If it's not fixed host, wait a bit, then try again.
Seems to work for others?
I think the GT5 will change hosts based on the best connections in the room.

Can we do 15 min more practice time. Not really able to get into a groove with room opening late and now switching rooms. Start qual at 10:15?

Yes, that's fine. Sorry about all this guys, won't happen again. :yuck:

NEW ROOM:

1472-6118-3787-3249-2682

Wtf?????????????????

happened to someone trying to join the D3 race too... then it let him in after a bit... Between here and the Pure races everything has been pretty funky the last couple days, wonder if GT5s server network isn't working too well anymore.

GL HF guys 👍

Well I can't get in. I don't know why. Whenever I did manage to get into the room I disconnected within a minute.

My upstream db level is 48.7... pretty high so I think that might be the issue. It used to be down around 46-47 so I am going to have to call my ISP and complain.

gravydavey35 - Sorry about the big mistake in front of you about 1/3 of the way through. Was looking forward to bump drafting with you through the end then just made a bone headed move at the exit of turn one. That dropped me from 6th to 12th. Came back to 8th. Look forward to racing with you in the next one.

Someone please post the D2 race replay files - wanna watch!

Hey man, just a heads up, please don't enter race rooms that you are not racing in unless you message me first to make sure there is room for you. Thanks.

I keep thinking that 2 competitive division each with 16 drivers with reserves on standby would be have been a better way to go about it but anywho.

We'll be doing 2 classes next season, so it will sort out better.

To be honest, I don't know how the pit system works....I don't do races where I have to pit, or races at all... So I don't get it. I don't get this reset thing...

I honestly think the game has a penalty system for entering too fast, but we were never told about it. I entered too fast I guess during my stop and it reset me while entering the pits. Then, after the work was done on my car I was held there for another 5-10 seconds as if I was receiving a penalty for entering too fast. Definitely taking note of pit road speed next time and making sure I am at that speed before the AI takes over. Should lose less time doing that then going through the whole reset/penalty mess again.

How will the points work if Cowboy races in Div 3? Just wandering.

I think we'll just give him regular points as if he was in his correct division. However, I will not be allowing drivers to switch divisions on the fly unless they message me before hand. This won't happen again.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any toes :nervous:, I just wanted to watch the best . I left immediately when you said there was no room.

outlaw4rc's Racing Report

Started 1st, Finished 2nd

After a catastrophic engine failure ruined a podium finish for the Red Bull Miata at Nurburgring GP/F, the team was in low spirits entering Grand Valley Speedway Reverse where outlaw4rc had struggled in the past in other series.

However, he found extra speed in final practice and using that knowledge, pulled out an impressive 2:04.2, a new personal record, for the 15 minute qualifying session to earn him the pole position.

The start was orderly up front as outlaw4rc and R1600Turbo quickly pulled away from the rest of the field, setting up the action for the rest of the race. After leading the first lap, RT used the draft to get around and take 1st place by the end of the second at the frontstretch. outlaw continued to stay behind RT for a couple of laps; however, he complained to the crew about excessive understeer.

"The car kept going a little wide on me and I had to really be careful with the throttle and brake to keep up. At one point, he was starting to pull away and I knew that the car needed to be up front.

outlaw pushed his car and got around RT to retake the lead and soon after, headed to pit road. However, dropped lugnuts made for a lengthy stop and he rejoined the action in 3rd position. A great out lap was marred by an incident which outlaw believes made the difference in the race.

I was ready to hit Turn 1 when I saw RT exiting the pits. I knew immediately that he was going to be right in my line and I had to back way off to get around him, costing me precious seconds. It's completely not his fault. That's just how the pit exit is designed but I hope the track designers take a look at that for future races.

After the incident, outlaw decided to use the advantage of fresh tires and push his car to the maximum to try to pull away from RT and at one point, had a lead of almost two seconds However, RT slowly ate away at the lead and with four laps to go, caught outlaw's slipstream.

When that happened, I knew my race was over. I knew he manages his tires a little better and his tires were a la[ fresher.

RT eventually passed outlaw coming to the final lap but he somehow kept up with RT even with older tires and ended up side-by-side at the final hairpin. However, disaster struck. RT took the outside line and outlaw tried an inside move; however, with old tires and worn brakes, the Red Bull Miata gave a moderate side-bump to RT.

When that happened, I was certain I sent him to the dirt so I lifted off not wanting to win with a punt.

However, RT had stayed on track and powered on to the outside and took a narrow win at the line.

Had I hit the throttle when I could have, I'd be in victory lane but a clean 2nd's better than a dirty 1st. I'm not really looking forward to the next race but we'll see what we can do.

The team will go to Twin Cities next week.

Great race in d2 guys. Turn 1 lag saw me into the grass on the outside, dropped back to last. Then was behind schaden (I think) and he got a bit sideways coming out of the hairpin. Totally thought he was going around, so I tried to jump outside to avoid him and we....there was a wall there. Put me in dead last and 20 seconds back :P

Worked my way back to 7th by about lap 10 and people started pitting. I stayed out until lap 13/14 which turned out to be a decent strategy. Came out from the pits around the same spot, ket crashed I think and so he and I had some quality time together for 5 or so laps. We were tracking down eggie slowly but surely, but I made a drafting error before the last turn and went into the grass which threw off my pace a bit. Ended up passing Ket at the begging of lap 21 and ended up within shouting distance of Egg.

All in all a great race :) In retrospect I probably should have remembered that Ket didn't have nearly as much tire as I did and should have been the one pulling towards Egg instead of trying to push. But, hey, I've never had the problem of being "too cautious" in a race before. Maybe my break increased my maturity ;) :P :dopey: :dunce:

 Cool report Outlaw. Glad to see you are back at the top. Sounds like it was a fun race. 👍

Definitely not the clinics that up and Adam apparently had.

Margin of victory: 0.058 seconds 👍

The only other major disappointment was that Brosif couldn't be part of it. :(

 .058? Holy s:censored:! That's insane! D3 didnt have Wardez as well :(.

Yeah, Brosif finally got the connection problems sorted and was able to join the race, but I guess he entered pit road behind someone or too fast because his car got stuck in his stall. 👎

I urge everyone though that has races like that, including outlaw, to stick with it through the whole season because you never know what will happen. Even if you only make it to the wildcard race, you still have that chance to race in the world championship event. :)

That's what I'm aiming for. I now know for certain I'll miss Spa so my only other chance for a win is Madrid.

I might do pics but I know someone can do a better job. Here's two quickies:

This is just after I hit Turbo on the side at the final hairpin. Because of it, my car was perfect for the exit. Nine out of ten drivers would have gone WOT to start-finish. The one would lift for about half a second thinking they made the other driver eat dirt. Guess what I did?

The finish, proving that Division 2 is the best division. :sly:

I think he just bailed out of frustration. I was close to doing that too. However, I think that if anyone is bailing on the race they should quit the race completely (and remain it the lounge or whatever else to claim some points).

Nice pics and writeup Outlaw!

However,

This shows the depth of Division 3. This is a pic of the battle between 3rd to 6th place in the early laps. The ability of all of us to make it through turn 1 unscathed truly shows Division 3 is the best!👍
