One thing I think might be nice to possibly do is have a list of possible next challenges, like @Otaliema @DolHaus @shaunm80 and I all have ideas that either need some cleanup or are pretty much ready when the time comes. I can use my second post in my Records thread if we all like the concept.
That might be a good thing to do. So we can keep tabs on who is ready to fly easier and get a order going for when challenges get the green flag.

I am putting together an event also. It would fit well behind Shaunm, however I can be flexable.
This is a brilliant idea & you can add me to the list of those having an event ready to go. I've also got a head full of ideas that just need a little fine tuning.
Suddenly I can see queue forming :) 👍

My event has now been checked over and all is good to go. With the christmas and new year hangovers, I have set out a tuning and testing schedule that will begin on the 8/1/16 and the tuning dates will be staggered to allow for the multi classes involved. I will be posting this event around the 7th of January with the person co-hosting this event with me.

I am definitely looking forward to hosting this event and I hope that you are all able to join in the fun next year.

S13 Dia Select on Rotenboden No engine mods, but leave everything else open. Meaning the weight of any time picked up is solely on the tuning, no part swapping to mask defects.

S13 (fun car, nose heavy and the rear tyres are made of soap )
Rotenboden (decent enough track)
No power parts/weight reduction (no problems there although consider a fixed parts list if it feels a bit gutless stock)
Custom everything else allowed (bodykits/wings/chassis reinforcement/flat floor?)
Tires?

My only comments would be that hills and nose heavy, low grip cars do not mix well and that power part selection doesn't make that much of a difference to overall performance (as long as the cars are making comparable peak power)

Should this be added to the ideas in waiting list?
Or, wait for something more concrete?
Probably better waiting for something more concrete, standard 1 car 1 track challenges couldn't be easier to set up really, no testing or balancing needed.

I think if I kept Rotenboden and used the S15 instead(can't remember the premium model) allowing for level one mods, I.E. Turbo stage 1, would keep power relatively low and make for more dependence on the tune it's self rather than the parts selection.

That has alway been the flaw with the PP system is it seems to account HP, Weight and DownForce but not rev range and Tq rating. Atleast, in my opinion formed from my observations.

2002 model Nissan Silvia Spec R is what you're referring to 👍

Regarding the flawed PP system, you & I are not alone here in discovering that, even having the same PP value can have remarkably different results in performance

It really doesn't make that much of a difference on the track, an extra 1-500 rpm at the top of the rev range is nothing on overall performance. The big time gains come from tuning the suspension, diff and trans, I agree that the PP system is flawed but power parts are one of the few things that do mostly work, you either build towards peak HP (NA tuning) or peak Torque (turbo tuning). There isn't any black art to it, just find the biggest numbers and then directly compare them

Greetings all,
I'd just like to throw some ideas out there for future FITT events and gauge the interest level.

  • NASCAR at Indianapolis Road Course or Big Willow
  • GT3 cars at Bathurst
  • GT500 at Fuji GP
I've got more ideas that need a little more refining but the ones listed above are ready to go should the interest level be high enough.
Feedback sought & welcome.

Pete
