FITT: Blind Tuning Challenge! Congrats to Bowtie-muscle & Otaliema! Tuners Revealed!!

Thanks for the kind words. I will most likely test for the next event. As for the guessing part.. My brain is drained from analyzing the different behaviour of the tunes in order to adapt to them, so no guessing from me this time around.
Most likely a VERY wise choice in not guessing, Thank You so very much for the kind words on my tune, were you gracious or pleased is the question? Since I cannot tell you which tune it was, you have to figure out if I went from :scared: or :D ...... to :ouch: or ......................your times were really good and consistent with the others, always appreciate feedback:tup:

Now as far as guessing goes, there is only one tester left, @demonchilde and he is returning from a long layoff so I am not sure if he will guess or not, or how familiar with the tuners he is. SOOOOOOO...........should be safe to say now, the best guesser('s) have a score of 4/12. 11 tuners plus one guess for the Unknown Tuner. Not as easy as it sounds to figure out who is who. And this is after the revealing of who two of the tuners are.:lol::lol:

Thanks again @LordJCS :dopey:

I am going to do my best to work on this when I get home after work tonight (thats where I am now), and 'hope' to be able to get everything organized enough to post in the morning.
Understand though, my comments for each tune are not going to be quite as long as most have been thus far. Kind of, just a quick 2 cents, then moving on. This is not because I disliked or liked any tune, but more to get it done. That sounds bad, but trust me, I'm not going to be rushing so to say, more like just picking up the pace a bit.
After this event is done, I am going to be more careful about when and If I sign up to test though. My schedule is very erratic, and although testing a few cars isn't that big a deal, we had a lot more running then I thought it was going to be. I was thinking, maybe 5 or so.
I dont like to be the reason others are held up :(
I am sorry, live and learn I guess, lol.
I will do what I can guys ^^

I was just being sincere. I was pretty much pleased by all the tunes in this line-up tbh as they all brought something different to the table so to speak.

No pressure, Saturday at midnight is the deadline so you are not holding anything up. How much or how little you say in your review is up to you. @biffa3 can say a lot in a few words, so do not feel as though it is too short. DO NOT rush, plenty of time left, I think I stretched the testing period out a bit too long but it has brought in more testers. Did think it was going to be longer before @DolHaus and I got all the tunes posted so testing did start early, which is why it seems like it is taking forever.

OTANIZE  :The word otanize entails different meanings and usages relative to how it is conceptually applied. The concrete meaning of the Latin word "otanize" is "wandering" or "straying". Unlike an illusion, an error or a mistake can sometimes be dispelled through knowledge (knowing that one is looking at a mirage and not at real water does not make the mirage disappear). For example, a person who uses too much of an ingredient in a recipe and has a failed product can learn the right amount to use and avoid repeating the mistake. However, some otanize can occur even when individuals have the required knowledge to perform a task correctly. Examples include forgetting to collect change after buying chocolate from a vending machine, forgetting the original document after making photocopies, and forgetting to turn the gas off after cooking a meal. Some otanize occur when an individual is distracted by something else.

No hard feelings my friend , but don`t give munitions to someone who you know will use them. :gtpflag:
You're way off base. Otanize is the lack of proper spelling of words though normal or short form but with in general proper grammar. Such as;
Hey stop that. Would appear as Hye stop tah.
Once analyzed it found that speakers of Otanize are not lacking intelligence but rather their fingers are not able to move as fast their heads when typing so words are often miss spelled as they are trying to type faster than they should.

Your review was great, just having a little fun since you do not know which tune was mine. Did you like, was it not that great, only I know, and I am not saying just yet. :sly:

You did tighten the leader board, getting close and coming down to the wire for the top spots. That means good tunes and testing by all 👍

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out in the end. I imagine it's going to be a close one.

Nice come back 👍, but not your best, you'll have to settle for a 9.5 score, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll soon get a chance to raise your average.

Alright guys, it's review time.

As stated in a previous post of mine the cars were all given 3 10lap sessions, all driving aids off except for abs set to 1. "Human" input device: DS3, analog sticks and manual trans with L1 R2.

This is, if my memory serves me correctly, my second time reviewing tunes for you guys. Just like the last time i had a blast doing this, so thanks for providing me with all the fun and tunes.

Let's get down to business shall we?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tune#1: RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.873
DC: 9,5

This one was fast, stable and reliable. Pretty much a "point and squirt" type of car. Good brakes, rotation was also good. It does however suffer from a tiny squint of understeer at certain key points on the track, other than that a rock solid tune.

Well done
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#2 S2000

Best lap: 1:11.534
DC: 9,2

Had me a blast trying to figure this odd ball out. First thing that struck me was the standard gearbox, an interesting choice to say the least. I was worried at first that the gearing would mess with the rest of the setup, but that was not the case.

It handled the track quite well if you disregard it's tendencies to understeer at times when pushed, and oversteers when you go below 3rd gear. As stated i had a blast with this thing.
Good job!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#3 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.887
DC: 9,3

I found this one to be fast and stable. Good amount of rotation when needed. However, it did not agree with the first right hander after the tunnel. Broke traction too easily so getting on the throttle had to be "feathered", which in turn cost me some valuable time. Still managed consistant 1:10's so i'm quite happy with that.

Well done.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#4 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.720
DC: 9,5

I goofed on this one at first. Managed to run it with standard trans for the most part of the test and hit 1:11.173
and thought it was an odd choice of having standard gears on a rotary considering the narrow power band.

Had a quick look and noticed it WAS supposed to have a custom tranny setup i face palmed and shook my head in disbelief. I must be getting old..

Anywho... On with the custom tranny setting and set off on track. And just like that i was in the 1:10 territory.

The car now handled like a dream. Just point it where you want to go and off it goes. Nice job on this tune, really solid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#5 S2000

Best lap: 1:10.995
DC: 9,6

Surprisingly fast this little thing.

The fastest of the S2000's, atleast in my hands anyway. Solid tune, good gearing. Had no issues with this one whatsoever.

Well done!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#6 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.708
DC: 9,4
A well balanced tune. Good rotation. Fast and stable. You can easily throw this car around the track without any fuzz. This tune instills you with confidence.

Nice job!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#7 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.844
DC: 9,2

Fun and stable tune. The gearing made it easy to handle the corner exits, especially with the pesky chicane after the tunnel. I could really step on the power in that section with upmost confidence that the car would stick.

Really amusing to drive. Well done.

................................................................................................................

Tune#8 S2000

Best lap: 1:11.544
DC: 9,0

This one was a slidy little bugger. Had to take it by the scruff of it's neck to be able to post a decent time. It got really loose in the rear under braking, but once you were aware of it's behaviour it was easy to predict what it was going to do. Had some good 'ol fashioned fun flinging this one around the track.

Good job.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#9 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.363
DC: 9,7

My fastest run was made with this one.

The handling... It's so forgiving. You can pretty much do what you want with it and it will gladly follow every command like the most loyal dog.

The sheer speed you can carry thru the corners, and the stability thru the tight bits put a giant smile on my face.

To whomever it may concern: This was a pure joy! Great work.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#10 RX-8

Best lap: 1:10.508
DC: 9,3

Fast and stable thru the whole session. Handles beautifuly. Enjoyed diving it.

Good job.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tune#11 S2000

Best lap: 1:11.892
DC: 8,6

Not sure what to feel about this one to be honest.. Normaly i can sense what a car wants from me but this one didn't really reveal what it wanted. I found that to be quite strange. It's like someone is trying to throw me a curveball.

If your goal was to confuse me, you've succeeded galantly.

You get a slightly higher score due to the confusion. Well done.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There we go people. review is done.

Cheers and thanks for providing me with the fun and the tunes!

:gtpflag::cheers::gtpflag:

Awesome review, if this is your first time testing in FITT, congrats  I saw my car gave good times to another tester. Still can't say which one, but I am happy you enjoyed it ;)

What do you mean "And now ....", I've been waiting for what seems ages , and I'm also very curious to see how it all unravels, I know where I'm sitting, just curious to see in what order all those people are in front off me :odd:, sorry :sly:, was looking in the wrong direction . Poker anyone?
No. No you had it right looking at the leaders as they watch you car turn to spec in their mirrors :mischievous:
I'll do 5 card stud or Texas hold 'em got a deck? I got some spare parts around here for chips .

welcome great job very good times:bowdown::cheers:👍

on the other subject.........
My father used to be a casino - tournament player. from about say 5 or 6, my brother and I were taught poker. He 'trained' us in different styles. The reason being is that he used us to practice on before tournaments. He would tell us how to play, (examples: 1.aggressive, 2.conservative, 3.Kamikaze) and basically read us.
Moral of the story is, my brother and I are fun to play cards with. But you would be a fool to put money down, lol. I would not say we were sharks, but I would say if you can't compete against them, probably shouldn't compete with us either. ^^
OK, back to racing ;)
