OK few quick ones:
I only got this like 2 days ago, it says that the updated swiss, german etc stuff is available to download but i daren't as it is working good already.
I read some horror stories about crazy download hoops like needing xbox app etc.
So should i update?
Why did it not auto update?
if i am not flying those areas yet should i even bother to update?
Does it update other things in the sim.
should i dowload xbox app anyway regardless?

Is this any different than what you're seeing?
I also went to other parts of Johannesburg and didn't encounter anything unusual.
Or are we discussing something else?
I mean, I also have flat, 2D buildings in my area (important landmarks, like the castle and the football stadium). But I don't attribute that to a rendering failing or something wrong with game, but rather simple lack of information / detail.
I have one of those laying around, but never bothered to connect it.
What's the biggest difference? What do you use to control what?

For some odd reason it’s an issue that comes and goes in the same places. Sometimes buildings render fine, sometime partially with low LOD, and sometimes not at all. I suspect it could be a memory related bug, but I cannot say why it happens sporadically.
Another possibility may be it’s related to internet connection stability, or lack thereof. This game appears to be resource intensive on internet bandwidth at all times, and especially wireless bandwidth can fluctuate below what the game servers require in order to stream world data at any given time. So if the connection is unstable like this, the game may occasionally prioritize rendering of certain areas less than others. Just a guess.
I’m cautiously optimistic it’s something Asobo might be able to optimize over time. The sim was announced as a project to span 10 years.

Turning AP on, switching between Nav and Heading.
Shortcuts for FLC or VS and then to increase / decrease
Keys to cycle through instrument views
Landing gear
Bringing up the ATC and shortcuts to request ground services etc
Some others I know I'm using but can't remember now haha
Mouse
Looking around the cockpit
Zooming in and using the switches I don't have assigned shortcuts for..

Yeah been i a few tracks and up close it is a post appocolyptic feeling to them....Just had a look at oulton park race track, the layout is there shame its all grass

I dont know how to fix your install, have you got any third party installs?, i keep reading people say they may cause issues.
But frankly astounding to be flying to race tracks.
Thruxton is stunning though. I mean it is an airport as well as a track so that kinda helps.
I have been toying ith the idea of making Assetto Corsa track previews with MSFS2020...

Just a quick one, not sure if its been covered before, but my CPU is far better than my GPU at present.
I found that my CPU temps were climbing to 70 in some cases mainly during loading.
So i tried dropping the 'maximum processor speed' in the power plan settings from 100% to 99% and now temps go no higher than 55 under load in flight sim and no change in performance from before.
Works for me.

I genuinely have no idea what's going on now with my FS2020... Ignoring the 2D non - rendering buildings and random 'you collided with something' at 2000 feet above ground level... Three times in a row my plane (172) stalled and plummeted from the skies from stable level AP flight.
3rd time, I immediately turned AP off, going from 2350rpm to full throttle even before the nose started dropping, didn't help. Engine did pick up revs but my speed just kept dropping until I went into a dive.
I thought maybe my mouse / keyboard were making false inputs or something so disconnected them. Nope, 4th flight, after 15min of stable flight, "Don't sink don't sink" and down I go.
Very calm daytime conditions. Hardly any wind.
Internet connection is fine.
Not one to bash my head, I'll just frustratingly pack the game away, will try it some other time. Maybe after other updates or hotfixes.

If I were you I’d get in touch with Microsoft and ask for a refund..you can obviously prove you’ve had no hours at all playing it.Unfortunately i didn't even launched the game once, it is just crashing to desktop since first try. So i didn't install any of the third party mods/addons.I really wanted to try this sim and i literally tried everything and nothing works...

Ship hunting is my new favourite pastime, the fact this guy does this mod for free is astonishing and the quality of the models is something else, fair do’s to him. It adds so much more evidence to the fact we’re flying above a living breathing planet and makes the flights so much more immersive.
Apparently there are over 800 different types of craft so only another 790 or so to find 🙈

Should be Millbrook Proving Grounds where Fifth Gear tested and filmed their duells + tests and Bonds Casino Royale with the AM DBS flip was filmed. Could also find this in many autocar, petrolicious (especially few weeks ago the Porsche GT1, McLaren F1, Mercedes CLK GTR videos), Top Gear, Grand Tour, etc. videos.

I think one of my favourite things to do in the game is to fly 2000-3000 feet above roads I’ve driven in real life. Last week I drove to Germany using roads I usually don’t take, and flying those same trips in FS just has a certain allure to it. Amazing feeling when you end up in the same place in the game, recognizing random “landmarks” along the way.
