It has been a bit tough. So much torque that either my wheels spin like crazy or they get good grip but send me spinning:lol:. I have no idea what to do with the transmission but I think that setting it right is key to getting a good tune. I'm working on it though. Never done a FR rally car, only 4WD and FF, so it's been fun. Thanks for the Corvette link, I'll have to check that out and see if the tune holds up in GT6 or if it set me in the right direction. That reminds me too that you can put dirt tires on one of the race mod Corvette LM cars. Forgot which year, it was the less powerful of the 2 I remember. Now that would an truly absurd rally tune!:D
Really long first and second gears will help keep the car under control.
Example would be to set a mid point final gear and a mid point top speed and set first and second to the longest values, last two gears to shortest, and balance the middle gears as best you can

Does this count as double post almost 24 hours later?

@backnfourth Edit from some experimenting I did with my GT24 a shorter first gear and shorter 3rd gear help stack 2nd to a really long gear that reduces tire spin allot. You just need the power/torque to make it work, don't want to drop 2nd so far outta the power band area that it hurts the speed

I do not. Are there specs we are working toward or testing? I can try to help out if you can rip me away from Tales of Xillia. :D

My only small request is that there be a class with just one car, so its just tune vs. tune on the same car.
I know some competitors love the testing/selection process but I would like to avoid this part, if possible.
If it is to be multiple cars only, then ok. Just thought I would ask.

I like this. Do you truly want STi vs Evo or are you willing to let car selection fall on either side? Do you think it will tilt one way or the other?
Km open to either was sorta looking at how the community was wanting. I think if left open it would be lop sided to one of cars in each class but we should get a good selection of models/makes. This is a polar issue for some people, I'm a STi person I tuned three for the Subaru seasonal on matterhorn and I only bothered with half a tune for the evo challenge.

I've been looking at giving you the pick of sti or evo rally car for the pro rally cross class. It's not set in stone yet.

This is developing quite nicely :)

Yes lol. got 30 new ones. didn't know some of the cars only came in one color and got a car previously in that same color :(
i Hate it when that happens! BTW i have no preference of evo or sti..... they`ll both be easier than the mustang mach 1 i`m currently tuning at toscana! Thought i`d get some dirt practice in!:)

Mustang on the dirt hey. Did I hear someone say wheelspin?

Its not a bad as it sounds! Well maybe it is.....:D Toscana is quite swoopy not twisty it would work well if someone wanted to pair a fast dirt track with a tight road track like.... cote d`azur for maybe a on road off road shootout?💡
Sounds like a recreation of that Tour of Italy event from GT5. :D They need more of those types of events.

That is so freaky. I've been sorting through the american muscle cars to tune one for dirt and I literally just got done trying out the mach 1 at toscana and decided it is the car im going to try and get a rally tune for. Out of curiosity, have you settled on a pp and specs? I think I'm going to try to keep the pp low...around 470-480. It really doesn't need much more power than it already has I feel.

Yes yes yes!👍 What GT6 needs is awesome/absurd street car rally tunes. Were you thinking classics/modern.... all of the above?
Oh! I've just been inspired.💡
I'm off to tune some American muscle at Eiger Trail :D

I think i had the same idea as you! If the next shootout involves some dirt track action then i wanna get some practice in on something more difficult than a evo/sti!
Running stock power, 471pp just tuning suspension, diff and brakes.
EDIT 471pp was with weight reduction. Gone back to stock weight at 453pp and have gained a lot of traction.

With this challenge it would be a two car class, free choice or lotto assign is still in debate so it may be as a tuner you only have one car to chose from or you may get the option to pick one or the other.

I learned that very quickly when I tried some settings I had success with for the Evo on snow seasonal with an FR. It didn't work out well. I have however been having fun with FRs with the flat floor equipped for rally.👍
Was just giving you and anyone else fair warning that getting lots of practice with a FR on dirt may not be the best preparation for a AWD challenge. (unless a tuner sets up a 10/90 split on a car)

Just give everyone a progress update I've got two groups sorted for cars and mostly settled on tracks. working out third group now. I am still determining the most competitive PP/HP/Weight for each group. Weekends are my family time so I get little play time to test these things so catching up now.
