First off, great race tonight guys. Forced dominated as I expected. Really wish Outlaw didn't have his problem with the room because my battle at the end would have been even more exciting as it would have been for the final podium spot. Needless to say when Brosif and Egg come back that room is going to be bonkers!

@ ketiux: because fitftw had issues with his DLC and didn't make tonight's race, you can take his spot, which is the only one available at the moment.

Congrats on the success of the first weekend of FMSC races! Looks like the late recruit almost cost you second place but it's great to to see some new competition running up front!

Seriously, I really don't know if I want to continue. I really need to think about this and I'll have an answer by mid-week.

I am glad your "retirement" only ended up being for 10 minutes. I was about to start calling you names if you decided to quit. :dopey:

Despite being last in div 1:( must say I thoroughly enjoyed this. It's a privilege to share the track with you guys. Hopefully I did a good job of getting out the leaders way as you lapped me.

Obviously I hope to get better as we go on but am conscious of not being in the same league as most of you. Hope no one minds me dawdling along at the back.

Dedicated and clean drivers who actively participate and communicate is what this series needs and wants. So it is great to have you here and I have no doubt that your speed will improve greatly over the course of the season.

I've had simliar phenomenon happen to me in the past in online races. A Lotus 111R RM at Autumn Ring Reverse race comes to mind.

Yup, I remember this race. Haha, you were not happy with me. :dopey:

A 13.2 isn't that good from my perspective. Did a 13.4 in practice, and a 13.5 on my only flying lap during free run before the race. I was 4 tenths up on that 13.4 during the week after the first 2 sectors. So a 12 is definitely possible with full fuel. To say I did a 13.2 with about 75% fuel, isn't that good at all. :ouch:

Whatever you say, dude. Haha. :)

Something I need to improve a lot at. I eat tires like as if Im eating breakfast .

Actually, I would prefer it if you didn't change your appetite for rubber. I pretty much count on you killing your tires a few laps before me as the only way I can get around you. :)

Well welcome back Duder :)

It's good to be back. No work and an absent GF for the rest of the week means a whole lot of pizza, beer, GT5, BF3, and football!!

Edit: Cabo Wabo kicked my ass...

That was a mistake on Forced's part. I'll be running the D2 rooms from now on, so it won't be a problem.

Edit: I see we're starting to rub off on people. WSGTC picked up themselves a title sponsor ;)

Yeah, Gravy, Turbo sorry about that. I forgot to change the setings what I restarted the room for qualifying. I'll make sure to adjust to the full 2 mins in the future in case Turbo ever needs me to host again.

(Sorry if I ended some would be last-lap battles) :(

LOL! :)

If you're on BF3 or MW3 for Xbox, add me-

hahahahahah!

Brilliant!

Didn't know there were two lanes here, where's Nige from again? xD
Hopefully we can do something like that come race time. :mischievous:
Of course, boosting each other around the track's probably smarter.
Man, that looked fun. I'd imagine the lap time was horrible.
Hope to see that this sunday 👍
Something like a 2:08 IIRC

Just saw this, sorry.

All concrete slabs are OK to use, as long as the car retains two wheels on the track surface. The only exception to this rule is the concrete slab after the last tunnel that is on the outside of the double left hand turn. You can use that one however you'd like.

| | | <---- That one.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was afraid we'd be able to run over that slab on the inside of the right hander after the left-turn pictured.

BTW, didn't see an answer when I skimmed the last few pages... did you get the replay working?

Haven't tried. Got home late last night then fought the flickr button for too long, then crashed out. I might try again tonight.

I took some shots of the Div.1 race...I might do more later. But I will say this: Nurb GP is a terrible track for photos, the lighting is just awful for them. Haha.

If anyone wants pictures of their car for some reason, I'll gladly do them. ^^;

Funny, I don't remember it being that sunny in the race....

Nicely done. 👍
btw I posted a replay for the Div3 race if you wanted to get some photos from that.
looks like everyone who raced already has a profile pic... so no *need* there.

one question though... Why do you always 'letter box' anything that isn't the 16:9 ratio?

also @ R1600Turbo:
In the points list... what's the difference between DNQ and DNS?

DNQ = Did not qualify.

DNS = Did not start.

Yeah, but what's the difference since we don't have to qualify to make the grid anymore? Does one mean they told you in advance or had a connection drop while the other is a "no call, no show"?

...or had a connection drop while the other is a "no call, no show"?

Wardez and peterrod dropped connection during qualifying and then were unable to race. They got DNS's.

Everyone else that got a DNQ was on the points list when I created it and either told me they couldn't be there, or didn't show.

I will update that list in the next day or two with more DNQ's for those that are signed up as "in" but didn't show for the first round. Reserves will remain off the list until they run an event.

Edit: Just updated points position numbers since they were not put back in order after I sorted the list. :P

RT, bump drafting will be cool at GVR. You couldn't do it safely at Nurb..F.
I think a good 2 car team could drag in a faster driver.

Oh they definitely can, welcome to grand valley race strategy >: )

Regarding bump drafting, that's fine. Just make sure the other person is OK with it. Also, try to softly bump into them instead of ramming full force.

I may turn off visible damage from now on, I honestly don't see the point in using it and the cars just get scuffed up during bump drafting.

might get better frame rates as a bonus....

👍 on both topics.

I have had many a good shuffle or recommend race that came down to a 2 car tag team.
It's great when you get a good driver to work with you. And he gets "Big picture racing".
The best part is after you pass the the leader, the show down between you and the other driver.

That would be great. I never tested that.
RT... I think the race is 21 laps right? I think that would be a shorter race than last week.
Are there any 1 hour plus races on the calendar?
And will spa have weather change on? That would make it awesome.

Just figured out why my times were much slower on race day at Nurb than when I was practicing. It has to do with how the room is set up. Race quality is very important, if you put it at high, lap times tend to be faster than putting at normal, for example. At least that's what I felt.

So my question is, what are the room settings for D3 or all divisions? Hosts might use different settings on each division affecting lap times. I just hope the right settings are used each weekend by the hosts. People were much slower on D3 than they were on their practice, including myself. I felt I had to learn the car all over again. :(

I was struggling to get low 1.04s yesterday on Spy's room, while on my lobby I hit 1.03s twice. Today, a new PB: 1.03.596 :). That's why Im questioning room settings, etc...

I already was aware of the effects of race quality on lap times and asked that before. I don't believe I ever got an answer so I'm glad you brought it up. 👍

As a side note, the times in my lounge are usually slower than in public lobbies although it depends on whether lag is present when the green flag drops.

I need to test that in my lounge. I have the quality on high, but will try the other settings.
In some peoples rooms I could almost be certain I'm faster too (.2 - .4).
