@Motor City Hami, one thing I was wondering with the Spec Miata part, will the list stay "big" with the MX-5 vs MX-5 Miata versions or will it shrink like the Improved Touring Class did?

I like the list that is posted now. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...s-and-test-drivers.291311/page-7#post-9335986 All of these cars should have the special livery when painted. That is what I really love about that class. Personally I wanted to tune for that class, but making it for new comers is the right decision. I will likely test drive for that class though because it should be soooooo much fun.

Hami I have showed people that post and we get anywere from 8 to 10 guys racing those PURE series cars with no Aides. Its a blast, nothing but positive comments and cars look great with the stripes.

@Motor City Hami, I agree that the livery is the main plus for just including both sets. One question that i probably already know,
Inch Up: 1 Rim Change required
Does this mean just that you have to change rims or does it have to be 1 inch up rims?

Here is my parts guide on the MX-5 '89 for the Spec Miata event. The whole thing is set to meet the requirements for the event of 135 HP and max of 90% power limiter. The car needed 10 kg to meet requirements, which I added before figuring these numbers, and I did not remove any weight from the car.

Edit, side note, if all weight removed and then added as ballast, the PP will change when moving towards the rear, probably because it hypothetically becomes a better weight ratio balance.

Just like in the real world Spec Miata, the rim size is mandated. NA Miata came with 14 inch rims stock. We are required to purchase 15" racing rims in real life, so I am trying to duplicate that. You are required to use the 1" in up rims.

Ok, makes sense now. One last question, from your testing, do you know if there is any other differences besides livery between the MX-5 and MX-5 Miata's? I may push out a parts guide for the other 4 if they are identical.

There are definite handling difference between the years. I will leave it to the tuners to find the one that fits them best. Without revealing which years match the differences in handling, some will begin with understeer and others with oversteer. Both can be tuned to handle pretty neutral, but there may be a bit of advantage in a few of the model years.

If this is to be a shootout, a competition, isn't it odd or wierd for people to be making how-to's and tuning guides before the entry's are all in?
I don't think that is a good idea at all, lol.
After the tuning contest, yeah, I see that, but trading theorys and ideas openly would be like team Ford coordinating with team Chevy before final tuning their entry's in a NASCAR race, lol.
Just my opinion.

Anyway, count me in as a tuner for the SCCA spec MX-5's.
I might be in as a tester as well, but im going to wait to see how many people enter first. If its too many, I wont be able to afford it, lol.

It will be interesting on how many people will enter because it looks like there is a lot of interest on all driving levels, which is great for FITT and should make things fun. Plus it's an MX-5 FITT challenge ran by the Miata Man himself, hands down, should be a blast. I agree with Demonchilde, pending the number of tuners, it could get quite expensive and/or time consuming to test them all while giving the same love and attention to each and every tune.
On a side note, I just realized that you said podium finishers, not winners, so that puts me out of the SCCA class. But like Hami, I just might have to tune one of these anyways, since I already went out and bought one. Guess it can be used for testing tunes IF that particular one is chosen as well....

I actually bought 9 or 10 of them, painted them all,at work now, not sure exact number, but did oil changes as I have been using them in the old PURE series specs. Can't use them because of oil change restrictions. I believe Hammi had a link in his thread. They are really good cars.

Maybe if you were still thinking of including a photo mode challenge side of things we could leave it open for people to choose any miata they want including the ones with liveries.

Yes. Love this idea. One photo mode competition for anyone to enter using any Miata.

And I think I will add the rule that you cannot vote for your own photo.

Nevermind, lol. We figured it out.

Sooooo, how bout them ____insert_sport_team_here____ ?¿? :-D

Edit#2- oh yeah, what are we looking at as far as dates go?

I'll hit the SCCA Improved Touring Class

W

What track(s) were you thinking again? Couldn't find it in the car spec posts.
Is there a PP limit? Or is the hp and weight the only guide line?

Actually, I already had made a tune, and when I went to look at your list, it was under the improved class list, so since I already had worked with it I just went with it.

I can make one for both I guess, not a big deal.

Welcome to FITT, the
Federation of International Tuners and Test-Drivers!

Our Mission

Hello and welcome to the next evolution of FITT, the Federation of International Tuners and Test-Drivers! We are back for Gran Turismo 6 to help the tuning community of GTPlanet and GT in general to learn and grow by sharing, collaboration, discussion and, above all, having fun. We feel that one of the best ways to do this is to get together and hold competitions for tuners and drivers alike.

Tuners can use these competitions to test and refine their skills against some of the best GT tuners from around the globe. There are no borders or barriers in a FITT Tuning Shootout.

Test drivers also compete with each other, sometimes formally and sometimes just for bragging rights, but they also provide valuable feedback to the individual tuners and to those following the competition.

Interested fans and spectators can use the tunes provided to make their own racing and driving experience more enjoyable and competitive.

Everyone has fun and everyone benefits from a well run Tuning Shootout!

Our Goals

At FITT our goals are:
  • Provide help and knowledge for all those who wish to learn to tune in GT.
  • Provide a standardized format for Tuning Shootouts that enables tuners, test drivers and observers to participate under the umbrella of a consistent, equitable and limited set of guidelines. When you see the FITT banner sanctioning a Tuning Shootout, you can be certain the event will be well organized, time efficient and, of course, fun.
  • Promote awareness of all officially sanctioned FITT events, both past and present, and be a historical reference point for anyone researching previous tuning competitions.
  • Be a resource center and provide support for past and future Event Sponsors.
  • Extend an invitation and actively encourage participation in FITT sanctioned events by all members of the GTPlanet and general GT Community, regardless of their level of tuning, driving skill or experience.
  • The FITT Council and Competition Committee (FITTCCC) will always be open to constructive feedback, and will continue to explore and test new contest formats and guidelines to make Tuning Shootouts more enjoyable and competitive for everyone.

Online Tuning Room

For FITT members and friends, ACSR421 has been kind enough to open an online tuning room to be available 24/7! It is intended to be a friendly gathering spot to share ideas, test out tunes and get advice. At this time ACS is investigating the best way to provide this room in GT6 and will share the info when it has been worked out. In the meantime, you may also join the group here on GTPlanet. Hope to see you there!

Ticket Booth

FITT Council member CyKosis has been kind enough to reprise a role he took up for GT5 and has taken up a collection for all available prize tickets. The purpose is to create a repository to be used for both prizes and for tuners having trouble finding a particular car for an event. These tickets will be available to all FITT members and event tuners at any time, trade schedule permitting.

If you are in need of something please coordinate the trade with Cy. This is being done as a kind gesture for the community and any who would abuse Cy's kindness will not be allowed to take part.

Other repository IDs may be added at a later date.

Social Media

Follow us on your favorite social sites! FITT has a home on both Facebook and Twitter. If you have an idea for an event, want to see who wins what or just want to hangout with the members of FITT outside of GTPlanet feel free to join us!

Is the "Ticket Booth" section on Post 1 about CyKosis's willingness to trade car tickets applicable to GT6? I thought we couldn't trade cars (yet?).

Good point. It does not (yet) apply and I have been too lazy to change that. Once the testing for the Miatas is done I'll have a once over on the front and make some changes.

I don't think @ACSR421 's lobby is up either?

I took a look at the thread. My suggestion would be to keep tabs on @XS and the Difficult Car Tuning thread he posts monthly. They did the Option Z last month and the Stratos for March. Some suggestions for next month would likely be welcome. 👍

Here is the link to the Stratos thread. Check with XS about how the poll for next month is going to be handled.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/difficult-car-spotlight-lancia-stratos.304279/

I'm not going to have a nomination thread for next month's car as we still have a large pool of popular candidates. I'll run the Poll thread still, which will choose next month's car. If anybody has any new nominations they're dying to get added for next month, feel free to send them to me via conversation or posting a message on my profile. I had also thought about starting a Rarely Used car series too, @Megalodon, but decided against it as I've got enough going on at the moment. If that's something you'd like to do, by all means use the Directory to see which cars rarely, if ever, get tuned and go from there.

Who's up next with a FITT tuning competition? Mine ends Sunday. What are we doing next? Taking a break for a week? Voting on the next one? Is someone ready with an idea now?

I vote that we, firstly, give you a round of applause for a well run, complex event. From my view it went very smoothly.

On next event, we had talked about a budget challenge at some point. That's a possibility. And there were some left overs from GT5 we didn't get to either:
Event Concepts Needing A Sponsor/Host
Tuner Cars only

Race Modded only

RM vs. TC

LMP

Team Tuning (1 driver, 1 tuner)

Best of the Best

Anything look appealing?

I was going to suggest a budget tune, get out of my head @DigitalBaka ...with the need to stretch every dollar in GT6, it makes sense...but I'd want to be a part of it. I'll be away from the game for a month though:guilty:

[Quote = "Motor City Hami, après: 9448249, membre: 83292"] Qui est à côté avec un concours de tuning FITT? Mine se termine dimanche. Que faisons-nous maintenant? Prenant une pause d'une semaine? Le vote sur le prochain? Est quelqu'un prêt avec une idée maintenant? [/ Quote]

yes, I agree with DigitalBaka you very well manages the event and it certainly requires a lot of time, then Congratulations
and if you want a week off for me no problem !!!
I do not mind, but I am in any event to be proposed 👍

First) excellent event Hami. Probably the best event so far, IMHO.

Second) how about a budget event, but with a twist. Instead of a competition how about each tuner be given a set of races from the career mode. At the end of the event we would have a list of cars that would take us through the career with the least $$$ possible.
(Plugs ears and waits for the anti-aircraft fire to shoot the idea out of the sky. Ta-chunk, ta-chunk, ta-chunk ... kaboom! Rrrrrrrrr, splash!)

Interesting idea and colorful imagery. But I wonder if we can't take that out of the context of an event and just create a whole other topic like the car of the month.

FITT Career Tune List - How to win everything without breaking the bank

Open only to tunes for prize cars or the cheapest options where you have to buy a specialized car (Super GT, etc.).

I was going to suggest a budget tune, get out of my head @DigitalBaka:guilty:
But it's so roomy in here! :D
