Ah yes, that too. I got most of them, missing a few. (assuming you since you brought it up)

I thought I led at the end of lap 2, start of 3, before my inability to drive reared it's ugly head again! :D

I also felt sorry for dsgerb as he was catching me for 4th with a few laps to go, when unfortunately Jay lost it ahead, allowing me to scrape through with inches to spare and leaving no-where for dsg to go. You had the pace to take 4th buddy, really bad luck there, :(

If I just stuck to the racing line I would've been okay I think (and gravy had 1-2 less dates with the wall ). I decided to predict where Jay's slide would end-up and failed.

Not sure if this is a good idea, but how about doing a one or two lap race as a lag test before resetting the room for official qualifying. Maybe this will take too much time, but it would be better to know if someone is severely lagging before the race has started and nothing can be done about it except pray they don't collect you.

Greennarcotics wasn't lagging at the start though, or in qualifying.

Somebody can lag a bit at the start and run trouble free, and people don't lag at the start but then lag later in the race.

Exactly. I always watch everyone in the room before starting qualifying and make sure nobody is jumpy.

Hm. I see. Well, that's settles it then. Guess we'll just have to hope for the best.

Greennarcotics, there isn't anything besides your PS3 using your bandwidth during the races, is there? Seems obvious, but thought I'd ask nonetheless.

I've come to consider lag a hazard of the racetrack, I had quite a few lag issues in the past, so that might help me see eye-to-eye with it.

I try to calculate the risk, best I can. Depending on my position, how much ground I have or need to gain, and how slow the lagging car is, along with how severely lagging it is.
Though it would be nice if severely lagging cars that think the car behind may be faster would let them by, since they're impossible to pass.

Edit: Yes, I have let people by because I thought the only reason they couldn't pass was lag.

Div3 Info

Thank you Dr.! I didn't actually get a capture of the finish screen, so that was a huge help.

Now that I see your starting positions, I got my numbers confused. My issues at the start were not from the #7 grid position. It had nothing to do with Minion.

Damn you RedReevos for being so fast in the GT-R time trial.

Thanks.. I didn't think that would hold up. I guess I found the rhythm fairly quickly. Probably way down the list now. After about 30 min, I realized the SRF was forced on. After that I stopped running laps. I haven't checked the rankings since... But I would assume that you and many others have moved me to my proper place.:ouch:

Also, if any of you only purchased the car pack and not the whole bundle.. I made Spa my default Lounge track. That way, any of you on my friend's list should be able to go to SPA even when I am not on PSN.

When watching the replay, he did seem fine at the beginning of the race. I was going to make a similar comment earlier but forgot. It was if someone, or something, was stealing his bandwidth mid race.

There is other people is my house so someone else could have been but I'm not really sure tbh. But I didn't pull out my laptop mid race and start streaming a movie LOL :dopey:, I did notice how much lag I was getting towards the end of the race but there's not anything I could have done at the time. When I was trying to pass spyhunter he was jumping one minute I'm like 2 car lenghts back the next I'm right on his bumper It was scary :scared:.

. We were bumper to bumper for most of the race and didn't make contact once. Much respect! 👍

Much respect to you to sir!👍

@Outlaw - Great race report. I enjoy reading your reviews of the races. Well written my friend.👍 And congratulations on the win. Turbo is an extremely tough one to beat on track!

Doubt anyone is going to be on right now, but I created a room just now to get some practice in at spa. I was so stoked to find out it made it into the new DLC, what an epic track!

1472-4710-9995-5399-0547 - closed! had fun with another guy who joined who isnt part of the series. told him about it so maybe he will hop on board

Normally I would be down. I moved my steering wheel to the storage room yesterday evening, and it would be a bit loud to go setup right now. And yes, I am rubbish with the pad.

As to your reference of the dlc track Spa - The SPA track seems to be rendered better than many of the other tracks. We did an end of season playoff in another series, and it comprised of a competition at Suzuka and SPA. The switch was huge. It made Suzuka seem grainy. Like it was a "standard" and Spa was a "premium." Maybe I am crazy, but the force feedback feels better at Spa as well.

Thanks and yes, Turbo is quite difficult to beat and honestly, I may have to point to Spec 2.0 for the reason why I can actually put up a challenge now.

What hasn't changed, though is his uncanny tire management. If you see my tire wear on the replay, he had at least two or three bars more than I did and I was the one following him the whole stint! One of these days, I'll figure out the trick to it.

After 10-15 minutes of lapping I stopped to get my prize car and checked the rankings. I'm actually 4 tenths behind you right now. I'd love to try and get higher, but other than showing off there's really no point.

Was on call for work this weekend/week. Had been a busy week, and hadn't had a chance to practice the "new" course, as well. Was at a Rally-X all day, and made it home with 5 mins to get the PS3 on, and in the room. I made it on to the track just before the race started. Got one full lap (the warm up, untimed one) in. My times were off the pace, I had an off at T6 pressing too hard, then got a call while going into T5. Looked to see if it was work, crashed at T6 again. Quit out to take the call. I was hoping to make my first race the bad one. Oh, well.

I know the last corner was killing me. I would actually gain on the leaders from T1 through T11(?), typically. Then I would give it all up and more from there to T1.

I feel ya... being on-call at work sucks. Thankfully I got called at 5:20 and 7:30 but not during the race.

Not sure where I was going wrong in the last sector either.
The last flyer I put in during quali I was blue by .1 in sector1 then .219 at the sector two line... then +.5 fifth place at the finish line. If I could have figured that out I would have been doing high 33's for sure. :/

See when you go up the hill towards the Turn 12 or 13 ( the left hander before the last corner). I found that if you stayed really close to the inside you cloud tap the brake and almost flick the car round that corner which would keep you speed above 80mph and you wouldn't run wide and lose position for the last corner. Last corner I was braking just enough so I didn't hit the outside curb then dropping down to 2nd gear and taking the inside line out the corner. But I did have alot practice but I don't think the way I was talking it was the the fastest way tbh I always struggled to get it right on the exit.

I was just trying that challengnng 97, which I think is great. my best yet in one of these things (Thank you wheel). Then I looked at Outlaw's time (34.XXX). I think I can do a sub 34s lap... I hope. What I don't understand is that mandated skid recovery force.

2nd gear isn't really necessary, to be honest.

Yeah I did try not using it but I was running wide alot, so I was kind of using it to slow me down enough to line up the exit. Maybe abit of a bad habbit I picked up from my practice sessions and then couldn't stop doing it.:dopey:

I think i was losing my time in T14 as I was sacrificing the exit of that to get lined up for the last corner. And like turbo said, I was using 3rd there.. just trying to keep the speed above 62mph (100k) so the engine didn't bog down.
I found that putting the inside front on the kerb there would rotate it enough to keep the car from running wide on exit. Just had to be careful that the rear end didn't get loose.
The run from turn 8 - 14 however was bonkers fun.
It's so easy to over brake for the 11-12 complex but as the race went on my balls got bigger and bigger and I could start doing that at almost 90mph on the 3rd gear red-zone.

outlaw4rc's Racing Report

Brosif and Turbo were side-by-side through T8 and T9 and they had slowed down enough that I swerved around Turbo to take P2 and I was gunning for P1 at T10 but I had to lift to avoid hitting Brosif.

Brosif had taken the lead with the fresher tires and Turbo and I were just behind him. Then I saw ketiux go wide out of T7 and hit the wall hard. I think Brosif expected ketiux's car to ricochet out of his way so he stayed outside and then he hit him on the driver's side door. After that, all I saw was smoke and I went inside and crossed my fingers.

When asked whether the victory changes the driver's opinion on the track, outlaw provided a subtle response.

Road America is near here, isn't it?

Because of limited funding, the team is not scheduled to race at Spa but will return to racing action at Madrid in two weeks.

Great report outlaw!

I knew that you would get past Turbo in the stretch between T9 and T10 but I wasn't sure exactly how big of a run you got on us. I drive from the cockpit view which doesn't have a wide enough view angle to see the left wing mirror so I had only a rough idea of where you were. Given the company I was racing with and knowing that I, personally, would not try to make a pass through that corner, I decided to turn in on my normal racing line and hope for the best.

I saw ketiux take a late entry into T6 and knew he was going to end up in the guardrail. With the way the armco angles back towards the track I was expecting the car to ricochet across the pavement left to right in a similar fashion to this:

I didn't want to be David Ruetimann so I decided to hold my line to the left but GT5 had other plans. I haven't watched the replay yet but I wasn't at all happy with how that ordeal worked itself out. Oh well.

Road America would be nice. I definitely liked Twin Cities v1.0 better than v1.1 but it's over and done now.

Hopefully Team Red Bull-Outlaw Racing isn't going to close shop at the end of the season like their NASCAR counterpart.

Yeah I think everyone had there own way of getting round that course, would like to see aderrrm 1'33.3 to see how he done it. The best time I see in my practice session was 134.0 and I don't think I was ever going to better that driving it the way I was. Just wish I could of done a few of those time at the start of the race to lose nastra lol

You were flying on the opening laps. One thing I did notice was in turn 5 and turns 11-12 I could make up a good car to two car lengths on you guys.
On T15 you would drive away again.

@BrosifDuder, That corner is very similar in the way it kicks you back out onto the track. I never could make sense of why the Watkin track designer, put that wall there.

I was definitely losing most of my time in turns 14 and 15. I know I'm not the fastest, so if I can get to within 1-2 seconds of the faster guys, I'm pretty happy. Running practice laps Saturday and Sunday morning, with some people setting best laps in the low 1:34's, I was able to get through the first two sectors less than a second off pace, but I was losing another 1.5-2 seconds through the last sector. I think part of my issue is the fact that up until now, I've been forced to use automatic transmission. A lot of times I either have to brake more than needed to force it to downshift, or I need to take the corner in a higher gear than I would like. In Sunday's race, I was happy with the way I was running when I got into a decent groove, but I wish I could have avoided the mistakes early that separated me from the pack.
