Would you mind posting a video of your 13.2?

My BB was at 2/6.

I don't have anything to record a lap yet. Currently installing a new PC so I'll get some sort of capture card when it's all set up. Any recommendations on a not too expensive one which will provide decent quality?

Getting a new PC ah? Does that mean some iRacing action is in your near-future? :)

Anyway, what's "not too expensive" to you? Under under 50 quid or would around 150 be ok?

I have a Hauppauge HD-PVR box which ran me $200 USD, but it's about £170.

But then there's this, which is an excellent SD alternative :

That much rear bias is something I would have never tried. :embarrassed:

I was using a bit more rear brake balance than that, but that sort of split front-rear is pretty much what I expected you to be running, Adam. I am pretty rubbish in S2+S3 at Nurburgring GP/F in this car (gonna blame lack of throttle control on the DS3 personally >_>), but could match if not be quicker through S1 - hoping Div1 will be closer at GVS-Reverse, certainly in practice races the gap hasn't been anything like as large as it was at GP/F. So here's hoping :dopey: :sly:

In the same session Brosif let me know that the concrete slabs at the chicane and between the last tunnel and first hairpin are legal to mow down?
Just need to make sure that's absolutely correct before I learn how to take advantage of them (never had those be "in-bounds" before, usually the edge is the kerb not the wall).

Just saw this, sorry.

All concrete slabs are OK to use, as long as the car retains two wheels on the track surface. The only exception to this rule is the concrete slab after the last tunnel that is on the outside of the double left hand turn. You can use that one however you'd like.

Ahh, ok, that is good to know. I was going in that direction, and the car kept getting faster and faster from the better entry speed and early rotation from getting rid of the turn in/early corner understeer. I'm currently at 4/7. The next step was to go even lower in the front, so I totally see how 2/6 could be magic. Thanks for sharing that.

It's funny, because our NA miata in real life behaves quite similar. We run very weak brake pads in the front, and much more agressive pads in the back to bias the rear braking force and aid rotation under trail braking. It works great. The best way to do it would be to install a proportioning valve, but that's not legal per SCCA stock class rules. Anyway, good stuff.

Good luck next race Adam!

Not sure on recording devices, check out R1600's recent posts, that might be a good place to start. I still need to get one myself. Maybe I'll just mount a Go-Pro HD behind my chair when I race, haha! :)

Brilliant post...I now realise we running the reverse track! Glad I found that out before Sunday!

This one is for the aliens in here: What lap times are you guys getting? I want to know how much I need to improve :D

I'm not an alien anymore, but I think in practice races I was hitting high 2:04's. Averaging low :05's.

Once an alien, always an alien. 👍 You made it to GT Academy finals so that makes you a really fast driver. I have managed a 2.03.7 in a practice race but that was a 1 in a million chance. I had spent the whole day hitting low 2.04s.

Something I need to improve a lot at. I eat tires like as if Im eating breakfast . I need to work on my throttle control. I have improved but still need some work.

Great run by Forced and congratulations on the win! :)

Thanks Welsh! Congrats on a strong effort and good luck next week! Looking forward to Twin Cities with you and D2, should be a great battle. I love the Eifel random tracks, which are unique in their grip and lack of rubbered in driving line. Plus, having grass and kerbs everywhere really punishes running wide. Should make for an exciting, high speed race!

Someone be sure to save a replay of GVR, I want to watch it :)

Good to know, although there's not much if anything to gain from it there, imo.
Nice to be able to run wide when I miss more apexes.

Makes me feel better about running my 2/4. I'd try 2/5 this week, but GVR is actually where I set mine before, any more and I might spin entering the hairpin.:scared:
But this car is one of those that inspires real-time adjustment, as the front tires wear out.💡

Anywho, couldn't sleep after the practice session last night, had a longer go about an hour and a half later.
As of lap 15, I could still turn mid-high 2:06's, roughly 2-2.5 seconds slower then fresh tires.
How many laps is the race?

It just allows you to run wider to set up for the next corner better.

DFGT FTW.

It's been so long I guess I'll have to try it, I know the inside grass on the left after this turn can kill a race easy as pie. Yes I said "easy as pie"

DS3 right? You know you can re-map your buttons and change settings while driving too, yes? I've never done it myself since I haven't really played GT5 with the DS3, but I'm told it's as simple as re-mapping your buttons in the options menu.

Well that makes pit strategy easier.:)

Never had to use the DS3 for that. I hardly use it on the DFGT either.

It's rare that I use it, partly because my dial's button "kinda broken" for most of time I've owned it. One click right may lower my number by 2, raise it by 3, or any number in between.

But it's pretty useful in this Miata.:)

Are these BB settings with or without ABS? The two things that killed me at Nurb this past weekend were wheel-lock and to a much lesser extent, throttle control.

This is going to be a busy week for me so I'm going to take my one dropped race this round. My reserve replace has plenty of time to practice so it should be all goooooood. I'll be back for Turbo's custom track.

If my spot hasn't been filled I would like to have it back for now. I just found out that I have no classes on Thursday or Friday because of reading break, so I might be able to make the race work after all. By Friday afternoon I can say for sure.

I have read a lot of people saying that it is nearly impossible to be competitive with ABS 0 on a DS3. Do you use ABS 0 because it's more fun than ABS 1? (I recall that you use a DS3. Sorry if I am wrong.)

I hadn't put any effort forward for filling it, no.

Edit: RedReevos car number finally fixed. :P

I took some shots of the Div.1 race...I might do more later. But I will say this: Nurb GP is a terrible track for photos, the lighting is just awful for them. Haha.

If anyone wants pictures of their car for some reason, I'll gladly do them. ^^;

Funny, I don't remember it being that sunny in the race....

Stunning pics, Longbow! 👍

Are you editing them before uploading them here? Just curious because I used to take pics for another series and for some reason, the pics went from :) to :grumpy: when I transferred them from my PS3 to my laptop.

Lol.. As I was reading through the posts, I was just thinking about that. Seeing Schadenfreude post reminded me of that. Thanks Turbo, I am sure he will appreciate that.

Great pictures! They really make the track look better.

So... Fix your spaceship, add a tractor beam... profit 👍
