I got 6th place in div 2 race but I am confused to why I was so far off my usual pace I've been running all week 2.15s low ones at that.I couldn't run faster than a 2.17 for the most part last night.I don't get it.I ran some races with fast guys like minion and it was battles to the end.Last night 50 seconds off the pace I'm not buying it .

Nurburgring is weird on GT5. Its grip varies a lot, and when there are sessions with 13, 14 drivers the grip decreases drastically, dont know why. I did 1.15.0 on qualifying. I had managed 1.13.9 practicing, and I was hitting 14s easily. GT5's online is just pure magic, it's just weird.

How were you practicing? Online or offline? In your lounge or an open lobby? Are you 100% sure you had all the room settings correct (tire wear, fuel consumption, grip reduction set to real, weak drafting)?

I did a lot of practicing in my lounge with tire wear accidentally set to off. As soon as I jumped in a practice room with some other guys my lap times were over a second higher because of tire wear alone. Maybe this is the case for you as well?

Edit: Just noticed the bit about running practice races with Minion. If you were running laps in the 15's without following in someone's draft then it's a mystery why your pace was off so much. Did you change your oil, rebuild the engine, and restore the chassis before the race? If you practiced a lot your car may have been down on power.

I was a second slower all day too. It was mystifying. CSL wasn't up to his practice pace either. I think something was funky with the room. Seemed to hurt everyone pretty equally though.

I noticed the same thing. I was practicing a bit Saturday morning, which was really my first time driving the car, and after a little while I got down to low 2:17's and felt like if i had just a little more time I would've been down into the 2:16's. I don't think I even cracked into the 2:18's until lap 19 last night. I know I definitely need to practice more, but it was frustrating that I couldn't even come close to the times I was getting the day before.

I really didn't notice anything except that I was slow anyway. :P

Didn't practice all week and was averaging 14.7~15.1 in the practice before the race, and during the race when I had some clean air.

I've had simliar phenomenon happen to me in the past in online races. A Lotus 111R RM at Autumn Ring Reverse race comes to mind. I was 1-2 seconds off of my practice pace. I totally believe that lag/latency issues come in to play in these room, and the end result means "grip" goes away and you run slower. I would not be surprised if this was the case for you and others. On my end, things went smoothly this time around, but I sort of keep my fingers crossed each time I do an online race that this doesn't happen again to me. It only happens in bigger rooms (which is why I kept lobby size down to 14) and turned mic's off etc.

Can someone tell me where the false check start settings are in the online lobbies? Event settings?

Edit: Also, might be penalties incoming by the end of the day. A couple issues were brought up to me that I have to look over in replays before I make a decision.

Edit 2: Yes I'm a cheap bastard. Should I buy this? :sly:

or this?

Event Setting-> Grid Type -> Grid with False Start Check 👍

I'd trust Diamond MM more than ? brand ... but if I was being a cheap bastard I'd still kick in the extra couple $s and get the pinnacle. Probably as cheap as I'd ever go on a vid-cap device http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pinnacl...able/9714459.p?id=1218156772061&skuId=9714459

Saw that one too but didn't click on it. I may go that route, and there's one in stock at the Best Buy on my way home. Will give it some thought, but we need to get videos up from this season. So many crazy battles, and we're only through the first races. :dunce:

I noticed this, in the practice rooms you were very fast, consistent 15's, but in the race it seemed you were way off pace. In fact, in the second stint I was actually closing up on you(not a lot, but tenths in just about every split) until I screwed up and spun in corner 6. I then decided to just back it down and bring it home.

I'm also getting adjusted to using the bumper cam, I would always use the chase came when running with the DS3, but now with the wheel I feel you can't hear or feel everything that you need to using the chase cam.

Also RT you were hardly slow, I know you set the bar high but while watching the replay, you put quite a run together chasing down Ketiux.

True, however my best lap the entire race was still a 14.7. Nowhere near where I wanted to be.

Funny thing about chasing down Ketiux, if you watch the replay from my perspective and skip forward to lap 19 or 20, then slowly skip forward each lap after that, you can see how much I gained over the course of 3-4 laps. He just get's closer and closer. :dopey:

I'm surprised I pulled away from Welsh.

So I ran some more laps today to get a clean 13 second pass at Nurb GP/F, and did a 14.207 in qualifying fuel trim (Lap 3), and a 13.818 in a bit lower fuel trim like in the race (Lap 15). Linking my personal best, I am now at a 13.5xx. I can totally see how a 13.2xx like what Aderm did is possible. Well done Aderm (again, haha)

Like just about every other track, this track has it's secrets, and so does this car. Though, really not secrets, just typical GT5 stuff. Gotta keep it in the rubber.

One thing I did notice - I entered the room and practice was still going. I ran a some low 16s, then the 3rd lap was 15. I thought I could make a high 14.
The room reset for the Q season.

I was stuck in the 17s and 16s. Some corners felt "off". The Ford section was the worst. Before I could trail-brake the car to get some sort of oversteer. No matter what I did, it understeered. I was blaming this on my controller.

Then when the race started, it was worse. I pit on lap 9, figured "what's the worst thing that could happen".

I came out of the pits and ran 15s and a 14s. I was milking the tires, too. I thought a 14.6 was doable.

Even after the tires wore out, my car still "handled" better than it did at the start.

I notice that we made it all the way to like lap 11 in Division 2 before someone cleared out the soft barriers in the tight chicane.

Thanks to everyone for the race yesterday. Looked like the other divisions went well which is good. 👍

A 13.2 isn't that good from my perspective. Did a 13.4 in practice, and a 13.5 on my only flying lap during free run before the race. I was 4 tenths up on that 13.4 during the week after the first 2 sectors. So a 12 is definitely possible with full fuel. To say I did a 13.2 with about 75% fuel, isn't that good at all. :ouch:

Oh and I heard someone called Aderrrm was lonely for about 50mins, poor guy ;)

Er yeah. No disrespect to anyone but it was the most boring race I've ever had. I don't like the car that much, apart from the fact that it produces close racing in a pack, which is why I lost concentration after 5 laps doing consistent high 13s/low 14s because I was on my own after 3 corners.

Also i would like to thank Aderrrm!
Practicing and talking with him during the week, definitely improved my skills with the car.
Thanks buddy :)

You're welcome. Any time. :)

Did Aderm have a moment on course? From his fast lap it seems he could have done a sub- 57 minute race, lol.

Hey I forgot we were racing between divisions. :P Yeah pretty boring race... was just messing around on track drifting a bit sometimes, went in the gravel twice, and went to toilet during my pit stop. :dopey:

You got all the info from D1 RT?

I learned a lot. Normally I hate the track, now I.... well.... still hate it. At least I can race the track better now.
Never made the 13s club, my best was a 14.08X in practice.

Must be nice, when you have the fastest lap of the series..... and you think you could go faster.

You got all the info from D1 RT?

Everything except the fastest laps from each driver. If you could snap a photo of the running order on the last lap that would be awesome. 👍

Edit: And the replay file if possible.

How can I save a replay from a race for my own benefit? I do not have a capture card at all. I did watch wardz stream after the race and noticed places where I can improve my times dramatically. I tried my best to not push and shove people. I just cooked my tires pathetically. I did notice people were going beyond the white lines on the track. I did as well but not on purpose. Some of those areas I have seen pro races do the same, so was it still legal in the race as well?
