Yep does with me since update 6, i find if i go into the flight map it calms down again, but i run on nvidia optimal not prefer max performance.
Funnily enough was playing Plague of Innocense, which is ASOBOS other game, and same thing happens.

Game has now become unplayable on series x. Massive freezing and stuttering whilst landing, crashes to dashboard every 15-20 mins, this game needs some serious work
Hmm. I was contemplating getting the Xbox series x mainly to get this game. So having second thoughts right now.

I'm not questioning other user's experiences, but I can tell you that I have 60+ hours in this game and had, maybe, two crashes. None of which, incidentally, was after the latest update.
I'm on a Xbox Series X.

I believe I have all those on, yes. I will change the time of the day, in case I want to fly around my timezone (I usually play at night and prefer to fly in daylight). More often than not, I'll finish a flight with a landing, where possible.

Just played for about two hours earlier. In Australia, over Chicago and the Swiss Alps.
Not sure what more to add.

Do you have a specific scenario where the crashes occur?

Nope, it just crashes every 15 mins or so , tried disabling live traffic etc, game jumps and stutters so bad cant do a landing. Will now uninstall and re install as a last hope

Charming little plane popped up on flightsim.to
A joy to fly.

I tried this and now it fails to download some of the world updates... It keeps getting to a point (I think it's the Germany one) and then starts downloading again. Tried many times.

Hope you don't get that.

Man I’m so sorry you guys are having a merde time with it on your X-box’s…I was momentarily thinking about an Xbox just for this when it was announced last year but given my PlayStation roots I just couldn’t do it, so I ended up buying a gaming PC and it’s the best decision I ever made…really hope they sort it out for you as it’s pretty perfect on my PC and has been for a long time now

As frustrated as I am, I try again every week just to see if it's better haha, I love the game when it works.

In fairness there must be thousands of x boxers who aren't having these issues. Doesn't make it any better for those concerned, but clearly its not enough to suggest that MSFS on xbox is as broken as these comments seem.
There is more threads on the official forum about PC issues than xbox, but granted i think a lot of that is from modding.

830 hours in the sim so far and I’ve just had a revelation 🙈 my system is not top end but it’s beefy enough to run it very well. So I just capped the frame rate limit to 30fps and now I’ve set my graphics through the roof and it’s smooth and stable as it’s ever been but now looking unbelievably good, can’t believe I’ve been flying all this time chasing frame rates when 30fps locked is absolutely fine…set render scaling to 105 and the rest on Ultra and WOW !!!

I get tips of places to fly based on:
Those TV programes where celebrities travel around a country.
Alexander Armstrongs "Iceland" for example.
Or TV show called Worlds most scenic railway journeys.... has maps with routes and POI etc...

Also just started watching Netflix series about Mexican drug cartels... some place called Sinola, looked beautiful so flew to it and over it.

Yep i locked to 30fps from the outset.
My system is in my sig, i run high settings (render scale 130) CPU doesn't run boost clock though as 99% in power management
Underclocked my GPU also to 1740 max. (will go to 1950)
Keeps my temps at GPU 60-70c (mainly 65c)
CPU 50-58c underload in flight. (mainly 54c)
Like to keep it under stressed and MSFS pushes it more than any other game i own.

What is your system if you don't mind me asking?

30fps is what they went for on the console versions, so I'm guessing it's some kind of sweet spot for the game.

I was concerned of it not being 60fps, but the 30fps definitely suits the game's nature.

What i found was that i could get 60fps locked to be smooth, but I found 30fps added a slight 'blur' and softness to the scene whcih i liked. 60fps seemed too sharp for me.
Its hard to explain but 30fps in this game only, seems to look more natural to me at least.

Nah not for me guys, just tried 30 frames myself, ive got quite a beefy gaming pc and 30 is too jerky for me...No No No awful actualy.
I can run 60fps, but prefer 30fps in MSFS.
Certainly not jerky for me my end, smooth as silk and CPU/GPU not stressed too much.

Keep meaing to post this pic.
It's Flight Sim World, infamous flightsim that was pulled due to various things from steam, but i got it for £6 in a sale shortly before you could no longer purchase it.
Put about 50 hours into it and really enjoyed it... think slightly better looking FSX.
It was by Dovetail...
Anyway.... pic from Bora Bora.... look at it and think of the Bora discovery flight...

Yes.... that IS Bora Bora...

It’s strange (or maybe not so) how different systems can have such vastly different results, I’m currently flying from Houston to LA in the A320 VOR to VOR and it’s absolutely butter smooth and looking stunning from 12,000 ft with live weather, live traffic and multiplayer all enabled and it’s epic:cheers::D

Ethiopia, who knew?
Actually beautiful.
In a sort of, when the human species destroys itself, this is going nowhere.
We aren't really trying to save the world...just to save us in it.....

Right, been fiddling.
Worked out that capping 30fps in game, AND nvidia frame cap at 30fps and using Optimal or adaptive power pretty much locks mhz to 1200 and goes up if i hit a city.... keeps temps at about 60c on GPU CPU 55c.
That was HIGH preset.

So then i tried ULTRA for the sake of it....

Still smooth and mhz still at 1200 over Scottish highlands....

Not sure if the pic is big enough but look at my MSI stats on the left at power draw etc....

All of that and GPU pulling 1200mhz??! And not much usage?

Don't get it? Goes against everything i've heard.

Here is the stats:
RTX 2070 62%
GPU TEMP 58c
vram 4717
mem clock 7001
core clock 1200mhz
fan 48%
power 66%
cpu ryzen 17%
cpu temp 55c
cpu core clock 3525 (locked no boost)
ram 8x2 8000
GPU VOLTS 0.706v

So that is no 'prefer max performance' on GPU, no boost on CPU.

Running ULTRA....

RELEASE NOTES 1.21.13.0

New Aircraft We are adding 5 brand new aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator:

  • Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet: Our first military jet and a highly requested feature from the community. The Top Gun: Maverick expansion will release with the movie next Spring, but we wanted simmers to have the opportunity to be able to test their need for speed this holiday.
  • VoloCity: We partnered with well-known German company Volocopter, which is working on an eVTOL called “VoloCity”, a vision for an urban air taxi. We worked closely with the Volocopter engineering team to develop an authentic version of the aircraft for the simulator. This is our first aircraft that can perform pinpoint landings and is a teaser of what you can look forward to in 2022 when we intend to launch helicopters in the sim.
  • Pilatus PC-6 Porter: This legendary short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft is a highly versatile plane from Switzerland, and our close collaboration with the manufacturer and the development efforts by famed developers Hans Hartmann and Alexander Metzger resulted in a great and fun new aircraft with exception capabilities in the simulator.
  • CubCrafters NX Cub: Yakima-based CubCrafters recently introduced a nosewheel option for their flagship CC-19 XCub Aircraft, popularly called the NX Cub, which we are pleased to introduce to the flight sim audience to further enhance our bush flying and off airport options.
  • Aviat Pitts Special S1S: One of our most popular planes gets a single-seat option with the release of this aircraft.
New Airports

We are adding 8 handcrafted airports in Central Europe and the United States:

  • Leipzig/Halle Airport (EDDP)
  • Allgäu Airport Memmingen (EDJA)
  • Kassel Airport (EDVK)
  • Lugano Airport (LSZA)
  • Zurich Airport (LSZH)
  • Luzern-Beromunster Airport (LSZO)
  • Patrick Space Force Base (KCOF)
  • Marine Corps Air Station Miramar (KNKX)
The Game of the Year release is adding information about 545 previously missing airports in the United States

New Missions
Based on the popularity of the recently introduced Discovery Flights, we are adding an additional 6 locations (Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore, and Mount Cook) to this popular series

New Tutorials (produced in partnership with FS Academy)
To further expand the onboarding experience, we are adding 14 new tutorials, introducing simmers to Bush flying (in an Icon A5) and IFR (in a Cessna 172)

New Features
We are also pleased to introduce several highly requested features by the community: an updated weather system, early access to DX12, and a dev mode replay system (more info below)

New Photogrammetry Cities
As part of our ongoing collaboration with Bing Maps, we are pleased to add a number of new photogrammetry cities: Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg in Germany (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, and Nottingham (UK), ), Vers-Pont-Du-Gard, Chambord and Port-Vendres (France) and Utrecht (Netherlands)

Well i have had nothing but praise for MSFS since i got it.
But alas SU7, aside from re setting some settings which i easily changed back, but still annoying.
Further to that and the biggie, in context of gaming not the world obvioulsy, is that performance has suddenly gone down.
Stutters and frame timing issues which yesterday were spot on.

Also loads of shimering and bad AA on planes now....
Yesterday was about perfect.
Just looks different now.
I'm gutted.
Switched it off will chill with the family and try again later.
Bit deflated to be honest.

I now have 115 planes in my hangar  to be honest the update was fine for me..took the F-18 Hornet for a spin round the Mach Loop, flys pretty well and looks good but the amount of buttons in the cockpit that are INOP is alarming, guess I’ve been spoilt by the utterly fantastic Hawk that was just released… also just had a few go’s at the Reno air races and it’s a lot more fun than I originally thought it would be..the sim snobs would hate it but the multiplayer and online leaderboards are great fun to challenge, not tried VR yet but this update has been pretty good so far👍
