Just wanted to post this up really quick. Been doing some looking around this forum and it's quite clear that the FMSC is falling behind the times compared to a few other series out there. Not sure what I can do about that as our current situation is about the best I can do. Kind of having second thoughts about continuing after Season 3, may just take a break for a while.

With that said, I want to thank everyone that has stuck around since the beginning, and those that put forth the effort to make every race. It's nice to see the same people every weekend that, even though they may not be running at the front, try their best to be here each and every time.

Looking forward to Spa this weekend.

Thanks guys. :)👍

Not sure what you mean "falling behind the times".
FMSC is one of the best run and looked after series I've seen, and that's not something to take lightly.
Good structure, fast updates, everything timely and taken care of throughout the season are the most important things a series host can do, and you're doing it very well.👍

Just my thoughts, it's great to see the series organizer stick with it and keep everything as tidy as you have.
If there's an FMSC season 4, you could sign me up for it already, given I can make the time slot, that's how I feel about it.

The thread has over 3000 posts, and the series has over 30 sign ups. I dont think its falling behind, I actually think its ahead of the rest. 👍 The number of people dropped probably due to the track being a custom track and people may not a be a fan of those. I know Im not a fan. Watch the number of people increase next weekend at Spa.

What makes you say that?

If anything, this has been a great season so far and we've had good participation. Even if we didn't have full fields for the last round, we still had 30+ racers competing over the weekend which is much more than what we had last season. If anything, we're the ones who set the bar high for all the other series. If they've bumped up the bar, why can't we either? :)

I feel bad that I can't give you guys the best time slots, prizes, or the appeal that some series have right now.

I find the fun-factor, attendance, and race quality to be the most important. And this is one of the best I've seen.
the JGTC events are probably the thing that's even close... and those cars have been so played to death I doubt they will continue to command everyone's attention for much longer.

Bump up the bar?! Prizes for EVERYONE  Seriously, the series is great the way it is, if it aint broke dont fix it.

First, you give us three time slots, one which brings in the international drivers, one which works for the ones on the East and Midwest, and one which works for us on the West Coast. Second, I'm not really gunning for the prizes anyway and yes, it would be really awesome to have great prizes but I don't see it as a necessity. Third, look at the bumper crop of drivers we got racing and the pages and pages of posts we have right now. That, and ask any of us if we feel (or would feel) a great sense of accomplishment winning a race in this series. I literally leaped out of my chair when I won on Sunday. :dopey:

From someone who has a habit of asking too much of oneself, don't beat yourself up, man. You're doing great! 👍 :)

Really, this is a great series.
It's really hard to find good quality SPEC races. Plus, it has some of the best racers I've ever seen (clean, fast, very fast).

Pish, posh. I am sure I can safely say that 99% of the people who are racing with us aren't in it for the prizes. FMSC provides three timeslots to fit a person schedule which is more than enough options to make something work. And as for appeal, well I suck donkey balls this season but I am still racing so what does that tell you? The competition is what appeals to me and FMSC has boat loads to offer. Not to mention the amazing camaraderie among FMSC participants.

I love the time slots, first off. The options due to having 50 sign-ups never hurts either.
I entered as a reserve in a 2 division series, and demand got so high we got a third slot, have been fairly well filling 3 timeslots, and it's been great.

I've never once raced for a prize beside "winning". (Or however close I can get  )

People race, we have fun, 3 time slots to choose, each with a good mix of talent, the series isn't falling behind on things like points standings, etc. You do a lot of work to continuously keep everything up to date, and those are the most important factors in any series.
So like I said, top notch stuff in my book, sign me up for season 4 if you have it. 👍

What he said... that makes it great.

EDIT: anyone running a SPA practice to night?

This series is leading the charge. It's very well organized and the competition is fierce. I race for the glory, not the prizes. Give me a good car, track list, and dedicated drivers and I'm happy. I only have time for one series and I chose this one, for what that's worth.

I'm completely lost at spa. If some people are on to show me around I'll get in on some practice.

This series is great. Although I didn't enjoy Sunday's race on the custom track (I just don't like those tracks) I did know going in that you had put in on the schedule. Some people will love it.

As for next season, you really should think about keeping it going. Not sure if your Mazda connection panned out, but I'd like to start sending the key racing players your race reports and the photo gallery. Maybe we can do something about raising the bar once again on prizing.

Good series. Keep your chin up. Every now and then people get the blas mid season.

Got back to me once, then haven't heard anything. Honestly as someone who has worked with the general public for years, I find their timeliness to responding to their emails rather crappy.

I might scale back on the sponsor thing next season anyway. We only really need one. (FM)

Great series. Well run. Superb drivers(in the distance) I'll be in next season. Looking at results I'm clearly not in it for the prizes!

Honestly, I think you talking out of your ass, saying this series 'falling behind'. I mean seriously? You have done a tremendous job with this series, all you have to do is look at the number of fast and clean racers that are present here. You have brought together some of the best racers on GTP that race every week (or try to), with almost full grids in three divisions mid-season. A lot of series lose half the grid after the first race. I've not had the best races but I still want to race, I know for a fact I won't win the series either. I actually wish you had put more races in the schedule, but I can understand with Christmas on the way. Just make sure there is a Season 4 ;)

After 10-15 minutes of lapping I stopped to get my prize car and checked the rankings. I'm actually 4 tenths behind you right now. I'd love to try and get higher, but other than showing off there's really no point.

I don't think SRF really highlights your strengths. You have a real world feel for the cars. Your tire management, smoothness, and control of the car are rarely matched. With SRF on, it is more of a wrangling of arcade physics, slamming your car from one direction to the other, with the tires in the red almost the whole time.

I can't imagine spending a lot of time on the time trial will improve anyone's real world driving. Although, I hate to admit it, it was a bit fun to just toss the car around and defy physics. I limited myself to a short time on it,but part of me wants to go back and fling it around some more. I could easily see all the time I was missing.

You have done a tremendous job with this series
👍

I strongly agree with all of these comments. This series was the one that really started the movement of quality racing series. I wasn't here for season 1, but I remember hearing about it. I tried running in some public lobbies when I first got the game, and thought, thats too bad that online play just doesn't provide good racing.

I have met so many good racers from your series, Mule's series, and Wardez' series. Without this organization and effort from you guys, I would have put away my copy of GT5 a long time ago.

And, as others have stated, I am not here racing with you guys for the prizes. I am here for quality, clean, fast racing. I am here for the comraderie, and get enjoyment everytime I hear people's stories on how they have improved.

I also agree with many of the other positive comments made by the others about this series.. I just didn't want to re-quote everything already stated

So in summation, Turbo 👍👍👍

Edit - Sorry for the double post. Amazed there was a 26min period with no new posts in the Miata thread.

Trophies. We don't need no stinking trophies.

Give me a good group of racers with solid rule set that provides quality clean racing and I am happy as ever.

Besides those prize leagues bring the drama. ;)

Turbo, keep up the good work man. Nothing you are doing is wrong or sub par in any fashion.

I agree with all of the above (I cba quoting anything :P) this series is by far one of the best and your organisation of it Turbo has been brilliant, also if theres a season 4 count me in. 👍 (more tracks would be nice too like Suzuka and Fugi ect ect :sly:)

For what it's worth, I'm in my lounge right now running laps to see if I can better my PB at Spa before going off on Thanksgiving weekend. I want to say it was a 2:38.9 but I don't remember.
