FITT 535PP FR Tuner Challenge

 About the Nurb 24 - I believe diversity is always welcomed. Maybe you'd reconsider this wonderful circuit.

And I prefer more people on the track for having more victims beaten. đź‘Ť :sly:

Ironically, I used to prefer it to the normal track, as I feel there's more grip at the 24H version. If I practise from now until GT6 comes out, then may be I'll stand a chance at re-learning the longer track :sly:

I like chasing people down, almost as much as I enjoy racing for the lead, but some times it feels like I'm in an eliminator race and I'm the one doing the eliminating. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been hunting people down at the back of the pack for each and every one of them to quit once I've passed them :mischievous:

Yes my friend, yes, I like what I'm reading!  đź‘Ť

Congrats to all podiumers! This was a really good shootout, in cars I would probably have given a wide berth to without the fantastic efforts of the tuners. Another shootout would be good before GT6. It would probably be too difficult to organise, but was there much take up of the champion of champions idea mentioned in the FITT thread a while back?

I think we have time for a quick shootout. Many of the past champions are no longer active in GT5. I think we could put track up for a vote and maybe a list of cars up for a vote and make it a single car shootout. Thoughts?

Wha about the Gineta at 430PP sport hard or 400PP comfort soft. I'm working on it right now, it's not competitive but it's an amazing car drive with the right setting. Eiger is perfect for it.

I'm getting addicted to increasingly build setup even more on a team that only has the Champs GTPALNET my opinion would welcome a shootout of 450 pp (FF) all off tire wear fast circuit with maximum laps made 15 for example (TOSCANA (TARMAC)/cHANGE TIME) would be exciting for tires last and do a good time.đź’ˇ

I'm not sure how to work it out, but with this talk of vintage cars, I was reminded of watching some of the Goodwood Revival races with my wife the other day. We were watching the St Mary's Trophy race which ended in an epic battle between a Ford Galaxie and an Alfa 1600 GTA. Never would you have thought two cars were so mismatched, but after 17 laps, there was only 0.5 sec separating them. The way the drivers had to drive the two cars was remarkable, the Galaxie braking far, far earlier than the Alfa, which skipped lightly through the corners, only for the Ford to lay the power down in the straight bits. Truly engrossing racing and maybe inspiration for a David vs Goliath event?

I've not really run many of the vintage cars, so couldn't tell you if there are a number of evenly (mis)matched cars to choose from. Anyway, have a look at the below link and then check out the race results for the Fordwater Trophy and the St Mary's Trophy, see if there's anything that makes you squeal as loudly as my wife did when she saw these old bangers being properly thrown around đź‘Ť

Since I race a Miata in real life, I would be up for a Spec Miata challenge. Tune any 1989 to 2004 Miata to 400PP on comfort soft tires. I would enjoy that, but would any of you?

With my limited (very limited) tuning knowledge, any of those cars would be fun for me or extremely irritating. I've never really given them the attention they deserve especially in the 350-400pp range. Add that with a track that you don't find yourself racing on often...

I'd find it interesting if someone who wasn't entering the shootout made the car and track choice, so as to completely eliminate any advantage or bias before tuning even begins...

And thank you for all the kind messages, uni is certainly a pretty big step up from school.

MX-5s turn up a little too often in this game, for my liking. I'm happy to build an older one though. I caught my wife looking at NBs on Autotrader last night, so the chances of us adopting one irl are getting higher every day :sly:

Low PP always gets my vote, I'm not a fan of high PP stuff, mostly because they're beyond my abilities to drive consistently..!!

A community vote on car and track? That's fraught with peril, I like it...

Doesn't have to be the Miata. Was trying to think of one car brand that GT5 has many of. NSX would also work. GT-Rs, but now we are into higher PP and 4wd.

Or should we go totally obscure. Maybe we let Krenkme pick the car? :)

Hi guys, I don't post often though I am on here almost everyday. Have to say I enjoyed your last challenge, so much so that I started my own to get me through 'til GT6 comes. Here is what I am doing; 550pp v8 Modern Muscle.
The rules - 1300kg min, 1450kg max,...must have rear aero max setting of 10 and top speed set to 205mph min. Full engine break in and power limiter limit of 97% min, ballast allowed up to 100kg. sport soft tires. The track - Autumn Ring reverse (1 of my least favorites). :yuck: The cars - `97 Z28, `00 Camaro SS, `10 Camaro SS, `90 ZR1, `00 Z06, `04 Z06, `04 Pontiac GTO, Premuim Mustang, `00 SVT Cobra, Challenger. I`m struggling to get the Mustangs to be competetive, maybe you guys can pick 1 of them and help me by posting your tunes  Edit; forgot the Corvette Grand Sport

I think Hami deserves a dedicated Miata Shootout just like this, as an appreciation for all his efforts. đź‘Ť

After that we can full-fill the "Ring" with Miatas and enjoy them online. ;)

I second that...Hami needs some more recognition for all of the stuff he had to do with this last shootout; meanwhile doing the interview for GTPlanet.

Sound good i love to take those Miata to the Ring 400PP CS :sly:

How about we make a combination of all of the above? We'll let MCH have his Miatas (you're right, he does deserve it) but we pair it up with something a little more 'muscle'?

I like the idea of a lightweight vs heavyweight dog fight. The only issue I can see is that it might not be that straight forward identifying a suitable heavyweight. MCH is right, there are more MX-5s than you can wave a sh***y stick at, but I'm not sure there's a similarly abundant heavyweight :indiff:

What if also include the race by those cars online as we take those tunes of this shootout as one tuner + one driver and post the race position here :D

I am starting to like the idea of having Krenkme pick the most obscure car he can think of.

Let's move this conversation to the FITT forum...

Awesome to be semi-featured by association!

I wouldn't mind a Miatas at the Ring challenge. But, what about small roadsters at the ring? Any Miata, S2000, or the Z4 '03. Excluding Tuner/ TC/ LM of course.
