Maybe we have the same car  mine feel the same I can increase or decrease they work but the car has no life when braking.
You only know the brakes are working because the speedo tells you so

Is it just one car though? Only time will tell.
I haven't driven BMWs in a long time but I remember there was always something I didn't like about them, maybe they all just have numb brakes :boggled:

Well, after a few days of pondering if my tune is ready, or needs a few adjustments, I decided that I would stop tinkering with the settings and submit it for checking. If anyone else feels like their tune is as good as it can be, and wants to submit, you can do this anytime and we will check it over to make sure it meets the regulations set.

Also, as mentioned in the FITT Old vs New thread yesterday, if anyone else wants to tune for this event, you must let us know by tomorrow at the latest. We will not be able to allow any more entrants after that point due to the re-randomisation of the tuner numbers on Monday.

On the flip side, we will happily take more testers at any time should you find that you are really enjoying these M Power cars and want to see what everyone else has created. :)

Good luck with your tuning, and both myself and Bowtie look forward to seeing what you have created.

What kind of times are other people running? I'm getting mid/low 10s and the car doesn't feel like its got a lot more to offer, could maybe squeak a high 9 with a good clean lap

It could be the track, sveral places have big gains or big loses.

I know I'm not quick at this circuit and I'm definitely losing bits of time in places but I still don't think it adds up to 3 seconds

While watching replays, is anyone seeing/suspecting excess body flex?
Not really, the cars are all fairly new so I wouldn't expect chassis twist like you get with the 50s/60s era cars

If it helps, maybe not but, I had another car ready to post when Shaun told me about this challenge. Never ran at this track but just ran 3 laps and 2 were Low 1:09s. It could be the track, or the cars. I'm sure you'll figure it out since tuning wise you are typically close with me. With the testers however, you are mostly faster.:grumpy:

I've still got a few options to explore so I haven't thrown the towel in yet, if I can't close the gap then I'll have to assume I've got the runt of the litter and just go for best in breed instead

Describe what you are seeing
Hard to explain with out using model examples, and I dont want to do that at this time. Not finding ant consistancy lap to lap, or set to set. Different tracks, same results. Settings at both ends of the spectrum, same. Different tires same setting, same non-consisrancy. When this is over, I'll bet I have LOTS of questions!

I had another BMW in my garage that fit the competition so I ran a few laps with it (With the same exact tune on my current car). Broadly similar times, albeit a little slower. This car felt a lot tamer and much easier to consistently bang out laps - I didn't have to work as hard per lap, but it was slower overall. Of course I can't name it for obvious reasons...Or give out any other details such as where it was faster/slower as compared to mine.

Mine`s running easy 2:08s. Getting brakes right has found me a lot of time and consistency. Out of curiosity I`ve also tuned the car I expect to win this challenge, and with just a zero camber/toe and a tranny trick I was very nearly in the 2:06s in 5 laps!
I think were all going for best in class! 👍
