I am ready for some practice tonight for sure.I had fun last night.Just say when and I will be there.:)

I have an eating contest to go to after work so I might be comatose for a while. Wish me luck!

I was going to ask who was using the NB, but it looks like nobody...

See post #289:
As the only one driving NB during the practice race and coming last I feel like defending the car. On those few laps I didn't spin out the car felt decent, and I don't think I was loosing too much time. So, it's not the car.

Decent test session tonight, got my NB Clubman time down to 1:05.2 from ~1:05.7. I'd say 0.3s of that was from consciously slowing down 0.25s in the 1st sector to take a line allowing me to carry more speed through the 2nd sector. Another 0.1s came from holding off my throttle input on the final turn for more straight-away speed, and the final 0.1s probably came from my revised LSD settings:

(2004 NR-A 1600)
Initial Torque: 25
Accel Sens: 15
Braking Sens: 5

I'm curious where I can gain most of the remaining time so if brosif or Jett wouldn't mind posting their sector times for their mid 1:04 laps that would be just swell (or PM me pretty please). Mine are currently:

22.3
40.1
105.2

Also, are you guys dropping into 2nd on that tight left hand corner? (turn 4?)

Hey spdu4ea,

Managed to run some laps at Clubman last night and thought I'd share my fastest splits with you. These are in the '89 with full power and chassis reinforcement now fitted. These were done in practice, not online.

T1 - 21.566s
T2 - 39.575s
Total - 1'04.414s

I've had a lap around the 39.300s mark at T2 also, so I think a lap of 1'04.1xx is possible.

Hope to catch up with some of you guys tonight, but may be quite late for me. :)

Oh no, I'm sandwiched! I really loved all the 3-wide action last night, made possible without disaster by everyone's best attempt to run clean.

Dunno if I'll be around at all this weekend, as I'm traveling south to see about purchasing an NB. :)

Thanks, I'll be switching to the '89 so I should get some laps in. If anyone wants to join me:

Official schedule posted. The qualifying and race times are posted in their "rules" categories, and the dates are next to the track names at the bottom of the first page. Any questions just ask.

Awesome. Any particular reason why you decided again the custom track? Just wondering.

I like Grand Valley East right-turn style though :)

Pre-seasoner's next weekend, chea!

@Brosif - awesome looking results sheet and photos.

Btw, anyone have any suggestions for next Thursday's (final) practice race get together?
I'm thinking Suzuka East, Madrid, Trial Mountain, Autumn Ring full, Cape Ring north...

No custom track cause I didn't want to deal with what I had come up with. I'll have the lap numbers up later.

Too much work to run a dual race in one day.

Boooooo! Come on dude! We are supposed to be the innovators, the leading edge of GTP online racing development. We need to do this for the sake of racing humanity!

I am just giving you flak. It would be cool to do though.

@Wardez - Thanks... and I will fecking love Pirelli if their tires work to plan.

Good runs tonight. That battle at Madrid helped lock the NB into the series, as me and Wardez were side by side down a straightaway and going exactly the same speed. I think it's good right where it's at as far as specs go.

:)

First of all, congratulations on the Academy! Awesome job!

How did the NB compare throughout the race? I just tried it at Tsukuba against my '89 ghost lap (practice mode still) and within 8 laps, was 4/10ths quicker. In a straight line there was nothing to split them, but it certainly had the edge on braking and handling. I understand online it can be more of a handful, which I guess may be enough to even things up?

Hopefully I'll be on soon to do some online tests if anyone is still going.

[off topic on F1]

And Vettel is on top at the end of practice, just like it should be lol. I love this track, looking forward to the race 👍

From the looks of it there were only 5 or 6 drivers who hit the 26 second mark. :nervous:

Yeah man it was great!

I'm gonna post some pictures later of how close I got to hitting Cab on the last lap trying to get inside Jett. Three wide going into the first left - intense.

The NB's on par for sure - I don't know if I'll drive it through the series though, it oversteers a bit too much for comfort but that characteristic does help through some turns though. Like the last big left before the last straight to the chicane on Madrid. I was able to get around it quicker than the NA 'cause of the slight oversteer and better bit.

So... I'll see. Were we allowed to change cars each race?

any room open till f1 Qualify?? i already have my miata 89 ready, i call it "El_Chile69"
