Got called in to work, won't be able to make it tonight -- you guys have fun (someone bump Jett into the pits for me)
Well stig, you do have a white car for that reason XD
Yeah man, it looked like you three up front had an epic race. Stayed close from what I could tell. But that finish! Man - this is what SM racing is all about.
Thanks to everyone who showed up. Brosif's putting up a pic of the results soon. We'll put up quali. results too.
Fastest lap was a 1:17.072 by Jett. Crazy wicked.
I was really happy when I saw Neomone and Egghead bump in, didn't expect that. Made the race jusssst right.
Many 👍's to all, Cheers I'm off to work.
Guys who want to race today, read this:
Race starts @ 8pm EDT
6pm EDT - 8pm EDT Qualifying Format (Room is open practice when not qualifying):
Btw, if you have a wing or different exhaust or anything not to spec at all, you will not be allowed to qualify or race so make sure you read the first post.
One or two (depending on room size) chosen drivers go out one at a time (to give eachother room). When the qualifying session begins on track, one driver will be chosen to start their out lap first and the second driver will be told to hold on the line for 20 seconds until they can start.
All other visitors in the room will be watching the driver(s) to make sure their laps are clean. The room will be set to a 4 lap race. Only laps 2 and 3 will count as qualifying "flying lap" times.
We're gonna be focusing on racing clean, not fast. OLR rules apply but there are no points or positions to be awarded for the regular season, thanks.
Room's up:
1472 6118 3744 3750 0917
As the only one driving NB during the practice race and coming last I feel like defending the car. On those few laps I didn't spin out the car felt decent, and I don't think I was loosing too much time. So, it's not the car.
I am pretty sure I did the window weight reduction on both of the '04 1600s and they worked out to a perfect 389PP. Maybe Turbo forgot to put them in his graphic.
I'm currently runnin' the '89 Miata and I've decided to leave the chassis reinforcement off for now, as it's irreversable, so was just curious to get peoples opinions on this. Is it worth adding, negligible or a hindrance?
Chassis reinforcement is required to run in the series regardless of whether or not it actually affects the vehicle's performance.
Why would someone have to upgrade fully? I mean as long as they didn't have any illegal mods, not having a racing air filter or sport cat is only going to put them at a disadvantage
What I have gathered from Turbo and the mindset of the sporting regulations is that this series is a "Spec" series, in that, all vehicles of a particular model are identical in how they are prepared for competition.
I saw that! TOTALLY not what I was expecting.
He looks exactly as I was expecting. He also looks super excited to be there, as does everyone else. I bet he isn't digging on the constant media annoyance.
Edit: Just thought I'd post here a big congrats to R1600Turbo for making it to the top 16 in GT Academy. 👍
Nope, left it out on purpose. Didn't want to give the car any more advantage with another weight reduction.
I'll post all of that stuff in the morning. I backed out of the replay by accident on lap 21 so I will get a picked of the finish tomorrow. I did manage to get some other good photos before I exited the replay, though, and I will also post those in the morning.
Great racing!
Well then I just wasted 8 hours testing/tuning... Probably for the best, because online with the full 389pp the NB was semi-competitive time trialling but severely handicapped when subjected to wheel to wheel racing's nudges and dynamic lines. With only 387-388pp, it'd be even worse
Room went down a while ago I think filp. You should add stig though, they're always racing late nights.
AND BTW YES! Webber's on top on the first day of F1 in Melbourne! (Sorry, I'm gonna keep hijacking threads with F1 news 'cause I don't like the F1 sub-forum) Looks like Seb's too busy crying about how many buttons he has to push in order to drive the car.
But I shouldn't talk too much... quali's just around the corner and we all know how Seb does there. I'm also glad Ferrari's right behind again Alonso was a full second off. But practice isn't a great indicator of true pace anyway (everyone uses different fuel loads and tires - all hards today), I'm just excited 'cause Webber bipped Vettel on his very last lap out. I just need my boy Sergio to up his game a bit then it'll be perfect
Hook it up! lol
