and i think @CSLACR may have an idea or three as well. I'll wait to hear back from the big guns in FITT on this.
I appreciate the mention, it seems my alerts failed me.

I'm just planning on doing the small side gig I mentioned last, I don't recall what page. It'll be easy for people to enter and won't keep anyone that wishes to enter from entering other shootouts. 👍

Seeing as how I haven't had the GT6 time I wanted, and haven't done much tuning, I've been contemplating making a tuner challenge myself. (except for me it wouldn't be a tuning challenge, but a testing challenge)
It would be longer-term, (depending on entries and how long re-submissions take, I'd guesstimate 2-3 months) with a few new ideas maybe.
Also, only myself testing means it won't really interfere with any other FITT events.

1. Identical cars (or a group of hand-selected cars spec'd to compete equally)
2. Identical specs (except lsd, gears, and suspension) ((meaning no tuner build, just the tune)
3. 3 "rounds" for each car/tuner - Each tuner submits a tune, (lsd, gears, and suspension only), (Full car specs/build would be predetermined.),
4. Only one tester (in this case, me), The tester drives each car, gives feedback to the tuner, they tweak it, and resubmit it. Tester drives it a second time, give feedback, they tweak it again and make a final submission.

Currently very interested in using some American muscle at Willow Springs. (of course big and little, y'all know how I roll)

Any thoughts? Good idea, bad idea?
I'm thinking of the Renault Megane Trophy Race Car, at Autumn Ring.
Excellent combo, car is great, but it isn't tuned that well for AR in my opinion, I'm sure someone can make this car better here.
My other idea for a car/track was a Mustang Boss around Willow Springs Small.(idk the name atm, brain fart) This is a really fun combo to me, I don't recall the spec but it was lightly modded with a flat floor and S tires, and just so great.
My other idea was the SLS GT3, GTR GT3, (either car could be used) at Brands Hatch. If they're even enough, they could go head to head, if not, just whichever gains the most time over stock.

Coin has 3 sides, I should figure it out by the weekend. :) (Megane.....)

Edit: I guess I should mention I completely forgot the double-Willow idea. I like it again though, so might do that too idk.
Any thoughts?

- Renault Megane Trophy Race Car or base model. also could choose two circuits this Autumn Ring.e tokyo reverse. would be a huge challenge for tuners and testers, because it will require good balance of the car, not easy to handle this Renault megan.

Miscellaneous Info
Because of some of the challenges we faced during events with regard to sharing of cars we have come up with a new method which we hope will make things easier for everyone. While we still need to work out the details of sharing limits and such, FITT has created 5 accounts to share cars from.

The hope is that this will make things easier by dropping the number of FRs that need to be sent out per event from 15+ each time to 5 one time. The accounts will be reused each event so anyone who has participated before can be immediately ready for the next. New participants need only friend the 5 accounts once instead of picking up requests for each tuner and/or tester.

FITT admins will take care of accepting FRs and will direct each tuner where to send their car for each individual event. The cars will then be shared for the duration of the event and taken down at the conclusion to prep for the next event.

Please friend the following accounts on PSN:
  • GTP_FITT_1
  • GTP_FITT_2
  • GTP_FITT_3
  • GTP_FITT_4
  • GTP_FITT_5
If everything goes to plan this should make things much easier on everyone. We may tweak the process or add more accounts as needed.

NOTE: As there is no way to share cars in GT6 (yet) we are not yet using these accounts. When community sharing options become available we will begin to work out usage of these accounts.

-----

We are also looking at getting together with the major tuners and garages to create a standard template of sorts for tunes. Not format necessarily but rather info that should be included such as parts list and settings but also things like game version.

As we saw in GT5, the physics varied depending on your game version and it became hard to tell which tunes worked in the new physics and which did not. Adding game version to your tune list would benefit those searching for tunes to use later down the line.

I'd like to join FITT, but I am waiting for a response from the above written accounts since at least two weeks....

It is really not that formal to join. There will be a new tuning event posted within the next week or so. That will be your first opportunity to participate. You can enter tunes into the competition or test drive or both.

Welcome to the club.

Thanks. Sorry to disturb you..

Always nice to see new people:)... even though I am still quite new as well. Honestly my interest with GT6 has been fading recently and the FITT shootouts have been what I have enjoyed most with the game thus far and also what I'm most looking forward to.
Welcome @Gino Caberlin :). After playing GT6 every day since release i`ve been suffering with some burnout too. But then......This afternoon... Dodge Viper+Nurb Nord= Nirvana and everythings ok with the world.👍

I’m making the following proposal for a new challenge for FITT.
A two track one tune tune challenge.
One track would be dry tarmac
One track would be either dirt or wet tarmac 75% surface water.

3 classes for tuning.

“Spec” class of FR drive trains in the at 500PPish a couple cars from each region with a minimum of allowed tuning, suspension LSD and power parts with in restrictions.
Tracks; Both Dry

Lightweight MR showdown
A mid power lightweight MR showdown, who can settle down these wild cars on the wet track?
Tracks; One wet one dry
Tuning allowed to maximum pp of 500, limited custom GT Auto parts.

@krenkme made a good point that these would make great events and should not be all rolled into one.

STi vs Evo
Battle Royal of the STi vs the Evo on Tarmac and on Dirt. Any STREET 1990’s STi or Evo is available to use that is a sedan.
"spec" class would have limited tuning options for parts allowed Both tracks would be dry just one speed focused one agility focused.
Wet/Dry racing both on tarmac one wet one dry
Tarmac/Dirt

Tuning options; one of the following limits, up to 500PPish, Min weight/Max HP, or Min wight and Max speed, EG there is a speed limit on the track (it would be reasonable 250km/h / 155 mph or so)

Allowed changes for the tracks would be tires and Final Gear on the transmission. The tracks will not only be different in surface but in type as well, One will be more speed based one will be more technical/short twisty.
I would say exact tunes. A good transmission should work for anything short of a really high-speed track.

I think using FR's vs FF's could probably make it a bit more interesting. Maybe check a few cars out, like the FRS, S2000, Integra R, Megane Trophy, etc? Just an idea, 4WD and rally is just so...common.

FR vs FF would be an interesting shootout. The 4wd challenge is 90% finished at this point. Just need to finalize the cars in one group.

Maybe you guys can help me with a psychological issue that I am having? Why is it that when I am playing GT6 that if my car steps out even the slightest and gets sideways it makes me angry; like I didn't tune well enough or didn't drive well enough? But, why is it that when I drive to work, I cannot think of anything more fun to do than to slide the rear of the car around every corner? :)

Wish I could help on that one, but I have the same "problem"
Maybe it's our desire to show off IRL and go fast in game?

Maybe your mind knows that sliding isn't as fast on a timed run but you don't have the time constraint on the road, so having the added fun is ok then.

I have the opposite problem, I like it when my cars in GT6 slide about but I wish my car would grip more on the way to work, its a big Citroen FF estate (wagon) and when its wet the car slides around like a pig on roller skates. It would be fun if it was intentional but its a bit troubling when you're just trying to go round a roundabout

Intentions. When racing or in a time trial every 1/10 second is a large amount of time. Every second feels like an hour.

When on the road IRL, as Captain Slow has pointed out, the only way to have fun is at the limit of the vehicles traction. This is why lower grip tyres are more fun, but more dangerous.

This is why I like Comfort Soft tyres in the game with a 500pp car but I want racing softs in real life with my 220pp car.

Interestingly enough, I had this same conversation with my therapist a while back....you would not like her explanation, I know I didn't. Wasn't the most smartest topic to bring up with her considering I was invited back for 5 free visits.:lol: I'm happy to say though, the problem has been solved. :sly:

I ride a motorbike to work....i dont like it when it slides!:nervous:

Once I'm at the apex, I like steering with my pedals :D

Because racecar. That is all.

I realize I'm striking the first plateau, of many, but I absolutely hate it. And, the frustration of not getting that pretty paint chip - when it gets left on the table - is just the worst!

Toward the other... fear of losing a favored toy /write that "expensive" ~ / and cost of insurance, keeps my fore-brain in control over those more stem centred impulses.

Good luck with that. ;-)

Hello all,

from what I've read on the OP, it seems like this thread is purely for tuning and testing events? I'm hoping you could test my car and see what I'm doing wrong? Please forgive me if I've understood wrong.

I have been trying to tune my SLS AMG GT3 for the past month or so and can't seem to get rid of its understeer. I feel like I have to try extreme settings to get much of a difference and even when I do that, it's still not perfect and even has other problems (unstable braking, unpredictable, etc.)! I'd love it if one of you could try it out and tell me if it's my tuning that's the problem or the car - I have no problem tuning road cars, but I can't tune a race car to save my life. All help is appreciated, thank you!

Cheers, Nilo.

If you could post your settings (or a link) then I'm sure someone will have an idea to help you. The idea of the thread is not specifically about requesting testers but it doesn't hurt to ask politely as you have done. There are plenty of helpful and knowledgeable people here who are more than willing to lend a hand to someone in need.

Without looking at it I'd suggest removing any camber if present, the rest of the problems sound like they could be diff related but I would need to see the setup. Please include tyre choice when posting as it helps us get an idea of where the settings should roughly be.

Hi Nilo,

I use a setup from the Tune Directory posted by Highlandor for this car & I highly recommend it. It's the best tune for this car IMO that I've found. Will easily win the GT3 Championship & the Nurburgring 24 minutes.

Thanks for the help, DolHaus! I've got quite a bit of camber (as guessed), simply because I was trying to negate that understeer I mentioned - should I be removing it or just toning it down? Here's my setup:

Aero: 350/730

Ballast:

Weight Distribution - 50/50
Ballast - 0kg
Ballast Position - 0

Turbo: High RPM

Transmission:

1st - 3.434
2nd - 2.286
3rd - 1.657
4th - 1.246
5th - 0.983
6th - 0.756
Final - 3.670
Max Speed - 205mph

LSD:

Torque - 0/10
Accel - 0/25
Decel - 0/25

Suspension:

Ride Height - 52/52
Springs - 20.52/20.75
Compression - 5/4
Extension - 7/7
Anti-Roll - 4/4

Camber - 3.0/1.7
Toe - -0.30/0.23

Brakes:

Brake Balance - 6/7

Tyres:

Primarily RS, but I'd like to enter it in RH championships too.

Final Specs:

941bhp
1,350kg
685PP

Extra Info:

As I've mentioned, this car understeers loads. I've found that that's the case with most GT3 cars, but I can't seem to fix it with tuning! The engine and transmission work very well (I have been testing this car on the nurburgring and it reaches 215mph on the straight with lap times of 6:50, although I'm not the fastest driver). I have little experience with LSD tuning and can't notice any difference when adjusting shocks. It's extremely stable though, provided you don't abuse the 941bhp mid-corner.

@Pete05 I'll definitely try that tune, I feel like this car has a lot of potential. Thanks for the help!

@Bodyguard the first thing I would do is 0.0 both caber settings and then lower rear down force closer to the front setting. Then see how much better if at all.

Edit: With that much power, max front downforce then get the rear closer to front? I did not like this car at all and have not spent much time with.
