I saw that! TOTALLY not what I was expecting.

He looks exactly as I was expecting. He also looks super excited to be there, as does everyone else. I bet he isn't digging on the constant media annoyance.

Decent test session tonight, got my NB Clubman time down to 1:05.2 from ~1:05.7. I'd say 0.3s of that was from consciously slowing down 0.25s in the 1st sector to take a line allowing me to carry more speed through the 2nd sector. Another 0.1s came from holding off my throttle input on the final turn for more straight-away speed, and the final 0.1s probably came from my revised LSD settings:

(2004 NR-A 1600)
Initial Torque: 25
Accel Sens: 15
Braking Sens: 5

I'm curious where I can gain most of the remaining time so if brosif or Jett wouldn't mind posting their sector times for their mid 1:04 laps that would be just swell (or PM me pretty please). Mine are currently:

22.3
40.1
105.2

Also, are you guys dropping into 2nd on that tight left hand corner? (turn 4?)

I was a second off of your times with my premium 89. At first, I could stay within a half second until the final two corners. By the end of my short practice time, I could get 0.2 ahead of your time until the last two corners. I must be really slow through there because I'm losing a full second right there.

I don't know what my sector times at Clubman were when I ran that 1.04.645. I think I remember hitting 22.0xx in my first sector but I will try and see if I can log some sector times tonight. In addition, during my stint I was able to run 10 of the 17 laps in the 4.6xx-4.9xx range since the tires do not seem to have much degradation.

I might also try running the NB tonight to see what kind of lap times I can post with that automobile. I will probably start testing after I get home from work around 5:30PM EDT so if any of you are available around that time and would like to test/practice/muck around/Dukes of Hazard it with me then hop on in because it gets super boring all by your lonesome. I'll post the room number once I have all my ducks in a row. :dopey:

I'm really stoked up this week 'cause of all the GT Academy stuff and F1 starting back up so I just want to jump in a good sized race with this beast.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

So go ahead and refer to this post if you're down to race on Thursday. It'll be @ 8pm EDT. Room will be open and live
qualifying will start @ 6pm EDT. You can use either car specified in the OP.

It's gonna be 22 laps @ Grand Valley East / Reverse

I'm not expecting a lot of people,it's just open to whoever wants to try it out, no registration or aything of course. We used to do loosely organized practice races on Thursdays before season 1 started so this is in that spirit.

This isn't an official practice race, just a pre-season test for the guys itching to start racing and get a read in.

SCHWING!

Sign up's not till the end of this week (as said in op)

I'm gonna set up a track day on Thrsday to try and get everyone on the same page since there's quite a few new comers interested in the series. That's awesome so let's get everyone together to make sure we all know how the series is gonna run, get to know eachother and get prep'ed for the start of the season. I'm really stoked up this week 'cause of all the GT Academy stuff and F1 starting back up so I just want to jump in a good sized race with this beast.

We'll do qualifying right before the race in the same "live qualifying" format that the series uses but just before the race.

I will most definitely try and be there, probably wont make it early enough to qualify though :(

Worst case, I'll watch lol

Edit: Just thought I'd post here a big congrats to R1600Turbo for making it to the top 16 in GT Academy. 👍

I'm on my way home from work so I'll be up. I should be on for a while too.

Edit:
Got my butt whooped out there. Kinda disappointed in myself after that one! lol

Don't get discouraged, Brosif and Jett are really fast so if you kept up at any point you can defintely get up thwre with more practice. And remember, momentum.

Fun racing everyone. Sam's boxing in methods are reminiscent of Cop chase videos :D We just need to work a bit on cleanliness so I'm breaking out the hand sanitizer for tomorrow's race. Be there or be ²

Edit:

Btw, here's some times (only the ones I could remember) we hit at the various tracks we visited, for the curious:

Laguna - 1:44.xxx
Eiger Short track - 1:18.8xx
Circe De La Sarthe (wet) - Forever
Autumn Ring mini - 43.xxx

Good racing with you too, dude!

I guess I shouldn't have gone to bed at 3:00 in the morning because I am so shredded right now. Oh well, I was having too much fun. I couldn't stop laughing when Graham drove straight into the pit lane divider right at pit entry, unassisted and while leading. :dopey:

Man, oh man. After you left we started racing around different custom tracks and such but ended up racing a few laps on Eiger short track. It was me, Jett, graham, Veloci and Samhain. We had a pretty tight race but then Graham ditched it with Veloci so they fell back. Me Jett and Sam were running together through to the 6 laps and on lap 6 Graham comes out of nowhere and speeds past us going backwards while we're taking that jump right at the start.
Sam and Jett took the jump pretty close together and I was right behind. When we landed we were all kind of spooked by G-ham so Jett took advantage and got on Sam's left side right before turn one to overtake since he slowed a bit. But then Sam got right back on line and scooted over to the left quickly enough that it bumped Jett over a whole car length putting him RIGHT perfectly smack dab textbook-like smooth into the pit lane entry.

I lol'ed.

Racing these cars crack my shet up like no other.

I think I am going to have to take a nap before our race tonight if I want my skills to be sharp. Otherwise, it might get pretty ugly out there with me running on four hours of sleep. I hope everyone can make it so we can recreate some of last night's battles.

Yeah for sure.

We're doing live quali to get everyone used to the system too so it'll be good.

For anyone that wants to know: this is, of course, limited to 16 racers (if we even get that many) so if there's less than 16 that qualify, the last open spots will be first come first serve for drivers with properly spec'd rides.

I'll be there for the race tonight for sure. I'm hoping I'll be able to jump on for a couple mins around 6 to throw down a quali time.

PS I love this car.

Great dive bombing racing with you guys last night! I loved the `ring, la Sarthe at night/wet, and the "rollercoaster" with the off-camber left turn of doom. I'll try to be on tonight, though I dunno if I'll be able to do many laps before 8.

Fun racing last night. I need to get the thing good and broken in though, I was getting yarded a bit on some of those straights.

Man, racing with you guys last night was tons of fun, even if I managed to somehow be part of every pileup (Rollercoaster track, Rome, Autumn Ring Mini, Le Sarthe) :D

I was about midfield most of the time, but still, tons of fun...and now my car is almost broken in (waiting on that last 1HP).

Look forward to some more good racing 👍

Edit: Rollercoaster track was pretty damn awesome

Oh man, oh man. That was quite the night. Sooooo many funny stuff happend, it's tough to recall all of it. From the white flash trying to overtake everyone on braking, and saying "F u guys! I'm going straight to first!" and the homophobic randy who wanted us all to pop our collars. All the way to Sam taking the straight away jump sideways on Eiger, spinning out of control, me trying to be the good samaratin and help him straighten out, only to find my self lined up perfectly for the SUPER LONG pit lane. Maaaaaan, it was an awesome night. My hat's off to all of you, haha. Now let's do it again tonight!

Here's what times I got from last night.

Laguna 1:44.4
Eiger 1:18.8
Autumn ring 0:41.0
GRand Valley East/Reverse 1:18.0
Trail mountain 1:43.2
