Maxed out Veyrons, 100% standing water, sports tyres? We could call it "All aboard the good ship Understeer"
More like "Welcome aboard the good ship epic crash" 100% water on a 1000 bph 2 ton car....I think I would go with CS tires unless it was SS tires... I don't even think RW could handle that car

Had a run at all of the sections and they're just too fast and wide for the car, rarely dropped below 4th gear. Might have an idea using it though, a second higher PP group, maybe a one car event or something as I don't have time for balancing
Maybe Shelby Cobras on that course? Never ran it but irs a thought.

Hey FITT. I just did short reviews of Forza 6 and Project Cars. All of you need to get Project Cars once you have moved to PS4. It is the very best driving game that I have ever driven. Here is my review.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/advice-to-pd-from-a-gt-fanboy.338270/

I will be immersed in Forza 6 and Project Cars for a bit. I will likely fire up the PS3 over the Christmas holiday as I have a couple of weeks off work then. If you have a FITT event in that window, I'll see if I can remember how to drive in GT6 and join in.

If there is enough interest, I may see what kind of event I can dream up for the next one.
I've got one mostly figured out. Just need two cars that can fit the same 100PP range and be close.
Was thinking a RX-7 Bathurst vs a merc at Deep Forest Reverse. Using the middle of the PP range for the cars.
Sports tires SH-SS (gotta have tire range for tuning)
440-550 PP range (example range)

I was thinking the December event, not the next one up. If you were looking at December also.....go for it! 👍

What kind of Benz? The RX-7 Bathurst is dreamy. Killer car right off the showroom floor. It's at 457 on SH and can win the recent Deep Forest 550 Seasonal.
I'm open to suggestions. Merc's are not my normal line up, same with Mazdas. If it's 457 right off the floor is set the pp rand to 465-565/max if it Capps lower but most cars can do about 125PP.
Last time I took a AMG SLS out I felt like I was driving and tuning a bucket of pudding.

As much as I like anything Bathurst, I'd prefer the premium RX-7. Standard cars are hard to love for me.
Agreed the premiums are pretty but sometimes the standard cars are the ones with the love. Anyways the Bathurst is a semi premium it's pretty out but black inside.

I do think it's gonna be tough to beat an RX-7 at it's own game. Honest. After becoming very familiar with all the FD models at the Seasonal, they are an over achieving car.

I see a Benz CL 600 '00 is 456 PP.

Maybe even a better match up would be the 466 RX-7 Spirit and either the Benz 466 CLK AMG '00 or even maybe better, the RUF 3400S '00 at 470!

I also see some NSXs are right in the same range also.

I'd exclude the RUF simply because I know @shaunm80 has a FITT event ready to go that has the entire RUF lineup included.

Hmm I'll look at the spirit and try it out vs the CSL's. And what @Pete05 saud about the RUF it would be fun but don't need to steal any of @shaunm80 cars

An RX-7 sounds fun for sure. Also, As Pete and Otaliema say, try and avoid RUF cars if you can, I have a plan for that car myself for a full RUF event. :)

@DolHaus hows the planning for your event coming along? I haven't had a chance to test a pair of cars yet for balance. But shouldn't take too long.
It will most likely be a one car event, just needs writing up apart from that

English body, big block Ford power, EVIL personality, twisty track......sounds entertaining! 👍
Don't get me wrong, I love the real thing but the one in game is a mess, can't handle its power and spins like a top given the slightest encouragement

I just took the 466 Benz CLK and 466 RX-7 Spirit out. What took me 7 laps to do in the Benz was easily beaten by the RX-7 in 1 lap, by 2.2 seconds.
Thats what I found when I grabbed a R230 and a Type R '92 I beat the R230 time that ook me 7 laps to get on the first lap with the Type R. I'm working on something that I think will be interesting.

Ok I got some cars picked out and tracks they work great together, Fun interesting and will certainly make tuners scratch their heads 👍 let me get it typed up and I'll post it in a few. Need to work out the exact rules for the variances.

The R33 is another quick car from that era, should be able to keep up with the RX7
You are correct the R33 is fast but it's a under steering dog compared to the RX-7 and even with a 7 PP advantage was 1/2 second slower on the same tires and track. I did find that the 300ZX 2 seater was a great match to the RX-7 tho so they will go head to head.

Adaptability Challenge

Three car two group challenge, as many of you know I like toss twists into my challenges. Makes tuners think outside the box so to speak.
This twist is a real world use twist. As we all know as you use cars through the game, both on and offline you will end up changing tires, and the PP value for the car, with mixed results most of the time. That’s what this challenge is about, build a car that will work a 100 PP range (or below min to max for some cars), and on a type of tire. Sports or Racing in the case of this challenge.

(and just for you @Pete05 they are all premiums ;))

Group one
Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD) ‘91 vs Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX TwinTurbo 2seater (Z32) ‘89
PP Range 450 to 550
Tires Sports Hard to Sports Soft.
Track SSR-5 (yes it’s a reuse but it fits the car so well)
Wing allowed.
Rims no size change
No chassis reinforcement.
No oil change
No NOS

Group two (one make)
RX-7 Touring car
PP range 550-616 (reduced from stock to max)
Tires Racing Hard-Racing Soft
Deep Forest Reverse
No GT Auto service allowed. *Car wash excepted, gotta have a clean race car right?*

How this would work
I will give each tester a Tire Type and PP to test the cars at. How they set the car up for power and weight to reach the PP is up to them. So you tail happy drivers can slap 200 kg at +50 and get a tail happy car every time 👍 You can change the power, ballast and weight parts for each car if you felt inclined to do so.

Before anyone asks or objects, any tune will do it’s very best for a driver that is happy with the weight distro, and power delivery of the car, a well made tune can handle the changes with few if any problems.

What the tuners must do. Tune the Suspension, Transmission, LSD and on the touring car the aero settings. The testers are not allowed to change any of these except for the final drive to fit the car’s PP. Other wise no tune settings can be changed.

The Tire and PP values will be sent to the testers via PM so only myself and the tester know until they post testing results how the car was being tested.

PP and tires will be randomly assigned so You may get lucky and get 450PP on SS or you might get 550 on SH, But you’re more likely to get some place in between. I will be using google sheets to be tottaly random on the assignment of the PP and Tires, so we will see strange PP numbers like 512 for testing.

Edit; After independent testing the Fairlady was shown to be not be viable.
