fault for showing the second stake in the first place. It can get even better. The waiter is such a good guy that he tries to apologize by fixing the stake. But now you are harrassing the waiter for having made you enthousiastic with a second steak, but it was wrong from the beginning so both the first and the second steak are crap, they don't fit together on the same plate so the whole meal was a piece of ****. You swear never to go to this restaurant again because you think the waiter is a complete douche.

It works for the 'other' game too:
You go to another restaurant. You order steak because you heard it's better in this place. You get steak and fries, and it's lovely, but when the bill comes you say you won't pay for it because you didn't get a second steak. Now you're harrassing the waiter because he asks you money for a second steak. You tell him what cheap person he is because they used to serve two steaks. The waiter tells you the steak takes more time to make these days, but it gets all the better for it. But you, no, you have to whine about that second steak because you feel you are entitled to it even though you walked into this restaurant out of free will, knowing what you would get.

I hope that gets the point across with what's wrong with some of you people...

No, it's not!

100 cars? Are you crazy? This is Gran Turismo, not NFS or some soul-less PC sim. :(

The first Gran Turismo had already 166 cars. Then grew up to almost 700. We're used to big car counts and that's how it should be.
GT1 was a great game back in the day and exceeded everything that was on offer on PS1, something i can't say of GT5 and there's a big chance i won't be able to say that of GT6 neither...

Oh, you really drove +100 cars in GT5?? You should have been really bored to do it.

Hahahahahah

You guys or are "racing only" lovers or I don't know what you are. Car lovers isn't.

The magic of Gran Turismo is to be "The real DRIVING simulator". Driving the most cars you can, getting to know them, read about them in the descriptions, know different cars that you didn't knew before. Have fun racing a slow kei car or a supercar. It's all in the package.

I drove, customized, loved, tried, driven again and again and again each one of my almost 1100 cars. 300 premiums, 800 standards. And I love every single one of them.

GT5 wouldn't be the same without the BMW M3 CSL for example. I wish it was premium, I agree, but it's not... I enjoy the standard. Without it, I'll miss it.

You guys are looking and acting weird. You don't look like Gran Turismo players.

If you play GT since the beginning, it's impossible to not understand how "oh, you really drove +100 cars in GT5".

Good for you, you should be proud.

I like playing games to have fun, and considering that GT has never been a simulator yet, playing with firends and have some fun with several cars is the only worthy thing in GT5.

It's my opinion, you may like it or not, but I'm not judging anybody for the way they play, look or act ;)

I think the point is why on earth would you come back to the restaurant (GT series) despite being continually disappointed and annoyed by some GT's features (fries and steak).

And I agree. You don't come back to the restaurant to bitch about their steaks.

Because i love their steaks but each time i have to tell those bonehead waiters that they should leave out their **** fries ;)

So fries are standard and steaks are premium?
Exactly 👍

Premiums being GOOD steak and fries and standards being MEDIOCORE steak and fries. Nobody forces you to eat the mediocore one and you can still fully enjoy the good one. However if there are people who still do love the mediocore steak, you pretty much don't have the entitlement to force the restaurant to remove the mediocore one from the menu.

That is getting complicated :)

EDIT: Oh, and there are always other restaurants if you know what I mean. And I am generally not the guy saying 'dont buy it if you don't like it', but this situation of standards vs premiums is getting out of hand IMO.

You are talking about 2 different menu's, i'm taking about premium steak getting ruined by crap fries. Now let's stop the food talk before the mods shut down our restaurant :D

Why leave out the fries? You don't get what I'm trying to say. But to change it to what you say now:

You get steak and fries. You pay for the steak, the fries are free. You don't like 'em, but you love the steak, best steak you ever, EVER had. You tell the management that they should leave the fries out forever, even though other people really like 'em. Then other people join in and start yelling that because the fries are there the whole dish is ruined because of the difference in quality. Yet the fries are FREE!!!

Alright we've gone from discussing standard cars to restaurants and steak quality in five posts! :gtpflag:

I know you were not talking to me but.

yes I did, even much more than that.
Every car I get gets taken out for at least a few laps around the ring.
