So glad that tracks over and done with , I hated it esp. when people don't bother to give you room when using the draft to "push" past. And all the racing was so artificial , now we can do a proper track Spa!.
Hopefully that's the last created track I ever race and instead we can do proper tracks like Fuji, Suzuka (GP or East), Monaco and Tsukuba. (no offence to you RT , but that track was my idea of hell)

Season 4 will have at least one, yes.

Real drivers see new tracks every year, and they may not like them but they make the best of it and do what they can. Shouldn't be any different here. :)

Yeah this. No offence of course, the track was very fun when driving it by yourself - Turn 5 is a very difficult corner to get right, Turn 8 is probably the most important on the whole circuit and again sometimes a pain to get right - 11/12 too are of course difficult, and the last two corners too are both a challenge.

But when racing in a pack, I really didn't like it. There is only one real passing place, at Turn 1, and even that is difficult because the braking distance is relatively short but the speed remains reasonably high. You could pass perhaps into the last couple of corners if the driver in front makes a mistake. Otherwise every other corner, you have to get HUGE participation from the other driver to run two-wide, or one of you will end up in the wall; most corners are one line only.

If we have other custom circuits in incoming seasons, the ability for side-by-side racing should be the most important part of the circuit, rather than challenging one-line-only corners. Imo.

Dropping like flies. I'm gonna be the first to suggest postponing Thanksgiving week's round. And not because I can't make it, but because I expect even more no-shows next week.

Every corner of every circuit is a passing corner. The best drivers make it work, I don't see how we're any different.

Sorry Turbo, I'm not going to make the race today. Hopefully someone can fill my spot.

Kind of saw that coming actually.

Hopefully doesn't have to happen. Trying to keep it away from the Christmas holiday as much as possible.

Oh my god. This one was boooooooooooring. Not much fun racing alone.
Felt like doing time trial in an oval circuit.
Good job everyone.

I liked the track. Too bad I was very inconsistent in the first 16 laps, didn't really get into a groove until after I pit.

Internet just went out 🤬 Will make it if the internet comes back, but if not I guess another reserve comes in :grumpy: I'm beginning to dislike rural michigan.

Race report:

Well, let's start off with the track.

Twin Cities One, the original, I actually liked. After spending some time with a much faster friend, I could run 1.34s. From what I was reading, that should have been halfway decent.

And then I read you changed the track. After finding someone who had the updated version, the first thing I thought when I got on the new track was I hate it. The other track had a couple corners that you really had to work your way through. This track, save a couple corners, it seemed you could go as fast as you want and you still weren't on the limit. And the only corner I truly hated, turn 5, was left the same.

I'm not sure what day it was, but I ran in a practice room and I finally figured out the track. Thanks to the D1 leader, and watching his replays, I figured out where I was going horribly wrong.

Now, after the hosting mix-up, saw the NEP could run a 34 second lap flat. Instantly deflated my balloon thinking I could win. Then came qualifying. I knew lap 4 was my best lap. Good tire temperature, good tire wear. Riding behind NEP for the first two laps, we were both using the same lines. I slowed down, let a car in front of me get some room, then floored it for lap 4.

Almost every sector, I was up 0.1. Really thought I had a poll qualifying lap. Then somewhere in the last sector, it vanished. I got 4th place. Still, very happy with that.

I figure if I pasted in my last sector, I was running something in the 33s.

So the race started. Not sure who it was, but the guy in front of me didn't get the best start. I got one of my best starts of the season and I got 3rd place by turn 2.

Then it was five laps of praying my car stayed off the grass. Turn 5 and turn 11 and 12 seemed to be my best corners all of a sudden. I'd lose them everywhere else, then I'd catch back up. NEPAL was right behind me. I knew I couldn't hold him off, but I tried. Then the lag came. Completely messed up my concentration. I was just waiting for Green's car (that was now dancing around the track) to take someone out. In this process, I let NEPAL by me by sliding wide. A bit later, I tried to pass him on the inside, but that was to no avail.

And it happened. Green's car lagged its way into a crash. I saw it happen in front of me. I picked a line and plowed into the side of him. I now realize that was the wrong line. It wasn't too critical, but now NEPAL said see ya later and took off. I think I could maybe match his laps, but there's no way I was beating him.

Then around lap sixteen, I saw the leaders pit, so I thought I'd stay out and lead a lap. I hope that counted. Then I came in to pit, came out 5th. I saw TheMinion ahead of me. I thought I could drag him in.

Once my tires heated up, I ran a 34.7-something. His car seemed to be looming closer, and all of a sudden corner 5 turned on me. I can't count how many times I went off. I'd start catching up, then I'd lose all the time I'd gain in turn 5. Finally, with about two laps to go, I'd put together enough good laps to finally start to see his name pop up over his car. Then on lap thirty-two, I was closing in hard. I really wish this was a thirty-three lap race. I didn't have enough tires left to make that much track up without a draft.

Crossing the line in 5th place, my seasonal best, at a track that I liked, then hated, then sort of liked, I decided that maybe, somehow, I could win one of these things.

...You know. if everyone else crashes going up Eau Rouge.:sly:

Also, I had the crazy idea I could set the fastest lap time. I knew NEP and I both set 33.9s. After watching the replay, he had the better time, by a ridiculously small margin.

So, good race NEPAL and everybody else.

Cya next week!

Heads up to Division 2 drivers, I am waiting for the NASCAR race to finish so the room may not be open as early as I had hoped. It will be open on time though.

Well my first race of my season went about as I expected, except getting tangled up with someone (CSL) on lap 1. The actual race was my first time racing side by side with anyone, after downloading the track and getting the DLC late last night. CSL and I went side by side into the fast turn 4, which you can take flat out if you apex it right. Well I was on the inside and even braking into it I still didnt have enough real estate to keep from bumping CSL's door and into the grass he went. I should have just let everyone pass me at the beginning since I had zero experience on the track with other cars. Really sorry CSL, you can ask the other regulars here I'm a clean driver. Rest of the race was pretty much a time trial for me, although KOS79 and I were together for quite a few laps. I even slowed up for him at some points so we would run with eachother lol, it gets boring not having anyone with you. Spy was on my ass at some points and I did my best to get the hell out of the way. Sorry I wasnt competitive this time around guys, I'll be much more competitive in the tracks I know. Thanks for the race! Good to be back in the miat series once again

I was essentially hopeless for this race anyway. So no real harm no foul. I may have come down on you anyway, I didn't know you were still there, could have sworn I saw you swing in line behind me.:(

I had the pace to be 7th, and that's what I got. Didn't practice enough for the unknown track, did manage a best of something like 34.4xx though on low fuel so I was happy to see I was figuring it out, even if too late.

Could have held onto 6th if I hadn't went off 2-3 times and let him catch me. Was running all 34's and low 35's keeping him at bay for a while.
Hopefully better luck and knowing the track will grant me a return to the podium at Spa.

Wasn't that the best championship race ever. I knew Stewart had it though.

You guys changed the track!?!?!? You're killing me here. <sigh>. I literally haven't been on GT in almost 5 days. I had the first twin cities nailed and practiced all last week. Guess I have 90 minutes to learn the new one now! <sigh>

Yeah was hoping we would have a new champion though.

Gotta keep up on the thread! ;)

I actually was going to PM you about the track change, sorry :scared:

If you knew the old one well, it won't take long to adjust to the new one. Just a bit faster because it's wider imo.

I'm totally gutted after that race their couldn't of been a worse time for me to start lagging, the lag pretty much destroyed my race. I watched Nastradamus87's view of things and there's nothing he could of really done so I don't blame him at all.

If I look at the positives I got pole postion, I lead for a good while at the start just couldn't shake Nastradamus. Anytime I managed to get a gap going it would just get closed again at the home straight, I then ended up inbetween nep and Nastra which is where things went horrible wrong. But I worked my way back up the field and got 6th I think.
Think I used all my luck up last week lol,

Also can I say toyotsupra why did you come in our room my lag got alot worse when you entered, it didn't cause me to crash or anything but was very off putting please don't do it again.

While not my favourite track in the world, it's not bad, especially for a custom track.

Race Report

Got some good practice in which paid off when I qualified third behind Greennarcotics and RedReevos.

Start of the race was smooth with no contact in the first corners and I stole second place. (Red didn't have the best start and got banged around a lot in the first few corners :scared:.)

I kept up with Green and passed him on lap 8. I held the lead until the 10th lap when Green took it back. Lap 11 Nep slipped by and the three of us stuck together until this happened on lap 12:

After that, the gap between me and Nep stayed about 2.5 second. On lap 18 RedReevos caught me. At that point I gave up on Nep (who I probably never would have caught) and began conserving my tires to try and keep second. Red and I kept it clean and simple until the last lap. Here is our final lap battle:

Holy crap! It shows me cutting onto the grass and ramming you off the road.

Your car is apparently in two places at one time. On my screen you see that I end up on the grass because your car teleported beside me and nudged me off the road. When I come back on the road I hit your car as shown on your screen.
This lag is ridiculous sometimes. 👎
Sorry that ruined your race. You had superb pace and could have taken the win.

Yep, I was waiting for that, still couldn't miss it.

edit: I look like a fool, driving straight in to it.

Yeah I know nastra.....you can see why I was so gutted lol anyway enough talk of crashes lol. Was still a good race well done to nep he may have got a little lucky but he made the most of it and thats how good drivers win races. I also really like this track and look forward to seeing turbo's next creation :)

Well.. I typed up race finish, fastest laps, gaps between finishers, final finishing time, lap leaders, and overall fastest lap... hit submit, not realizing my laptop had decided to no longer be connected to wifi.

So.. I don't feel like re-typing it right now. If someone else will do it awesome.. Otherwise I will re-type and post it later tonight. Been one of those days.

And Nastra, to answer your question earlier from the race room. Thanks for asking if it was your fault that I went off, but it was mine. And thank you for such a fun race. I managed to pass you when you had cold tires, but couldn't shake you. It was a great battle, congrats on 2nd place my friend.
