I remember being at the top of the tower and looking DOWN on the planes coming in to land at the airport. It's kinda weird being the wrong way round...
You get an awesome view of The Strip though.

And you can see the light from the Luxor pyramid in space supposedly. Jeff Bezos could probably confirm that...

Or you can just boot up your PC and use Flight Simulator instead 👍

Anybody used a quest 2 with this, i am, and its flipping ubelievable , really is:crazy:....question i wanted to ask is when using the headset i still get a picture to my tv, but its split into 2 images, like the 2 eyepieces , just wondered is there a way to have a single image, be nicer to watch when someone has the headset on.

I use the Quest 2 probably 90% of my flying time and it’s mind blowing..I’ve been gaming for nearly 40yrs and it’s the most amazing experience I’ve ever had, for those who haven’t tried it it’s kinda hard to explain just how immersive it is.
And regards to the screen query I’ve not used it myself but the Oculus mirror tool lets you see on your monitor exactly what you’re seeing in your headset 👍

So I tried the game again and OR Tambo had a massive... 'dent/ditch' in the runway when taking off and my plane cartwheeled onto it's back before I'd even lifted off. Was so gobsmacked I didn't even record it.

I don't know what has happened... Maybe it's my Xbox??? I mean, it cannot be internet speeds causing a ditch to form on a runway at take off???

I was frustrated by people constantly bitching about glitches etc and... I'm now becoming that person and that is sad hahaha
Was fun while it lasted. Wish I knew what to do because I love this sim when it works.

Great images!
I recognise the carpet in Willis Tower.
Doesnt seem to have changed since 2012 when I was there... 🤔 Top tip, take a spare pair of pants for when you walk out on "The Ledge" 😂

Sim update 6 is coming today. Most notably the PC version gets the option to adjust ground texture details to a maximum value of 400 instead of 200.

I hope the Xbox versions will get some of this graphical optimization too, because so far it has been a little too blurry for my liking.

Coming November 18! We are thrilled to announce the Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition as a "thank you" to our fans who have made the sim such a phenomenon. The Game of the Year Edition is enhanced with 5 brand new aircraft and 8 additional handcrafted airports along with new missions, tutorials, features, photogrammetry cities, and includes all of the content updates released since launch in 2020.

This update is FREE to all existing Microsoft Flight Simulator players. The sky is calling!

Also,

The game is 20% off on Steam until the 24th and it's been on my wishlist since it launched so I went with the standard version since I've never played a flight sim before. I hope I like it since it will be beyond Steam's refund window by the time it gets done downloading all the updates.

For a trial Gamepass is still the cheapest way. After that, but only 4 days left, Microsoft store iceland.

Finally downloaded the game over the weekend and have been slowly going through the training. I've done all except for the Airliner training for now, figured I can save that for when I actually feel like flying one. Thoroughly enjoying it, and it's a good change of pace from my usuals.

Any tips for newbies would be appreciated :)

I completely forgot that was an option.

I played it for a little tonight and I can already tell I will be spending lots of time with this game so I don't regret my decision. This weekend I plan on working my way through the training stuff.

I hadn't loaded this up for a while, but as I'm self isolating with Covid, I have enough time on my hands. Flew out from the mainland alongside the Venetian Lagoon, and then over the city itself, before flying out to the Lido, up towards the northern reaches and back down towards Venice via Burano.

I found the apartment we stayed in back in October 2019, just off the Campo San Barnaba, which is shown here.

I don't think it can be overstated just how special a resource this sim is. The comfort of finding places you know is unbeatable.
