FITT Fall Battle 2.0 - Coastal Concept Challenge: Praiano wins!

I'm doing 2.46 with the GTR Black Mask.. but i'm still learning how to tune them with the help of my test driver. :)

2:39's should be your goal:idea:

Keep in mind, the fastest way around Cape Ring often involves going over the curbs and straightening out certain corners, keeping two wheels on the track of course. If you tune the car so it can't handle the curbs (too stiff) and only stick to the tarmac, you could be losing valuable time.

I can shoot you a starting point if you want, based on my online SS tune for the Black Mask. It's one of my favourites at the 'Ring.

I suspect the GT's might run away with their adjustable front downforce...

I'm hoping the latest update will rob them of enough top end speed to make up the difference of the increased downforce. Kind of silly to be relying on PD for anything though...:nervous::ouch::scared::crazy:

EDIT: Sorry for the double post!

Adding to the OP:

Photo poll: All tuners named Johnnypenso must submit photos of their cars from 12 different angles for inclusion in the photo poll. Losing entries will have their cars disqualified on account of "I said so".

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Juuuuuuuust kidding!

Funny guy!!! I didn't read the OP for the Autumn Ring Shootout very well and didn't realize the photo counted for 1/3 the score:drool: I just took a lame picture and submitted it and I think I got one vote...my own...lol. Had first wrapped up and got trounced in the photo poll!!!

All right, here we go. I can't miss a great shootout, even if I'm very far from home. So I called upon my GT playing partner, and daughter, to help me. Now she doesn't tune (she leaves the to me :sly: ), but she can race 👍. So I asked her to see what I may have started a tune on for this shootout. A Land Rover, a BMW, a Pontiac... and more, but she didn't like any of them. Then she remembered a tune I made for a friend in the 400pp TT a few weeks ago. Removing most of the weight, and giving it its power back (and then some :D) we have this tune. And just to finish of this family tune, it is pink... thanks Kate :grumpy:

This was a Time Trial tune that has now become a family made shootout tune. Thank you very much to my oldest daughter (even if you did paint it PINK :P) Enjoy everyone.

Hi DB, is there another spot free for the GSX-R/4? (I promise not to peek at krenkme's settings!)

Otherwise, I'll put up a partner in crime to CyKosis' BMW 1 series tii please.

As long as there aren't an ungodly number of tunes (10 in my book), I'll sign up as a tester, too.

This last picture is very nice , i love it, sensation of speed and the pilot with the head down between the shoulders........ great.

Congratulations Kate. :)👍

Could i join in as a tester?

Sure! I will get you added to the listing.

You did have quite the car. I had you figured for a newbie and you came out firing with both barrels! Now I have high expectations of you. :D

krenkme
Now she doesn't tune (she leaves the to me :sly: ), but she can race 👍.

...

... thanks Kate

Boy can she! She's what...10?...and way faster than me. Especially in that stupid forsaken coconut car. :grumpy: Way to help out the "old man" there, Princess K. Thank you, indeed.

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned the Suzuki other than krenkme so you should be okay. It does look like we'll get closer to 20 tunes though. I didn't want to separate into groups but if it is a problem I can try to come up with something.

Keep in mind folks, I'm not really taking "reservations", but so far I've seen some awesome communication as far as who wants to do what and sharing of ideas and cars. It is exactly what I was hoping to see. You guys give me hope for humanity. :sly:

I realize there are going to be a couple "elite" cars in the group, which is why they are normally excluded. I'm hoping that Hami's scoring system will keep things close so that people car enter the fun cars that might be a little slower but still have a shot at winning.

i think my RX8 concept II it will be one of the slower cars but its have alot of fun on it and also have the drift mode on it in first, second and last corner entry . :)

maybe it will be fun for the tester but it will not bring me the winning and i hope Hami's scoring system make something with my car :dopey:

What is the top speed of the cars that got into 2:39.xxx in Cape Ring ? I only managed 158 mph in the main straight. Need to tune the transmission more :)

OP: "Be aware that because these are concept cars, they are not all created equal. Some will have ridiculous amounts of grip or no grip at all and some will have hidden or unadjustable downforce. That is just the way it is. If you are worried about someone having an "unfair" advantage then this way not be for you. If you are going to enter make sure you understand this."

So , what's the decision about this ??? I've spent time on this Citroen GT road car. Please tell me if it will be ok or not.
Thanks.

Hi DB,
A couple of questions about the rules please:
- will grip reduction be "real" or "low" for testing?
- is steering sensitivity the same for everyone or do testers use their preference or can I specify it as part of the tune?

Thanks,
Simon

In order to give better experience for testers, I am tuning my Camaro IROC Z with ABS user in mind, the car still has a base tune, with low BB and not yet broken in ( not a final tune ). It is on share now, anyone are invited to drive the car and let me know if there are any issue with braking or anything. I am trying to find a decent BB that work and nice to drive. I hope this does not break any rule., any comment about the car, PM me on PSN or GTP.

Hello there, people. I would like to sign up as a test driver myself. My PSN name? Look to the left, below my name. It ain't that hard! I hope I can test all cars, but my timetable is a bit slim, if you get my drill.

Don't remember off the top of my head but I can check the replay later today and let you know. I haven't touched the transmission yet though other than setting top speed. It might be sacrilege to say this, but I think much of the time, transmission tuning is vastly overrated. I think Praiano's method has sort of become the defacto standard and beyond that basic method, there's little else one can do with the transmission to gain anything from the car. Some cars don't fit the mold, like the Zonda C12 for example where the power drops off dramatically at the top of the rev range and so for those you set the top speed much higher and shift well before the redline But it's true that most cars peak power comes up high in the rev range and the standard transmission tuning method will work.

Thanks man , and yes , I'm searching for some GT-R tunes to see what I'm dealing with..

Problem is, most or maybe all of the tunes you find will be online tunes which might not give you the zip you're looking for in an offline shootout.

My car is one of those with odd power curve, the horsepower drops before the red line with massive torque from as low as 3000rpm :(, I'll be focusing on acceleration then :D

The OP means it's ok to enter whichever car, it's merely stating that some cars will have advantages. I think at least. DB?

I was making an observation, that's all, ignore me.

Use ridiculously long gears. I'll be testing your Camaro, I was always interested in this "American F40" (if what PD claimed in the description is true), and every bit to help you out would be a bonus. :D

Haha, thank you, you will love the color combination, A-team style , and I am tuning with ABS approach, check out the default BB:), you can always adjust it to your liking, enjoy:sly:

I saw. Very nice, actually. Though I don't get quite why it's at 548PP…and I noticed the brakes, mainly because I didn't crash right off the bat. It's very different from your previous cars, that's all I'm going to say for now. :P

:embarrassed::embarrassed: Wow, that's a relieve for me, the car has a very low miles, it needs to be break in, that is why lower than 550pp. If you didn't crash that means the BB will not kill anyone now

Ughh…this Viper had better be worth it, been cycling the ticket since an hour ago, just about. Still no luck. :grumpy:

It's DB's call of course, but I believe you are supposed to choose a brake balance you feel is appropriate to the car/track/tire/pp combination and that's the BB that it gets tested with. If drivers can adjust the BB to their own preference then they are sort of tuning the car to some extent as well.

Oh, forgot about that, I think I have found the appropriate ABS BB for my car, so no worries.

Onboy, sorry I forgot the car can not be gifted :(

I have the Viper GTS R Concept'00, I can dupe it for you it has 139.3 miles. I just changed the wheel, stock.

Sadly, Diogo's right. If it could be traded, I'd have gone off to the market place with all my DLC paints up for grabs.
